Fun fact: Companies have to honor existing contracts and can't just rip them up even if they're the larger player. Unless there is a clause that says otherwise. Also, why would they care so much? People act like they should be petty and remove unrelated services from a competitors box.

Exclusivity contracts are obviously not as easy to get out of. That's the point of exclusivity. Locking in an exclusive deal for monetary exchange.

It's about the bandwidth that the PS5 has fully figured out from start to finish. They figured out the hardware, and they also sought after more software solutions.

The separate processor isn't to just save CPU resources..

Yes, Rad Game Tools understand their software more, but Sony understands the hardware more. You're trying to talk like an expert with some odd talk. What are you even getting at?

@darthv72

They are still super high end drives, even the lowest speeds that work for the console. The other thing is the PS5 would be running the drive closer to its max speed than most other devices.

I'd only assume that older gen m.2's are fine with no heatsink.

Have people been not using heatsinks and running these fine? Without a heatsink, the controllers are basically guaranteed to throttle.

"spend 50% more than non-members"

Yea, when they have to spend $120 - $180 just for the service of course there is more spending from members, on the console with less spenders in general.

Streaming assets is not the same as processing it. It sends the data for nearby assets, nothing new at all, and then the graphics are processed by the console.

I used to really want an XBox portable when Halo, Fable, Forza, and Gears were at the top of their game. Yea, it would be scaled down, but the co-op potential back then would have been so good.

If they provided competition to the Steam Deck with an XBox Portable then that would be very interesting. The issue I have is Steam Deck has a much bigger library and can run Windows. It's open source, and no online subscriptions. An XBox portable would have to run Windows for m...

GoW on PS4 Pro was soo much better with unlocked framerate. Even being inconsistent, it felt way better than 30fps to me, when it was 30-40 most times, and sometimes above 40. Glad devs are being more experimental and trying these things out now.

Could these inexperienced non-gamers stop telling us what to think?

The hands on this are not angled like regular controllers, so apparently it isn't uncomfortable to use the different layout. Center spot doesn't mean better spot.

I think, if this happens and there is some sort of Sony/Netflix partnership that it would be a good idea to get a huge brandname out there as a competitor. PSNow doesn't rely much at all on advertisement and is more focused on sustainable growth.

Their installation allows support for a lot of Windows games. Linux can be made to run those Windows drivers. I'm definitely curious to see how well this works though. I remember having a bad time with Wine and Linux back in the day.

Pretty big difference though. Shield required a gaming PC setup for casting to play any of those games, or you could play Android games. This is a totally independent and well-priced gaming PC with portability. Enthusiasts would totally be into this product for on the go, and newcomers have a super viable product from a respectable company with a lot of positives to it. I'm very tempted to get this, but I definitely don't need it.

I've been saying this for years. I've wanted smaller bezels since launch and an OLED for better color and contrast as well as power saving. I was hoping that if we ever got it though that we'd get a spec boost similar to the New 3DS over the old one. I figured when they halved the power consumption of the Tegra chip that they'd make way for a beefier version or simply put a second one on there for a Pro model.

If you're going to retort to petty remarks and more emotional responses then follow your own advice. You replied to me directly. Use an @ sign and quote the name properly. Don't talk to me about comprehension and use these tactics to distract from zero logical response. A simple mistake of mistaking you for someone and you really took it just to throw anger around and be insulting. I specifically mentioned emotional responses because these replies are li...

Need I remind you, again. This is up to developers. Just as it is for XBox. The only actual negative is that sometimes people download the PS4 version on PS5. The only actual valid complaint to be heard. Which did have a benefit in the past when a next gen version was bugged. Below are the identical traits for both Live and PSN.

Both require the devs to decide and implement:
- Cross-saves.
- Free next-gen upgrades.
-...

@Abbott123

All console still have specific game builds and detect what SKU you have for titles. There's no magic. Devs can simply update games with next gen features and minor patches on both consoles. Where do people assume that the console with the easiest dev tools somehow has a roadblock to just updating a game you developed? There is none.

They haven't made it easier. Again, it's the devs that choose to do it. They simply love to market buzz...

People still think they're different? It's a developer fault. Smart Delivery is just a term MS uses to describe products that use it. PlayStation has had this feature with PS3, PS4, and Vita. The issue for lack of support in the past is due to all those platforms being drastically different architecture. Most crossplatform games hired another team to handle the port, which meant no "Smart Delivery". PS4 and PS5 have this feature. They just don't market it. It's entir...
