Have to agree with you. For my taste Demon's Souls/Dark Souls is the best new IP this generation. This series is just gameplay first, everything else second.

Judging by the trailer I can see that the cogs that started to turn with Mirrors Edge are finally showing their face. First Blink and now this, the whole Parkour style gameplay is going to finally change the way first person shooters control.
Also what Demon Souls started with the online component, the whole message/ghost/invasion/allianc e type co-op, is going to do the same next.

I beg to differ, Capcom is not really doing anything wrong, but giving the masses what they buy.
Maybe if people started to vote with their money instead of b*tching and then buying the product, they would stop putting out ridiculous "skin" packs. And this goes for EVERY company that releases DLC; Bethesda, Activision, Naughty Dog, Bioware, Epic, you name them.
Face it, this is really the costumers fault, and it will only stop when people stop buyin...

I have been a fan of them since i first played Morrowind on the original Xbox. Funny enough the Morrowind Game of the year Edition, not the original, had the exact same problem Fallout 3 have. A whole lot of slow down that brought the game to a halt.
I mean i see what you r saying and that's my point. Those were years ago so you think they will not go down that road again. But worst of all they brought that same "release-now-patch-later& quot; mentality to consoles....
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you.
Between the shoddy port Bioware did with Dragon Age, Rockstar and the game freezing bug in Red Dead Redemption and Bethesda and their numerous bugs, and you can see how this has become the story of this generation.
Release product, wait for people to beta test them and then patch them, rinse and repeat.

Don't be mad, be glad. If you ask me this is a smart move, why waste money on games that have expensive peripherals and are dwindling in sale (DJ Hero, Guitar Hero, etc..) when you can make mad money selling map packs and COD every year...yeah.

Chronicles of Riddick and the first Darkness game were made by Starbreeze studios. This one (Darkness 2) is being done by Digital Extreme, the makers of of Bioshock PS3 port and Bioshock 2 Multiplayer section...yeah.

Have to disagree with you there, Gameplay is king presentation and story are just icing.
When you look at the best games out there; Zelda, Mario, Sonic 2, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, Mega Man, Tetris, Bionic Comando, Pac Man, Zork, Myst, Monkey Island, etc. One thing stand out, gameplay, the story and presentation are either minimal or non existence.
