They don't normally have a big loss per sale and this normally gets better in about two years after launch and then the box is profitable. But, the difference is hundreds of dollars made back on hardware is instead never made, and then that hardware is also streaming constantly adding network costs. There is a reason that previous attempts at cloud streaming fail and then even the big company streaming services still follow.

It would be nice to be able to have a phone able to browse your inventory, assuming there was no noticeable lag. But, I think the current form factor is perfect.

I want a more powerful version and for it to be able to wireless connect to the charging dock so that you can throw smart apps on screen from the dock while the console is in your hands, and it could run games to the screen wirelessly with the handheld screen showing inventory just like the Wii U.

I also agree with the point others make that they add more to it now. The downgrade is mostly that it requires Plus to be a part of it now. $60 for some first party exclusives, online access, streaming, and most big AAA third parties was a pretty awesome deal but I do agree it has a better offering now that it requires Plus. When I was a kid without any money I would have loved having PSNow over anything else.

This is correct. I have no understanding how people could not grasp the concept of Now. It was literally GamePass before there was GamePass, and without day 1 exclusives but a much cheaper cost. Oh and not requiring Plus for online play of Now games. When I see articles saying cheapest deal in gaming and what not I was like do you guys not actually do research?

@Stark

I've made no argument over any MS or Sony topic here. I'm commenting on the fanboy wars going on here. I've also not cleared Sony fanboys of anything. All these ignorant warring comments and especially the hypocritical ones ignoring faults of ones own platform while insulting another are ridiculous. So is putting words into people mouths and assuming their behavior just because of their opinion or group they stick with.

The amount of cringe from newer users on here always nagging about fanboys when both are equally ridiculous regardless of what their platform of preference is.

I'd love KZ2 multiplayer again. I also think they could easily incorporate a mode to compete with Battlefield style game modes

If this takes off.. imagine all the terrible Windows updates breaking drivers, crashing, and other critical issues. So many times I've contemplated switching to Linux

They said they can get the game for free. That's pretty cut and dry.

What's wrong about making your console accessories also relevant to PC users? They've broadened their focus to bring in more money but in a way that gamers are unaffected in any negative way. I think Sony is very smart with this decision. Many gamers will justify an expensive headset if it can be used on two platforms and not just one. Having a little more oomph and proper support for PC is a big deal to those looking for a good headset.

I built something like this back in 2015. It was a foam padded case meant for camera or sound equipment. I drilled holes to mount my 24inch monitor. Then I put an industrial velcro strap to hold the console tighthly against the foam padding and I put clip straps for the headset and controller. It actually turned out very nice for a prototype. Just open it up and plug it in and you're good to go. Obviously not for lap gaming purposes. Just for going to friends or travelling places without ...

Cloud processing is not exclusive to Azure. It is not special. It's just convenient because of scale and availability. This exclusive because of cloud servers stuff is not good speculation just to be honest.

I was kinda hoping for a GameCube shaped console with expansion slots on the bottom. Like a series X chopped up. Then mid gen an expansion could drop in another gpu and some ram for a pro model

There is nothing special about Azure or Microsoft's cloud tech. The only platform with poor cloud infrastructure is Nintendo. Sony doesn't have to pay for a game developers servers either so I don't get the assumption. Also, servers aren't near as expensive as people think.

I hope that the big guilds or groups will be more varied. I want to get away from going with the typical one massive guild or one of two competitors. Imagine if there were like 5 opposing factions and you can choose any one to assist in taking over and maybe even uniting them or a couple. I know you are "free" to do our own thing and you are but 99% of people will go the path the game steers them towards. Pretty excited to see more of this. I agree the combat is a little lacking tho...

I never said I knew the story or inferred that. I specifically stated I was tired of them having stories that have those problems and that I hope it isn't a problem with this game.
