Just being the first to do something doesn't make it ahead of its time. The whole tech market moves forward together. PSX did have a harddrive.

Things ahead of their time.. for instance. The Cell was certainly ahead of its time and that was a bad thing in its case. Bluray was ahead of its time and cost an insane fortune to be included.
I think 360 was ahead of its time graphically. The graphics, even with lack of HDMI port, were really damn good and it's s...

They thought modern consumers were too dumb to distinguish Windows 95 from Windows 9 and went straight to 10.

The withholding of some features that absolutely can work on the older version was also pretty petty when it wasn't reliant on a different core Windows version.

I also don't condone piracy and agree with your statement. However, one instance I will bring up is one of the Windows installations was just very meh and even after verifying your legit Windows key it would keep asking for it over and over, every hour, and changing your background to black with the unregistered Windows watermark. You had to call them to fix it, and after an update or hardware swap it would happen again. It was a fairly common issue. I always owned my own key and still do...

Windows scheduler still screws up the AMD performance on PC. It has been poor for multithreading for a very long time. If they optimized it with the OS then we'd have more gains in general. Game devs must optimize better and so does Windows.

@badz149

Off the top of my head. I never found any actual solution if the quick fixes don't work. Uninstalling and reinstallng drivers(with a reboot), verifying all programs related to hardware are set to run automatically and are not disabled or on manual if necessary, installing driver for similar hardware if original won't work, and wiping registry with programs and manually through regedit. I've even reinstalled brand new Windows installation with or without...

I remember for over a solid year.. one update, wifi drivers don't work properly and no fix. Next update, audio drivers don't work and no fi I just used the audio from the Display Port source instead of audio jack, so i plugged speakers into monitor instead which luckily had audio jack. It was off and on, one or the other, or both messing up the whole year. So infuriating. They really need to stop with the ridding of older menus for the "sleek" and unhelpful tablet PC style m...

"I'm not doubting their abilities"

You literally are and have expressed so. Be clear and consistent. You said their art "change" is god awful and also point out their one origin game doing badly forever ago and keeping harping on only doing remasters/remakes. We understand having lack of experience in developing original content. It's worth noting. I don't get your example on art "change" since the...

@oldenjon

Just look at Sony's pedigree and reputation with managing and greenlighting high quality projects. They know what they're doing.

No one said no other company couldn't do their remakes. The point is that they know the ins and outs of all these different styles of games and their art team is able to faithfully recreate and add on to existing assets in a way that makes it look like the original developers vision. There are a ton of posi...

I think they need a newer high performance model that has all the new features AMD and NVidia use for performance enhancements while maintaining nearly the same visual fidelity.

@oldenjon

I don't understand.. the company has grown far beyond a simple remake/remaster company. They said before that SoTC was proof of their capabilities to tackle much bigger next-gen projects, and their faithfulness and flexibility to source material and art styles. Then Demons Souls further proves that. They could honestly make a whole new Demons Souls title and probably do it as close to FromSoftware style as anyone could. Their knowledge of game theory and desig...

Intel has much worse multithread performance. Single thread gets like 1 or 2% better performance in some games, Ryzen does better in others. This doesn't take into account background services and multitasking, something reviewers and benchmarkers don't think about. Intel will easily fall behind Ryzen when the gaming app isn't all it has to worry about.

Intel was super overpriced before Ryzen came and dropped their prices significantly. Intel is still not worth i...

I might. I loved DS. I currently want to play a lot of PS4 games that I've not put time into, and replay a couple. I got my PS5 last week, finally. The controller is definitely much improved.

People didn't want to hear it years ago when I pointed out that the downtime tracker was actually in favor of PSN. It was more neck and neck at the time and I only brought it up when people tried to say PSN was apparently worse for gaming, and really it never was. People can't accept that what is commonly said to be true sometimes isn't.

@Basedcrocky

You really must be new to online gaming to be thinking you come off as intimidating with all that nonsensical talk. Heard far better trash talk well over fifteen years ago when it became mainstream. Relax and stop being so ehh. You don't need to spit out rehearsed judgmental nonsense. Just be you and talk. Learn things. What's the point of being here if you don't? To grow an ego over a purchase?

Ahh, and trash talk here is boring ...

Apparently, typing one longer comment trying to add to real discussion and share an opinion is raging. But, multiple fanboys leaving several individual comments that add up to a couple paragraphs themselves isn't.

Not to mention how they're obsessed with always constantly trying to find moments to say "fanboys" this and that like they aren't hypocrites. It's sad.

You'd think with the rise of Souls games and RPG's becoming way more popular that it would have gotten this treatment, if not a sequel then a soul successor.

It will drive production for high end m.2 production, which means lower manufacturing costs, of course retail prices may be affected, they might raise, but will probably stay the same mostly. But, in the long run, demand will drop below the supply and the market will benefit on both ends with these products becoming more relevant.

Yesss. This might get me back into it. So glad it's a RuneLite plugin and not a separate 3rd party client having to choose between them

You see, those games are third person and of very high quality. Very high quality that is commonly described as cinematic. So apparently, they lack diversity for being third person, like the vast majority of games, and having very high quality assets, animation, writing, and cutscene direction.
