"Most of the key latent already left the studio to form their own teams, even prior to their acquisition"
Still not true. Most of their key players were still there until 2008 and another batch left in 2010, after the Kinect and Live avatar focus. I correct this every time since people still claim Rare was gone before the acquisition. It's misinformation. Well, disinformation if people keep spreading it knowingly.
@Oeazy305
"76 wasnt great but it was their try at a mmo styled game."
1. ESO is their MMO game which came first and have been supporting consistenly. They have experience.
2. There were very basic developer oversights such as tying framerate to everything. Meaning, if your frames dip down from 60 to 30 then you run at half the speed. This is not common except for old console games, and this is a traditional PC developer. Ridic...
@SensorFartCushion
We still don't know every in and out of the Days Gone situation. And, just because it was a good game and did pretty well doesn't mean that the idea for the sequel was a good one. Use common sense. Making a sequel just for the sake of banking on the previous games success is not how Sony does business. Yes, they've made many sequels, but they've made and have taken risks on new IP's all the time. Their sequels aren't typically shoe...
@all the above
You know, in-engine and realtime are not the same. These game engines are more than capable of being used as traditional rendering programs and they certainly do, especially when those assets and work have already been done in said engine. Realtime is important to know that it represents what graphical quality they can deliver on the hardware with those quality of assets.
@SizzlingHot85
They can both run at max clockspeed, the whole point of variable was not to waste resources and to have efficient hardware where the devs barely have to optimize. There are zero negatives to variable clockspeed.
The misconception is about power, not clockspeed. Max clockspeed does not equal max power consumption. And, as Mark Cerny explained. The only times it will drop clockspeed is when a game isn't demanding enough to need it, or if a ga...
Hydrogen is problematic for consumers. It's extremely flammable. There's a reason it hasn't been adopted. Those cars also still need to be manufactured. EV's negate the higher manufacturing carbon after a couple years, and importantly aren't adding to the concentration in highly populated areas.
Not Super Nintendo Switch. Just, Super Switch or, Switch Super.
Please be somewhere like Hong Kong or Japan. I was hoping FH4 was gonna have a more drastic change in scenery
@AngelicIceDiamond
Okay, but if you're flying on an airplane and a wing falls off and you miraculously survive I don't wanna hear you critique the airlines job just because you aren't experienced in the field. And, I doubt you'd sympathize with them.
What kinda defence are you even posing? If you get your car serviced and it takes twice or three times longer than other places, and they do a poor job, you can't critique them? This is a ...
Nope, they're not suffering at all. They release a big exclusive every couple months as always while multiplatform titles buffer in between. Just like every gen before it. It did release with some great games, actually one of the best launch title lineups we've ever had and the included Astrobot. Quit lumping PS5 in with SX problems like we don't know the tactic. Not the same.
@OptimusDK
Those studios never release games and there is no good track record under MS. Don't brag about things from an investor point of view. Look at it for what it is.
It's hilarious that everytime PSNow is brought up the criticism is ridiculously harsh. People don't want to objectively compare the value. Better AAA games, much cheaper, streaming included at that cheap price, more games, and free online for games through the service. Game...
It's PSNow, which has more games, and has streaming and free online for games used through the service for $60 a year. It has more AAA titles worth playing. Sure, not as quick to get a brand new big 3rd party title onboard, but it's much cheaper at $120 with PS+ versus $180 to have Gamepass and Live.
Gamepass still requires Live to play online. And, the first party titles are some of the highest rated. I'd brag of day 1 exclusives when they release on a regular...
@katinum
"why would I care to sway opinions I'll probably be gone from the site by tomorrow?"
You're doing it right now. Doing the "I'm not a tryhard and don't care" act to play it off. Playing down that this means nothing because you'll be gone, and yet you chose to comment at all.
Get real. Out of allll these years and how the toxic fanboyism is much less than before, you respond to a pretty d...
You're intentionally changing your typing habits to be different from a main account. We're not stupid. You're pretending to be objective or level-headed from an "observer" standpoint to sway peoples opinions now. You're not the first. Not even close.
PlayStation is the bigger platform. Get over it. Of course more users will disagree with the other platform when it comes to comparisons. There have been several cases of more alt accounts for one pl...
"What gamers really want"
Gamers want games. Are they not fulfilling that? We got a great launch line-up, included game, and many big games coming within the first year or two.
@AngelicIceDiamond
The point entirely evades you. I've told you what I agreed with and pointed out things you've said that are hypocritical and deflection, like blaming MS for the bad and complimenting Phil for the good. I told you why I compare the two. If you can't move forward with this conversation and find common ground then you shouldn't be talking. You're putting words in my mouth. Obviously, no one said anyone is entirely to blame. I just spoke a...
@AngelicIceDiamond
"Now that he's in charge". What did I just say? It's not "now". It's the past generation, the years before that he was in charge of European XBox studios that both have stagnated, and then every studio since his promotion to oversee all XBox studios followed the same pattern under him.
You just gave him props for the good, but you blamed the bad on other members of MS, or the company as a whole. I just ta...
You haven't proven anything as misinformation. I'm literally stating the fact of his career involvement with these XBox events. The man literally took over the whole gaming division during the rise of Kinect, and has since done nothing himself, the game release schedule since his promotion has been the worst it's ever been and it hasn't gotten any better in these 11 years he was in charge of XBox studios, and his time in charge of XBox entirely.
You also just...
Actually, no one is pointing out Phil's terrible history. All the articles are supporting him and his PR campaign that he is only doing good things and the bad stuff is all his predecessors, yada yada yada. He's behind Kinect focus in 2010, he was promoted for it and he pushed their gaming divisions to ditch hardcore gamers for it. He made Rare and Lionhead develop solely for Kinect. He is the reason game releases for XBox One's launch were not ready and the release schedule for t...
Any make-believe agendas aside. It's wrong. Are people really gonna act like there isn't an abundance of hopeful and overly enthusiastic MS puff pieces despite the considerable lack of actual delivery and the over-promising? Or, the GamePass coverage that repeats the same thing over and over beating it into our minds?
If you're gonna talk about other articles and pieces then talk about all of them, not just the ones that suit your opinion and fake concern. If truth ...
