I'm looking forward to Metroid Prime 4 more than any game that's been announced right now. The Prime series is one of my all time favorites though. PS4 probably gonna have a solid year as well.
I really liked The Last Story. The story was very predictable, but the battle system was so good.
They did a good deal of work to Wind Waker.
Skyward Sword could be made into an absolute gem. Cut out the handholding, new lighting engine and texture work, streamline some of the game (please don't make me fight that monster three more times). Make it so traveling between areas, like from Skyloft and the sky seamless instead of a loading screen.
DAY 1 for sure.
It sucks, but I honestly doubt that each store makes a decent amount of profit at all. There's operational overhead and franchise fees that places like Amazon don't have, because they can store and ship so easily. It's hard really for any business to compete with them.
They should honestly go full collectable shop, sell Magic/Pokemon cards and host official tournaments alongside new and retro video games. Some specific comics and graphic novels. Hell, they could probably score exclusive ones. Tabletop gaming and official video game tournaments too. They could get sponsoring easily, and have advertising infrastructure. Perhaps relocate stores. Renting space at malls is very expensive. Tens of thousands or more per month. Rebrand and sell official merch. Get ...
The former EB at my mall used to have monthly gaming tournaments when I was younger. People would be there playing Smash tourneys between the time of the mall closing and midnight releases. I miss that.
Retail in general is just not a good thing to invest in lol. That money could be better invested almost anywhere else.
It depends on how much Bandai was expecting to sell. The delay definitely hurt sales though, and probably cost them a good amount in extra labor if they had to fix the game. With a digital price drop/sale, it will probably sell a bit more. Switch seems to have a good attach rate, and it's still a rather unique game on the system. Can definitely appeal to people that enjoy Zelda. Bandai might still potentially consider the port a success. I mean, it sold more than the Xbox version the firs...
Have you played Hollow Knight? Amazing game.
It wasn't trash, it just wasn't stellar compared to its first year. The Switch still had better exclusives all year than Xbox, with the exception of FH4. PS4 had a great year. I did play a ton of really good Switch titles this year as well though. Hollow Knight released on Switch this year before other consoles, and that was one of the most interesting games I've ever played.

xD
It sucks. MCC is fantastic now, but the player base is smaller than it could be because of its former problems.
Over the last few years, it's been shown (looking at you, Street Fighter V), that releasing a bare bones game and then making it good after release does little to help the stigma it already created for itself. I'd question my business plan if I had to rely on game sales and MT to be able to finish the product. That, or releasing just to hit dealines just seems very anti-consumer and insulting. Initial reviews and public opinion heavily influence sales.
I've been playing my Switch all year lol. And other consoles. Then again, I do love indies.
Didn't I just read the other day that Nintendo was the highest selling gaming publisher of 2018 so far? If anything, the Switch is doing better than most predicted initially. There was no shortage of people saying it would be another Wii U before it launched.
This has been one of the worst months for AAA gaming that I can remember, with all the terrible news, terrible company decisions and big flops.
Bad Company 2 man. Or 4, after they fixed everything and all the DLC.
I wish for Xenoblade Chronicles HD every single day.
