Elder Scroll 6 a mid-size game. Call of Duty is just an Expansion Pack. Doom is a retro indie shooter. Fallout is just a proof of concept. Candy Crush being the only AAAA game in their portfolio and the rest are just Demos and Early Access never to be finished ideas.

Because of the original XBOX the generation after never felt truly "Next Gen" for the first few years. The transition was almost as insignificant as the PS4/XBOXONE to PS5/XBOXSERIESX has been, barely.
After you played graphically impressive games like the Splinter Cell series, Chronicles of Riddick, Doom 3, Halo 2, Burnout Revenge, and Thief 3, you sorta became numb to what came after.
The Sega Saturn needs one ASAP. Ppl saying the Dreamcast are just being filthy casuals. Fact.
We are so spoiled that we don't even see how the previous generation (PS4/XBOXONE/Switch) was the greatest generation ever. The ridiculous wealth of amazing games and the types of games that came out absolutely eclipsed the PS2 era.
But like I said, we're spoiled. When even mediocre games tend to have better gameplay and even better controls than a lot of the games of that era, we'll take this generation for granted.
Stop remaking newer games and start remaking older games that where good but were limited by the tech of the time or the budget limitation.
With the caveat that you do not destroy what made them great.........
Make it a First Person Perspective for those that actually get it and give the option for an over the shoulder camera for those that don't.
Oh, is that why it became so popular? I thought it was because the fans kept the name alive and kept pestering SEGA to bring the titles over until SONY asked the fans which franchises they wanted to bring to the west and Yakuza got one of the most overwhelming support. Then the streamers and word of mouth kept the momentum going until it became "cool" or whatever and stuff...
