Eh, give it a few more years, E3 will be canceled entirely.

Nintendo gonna be focusing on Metroid and Pokémon at E3. I'd put money on a Switch revision and a teaser for a new Zelda.

These companies don't need E3 anymore. It's not like it's 2004 again, and we get most of our gaming news from EGM and G4 lol.

Or they are viewing E3 as being obsolete and a waste of time.

Nomura admitted he hasn't even started working on FF7 yet. And they pulled it from the other studio that was making it. Gonna be another 10 year game. Square Enix is a dumpster fire right now.

Called this awhile back. E3 is absolutely unnecessary now. Although I honestly thought Nintendo would be the first to ditch it. When you can interface directly with your customers online, and reach millions within an hour, shows like E3 are just obsolete. Don't expect it to be around much longer.

This War of Mine will f*** you up. I've never felt like such a horrible person playing a game.

Some people have slow internet and it takes days to download a game.

Get Hollow Knight in the meantime if you haven't played BotW or Mario. Hollow Knight is very, very good.

It is incredibly, overly, sickeningly cute, and very easy so far, but a fun and relaxing nostalgia trip. Very good production values. I would recommend turning the text speed up, and turning battle animations off to speed up the experience.

And yet I'm most excited for portable Civ VI lol. Playing Pokemon now, and while it is super easy, the production values are very good. Better than what I was expecting from Game Freak. Found myself surprised with everything from animations, to menu screens and music. All very high quality stuff. Nostalgia levels through the roof as well.

I really can't name another open world game within the action rpg genre that has the interactions between elements and objects like BotW does. I remember the first time I pulled a bomb arrow out on a volcano, and it caught fire and exploded in my face because the temperature was too high. Or freezing meat in a cool area. Using an ice weapon to cool yourself in a desert, or laying down metal objects to conduct electricity. Starting a fire to create wind updrafts to gain vertical advantage,...

And yet no one ever talks about the first Xenoblade Chronicles lol. One of the greatest jrpgs ever made, with a huge, beautifully designed open world. Truly based on exploration, with one of the best sound tracks in gaming.

From an artistic and design standpoint though, it really did. When it released, look at what any game dev was saying, that they couldn't stop thinking about employing the game design tactics they were seeing from the game. Doesn't mean as much to someone just playing it, but as far as how open world games are going to be made in the future, there's no way those companies won't be bringing up ideas that BotW brought to the table at some point. Some people play games and get imm...

Witcher 3 is goddam amazing.

The chemistry system the game employed was absolutely brilliant as well. Some of the things people have done to alternatively solve puzzles in the game are cool, like laying down metal objects to complete circuits. At its heart though, Zelda is a game with a particular atmosphere, and has very heavy puzzle elements. It is very dear to my heart, but I can understand if it doesn't resonate with some.

If anyone can think of more, let me know. So far we have:
-Fallout 76 bug that deletes the game during the beta
-Spyro, Fallout pretty much having no data on disk and forcing large downloads
-Square Enix canceling all FFXV DLC, then promising subscriptions going forward and doubling down on DLC (lol) PC version canceled, director leaving, posting $33 million in losses
-Do you not have phones?
-Bethesda confirming still using their almost 20 year ol...

What the actual f**k is going on with AAA publishers this month lol. They are all hot messes right now. Square Enix, Bethesda, Blizzard, Activision all having disaster after disaster.

There's a reason they've been using the same engine for over a decade lol. They're great artists and storytellers, but not so much on the programming end. Think about it, most of their games still use loading screens for ladders xD

Some people love it lol. I manage one, and there are customers who order multiple times, every single day. Every. Goddam. Day.
