So are you. There's a few things that you'll need to take into consideration before disregarding and bashing a statement like this.
1. A common argument would be that Avatar has scenes that consist out of billions of polygons. How could that possibly run on a normal graphics card in the next gen Xbox? The answer is quite simple:

Stop complaining. If you don't like the site, don't use it. If you don't like the comments, don't read them. Whichever way you put it, the site is in no way biased towards one or another manufacturer. There's Sony fanboys, Microsoft Fanboys and Nintendo fanboys in roughly equal amounts, and complaining about one of them being in a minority is just plain and simply silly.
Bozebo:
Java doesn't really cause any overheads, the only difference is that the game is slightly slower than in C++ (Though it definitely doesn't take any more RAM memory).
Most of the stuff you mentioned is in fact graphics, and graphics is what takes most of the RAM memory in a game like minecraft. Since the RSX in PS3 has access to the full 512MB pool, I don't see this being much of an issue.
Actually, it looks like they're doing what Rockstar should've been doing with GTA4.
We've seen The Last Guardian, and whilst it looks great, it doesn't look leaps and bounds better than Killzone or Uncharted.
The hardware is 6 years old, it's only natural that there's very little more juice to squeeze out.
These types of games I'd much rather play on a PC then a console.
@bozebo
You are correct with almost everything you said, up until this:
"which is just a little mess Sony have gotten themselves into by making it hard to program for "
The PS3 isn't hard to program for, that's the wrong word to use. It's very different to program for, but quite familiar to developers that are familiar with programming for Linux in general.
Since Windows has always been the dominating operating ...
The article is rubbish, though I can see why people don't like the idea of an online "PASS". I feel it's the wrong way to go about it. Instead, gamers who pay should be rewarded, instead of gamers who buy second handed be punished. I feel Gamers who pay should get some exclusive DLC, or something in the same spirit.
It's a joke article, it's not meant to be taken seriously... Loosen up!
The score system is actually quite wrong, as you can't really attach a number to the quality of a game (or a movie for that matter).
The reason is that because of scores, people are starting to believe that only games with 8 or higher are any good, whilst games that earn a 7 for instance may be far more enjoyable to you.
In fact, it would probably be better if the scores were given as:
Great ; Good ; Bad ; Terrible
That way a far broader ...
LOGICWINS:
It seems that you selectively left out parts of Optical Matrix' comment. Matrix mentions making the two games compete is stupid, because it is. He's not referring to what is in the article, but rather what it's about, and that's comparing apples and pears.
And how often did you play online? There were many things that made the Ps2 a success, but its online functionality wasn't one of them.
The same as Sony did for PS2? I think we all know how that turned out...
They're different markets. In fact, the PsVita almost makes the Ps3 look bad.
@newleaf:
Microsoft's Xbox 1 was successful? lol...
Hint: Image size is specified in resolution.
1080p stands for a video with a resolution of 1960x1080, that uses progressive scanning. To use the term in combination with an image doesn't make sense.
It depends on the game, as it does with movies. I don't see a difference between including it in a movie and including it in a game with the same story & characters.
This console has disaster written all over it. It's not got a DVD/BluRay player, something the Wii got away with because of innovation that attracted families. It's main feature can only be experienced by one player at a time, and it has an audience that doesn't care about better graphics at all.
The console is so similar to the Wii that the vast majority of the current Wii userbase will not be willing to buy the new console. I hoped Nintendo would've either ...
the new Xbox will only release in 2013 - announcement at E3 2012, that gives Halo 4 plenty of headspace.
I hope this is true though.
@Levy,
Each of those separately won't be a problem for next-gen consoles, and the next generation of PCs. Together however would be.
What I was saying however is that claims such as these generally relate to quality "at the same level as" rather than "the same as". Games use a lot of trickery to replicate features seen in movies such as Avatar, so getting a graphical quality similar to that movie in the next generation wouldn't be ...
