OMG, a possible weakness of the PS4? I won't hear of it. Not for a console built buy the gods that descended from heaven to the Messiah Sony.
I would add different controllers to pick from. Why can't Sony introduce an optional DS with the left thumbstick and D-pad reversed? If there is one thing that will keep me from buying a PS4, its their controller with the PS1 design feature of having the largly unused D-pad in the dominant position.
I think after pushing a few zombies off with Kinect most people will default to the button after the novelty wears off. It would get pretty tiring and old constantly pushing your controller out for an hour or two.
I suppose you wouldn't mind then if the police came and searched your home for no reason and without a warrant because you have nothing to hide?
Never understood standing a console vertically either until I asked myself why I can't lay my PC horizontal. It's nice to have the option.
I think the real reason they designed it not to lay horizontal is becuase of RROD. MS will do whatever it can to avoid another RROD fiasco and truth is placing the old 360 vertically would be more likely to lead to RROD. It reduced air circulation and caused uneven stress on heat sinks. I aso believe that is why they continue...
Can anyone explain how barking commands to Kinect in a multiplayer game is a good idea when Kinect is the primary chat device; thanks to no inclucion of a headset?
If Kinect can read my mind it might not like what it reads.
Those that like Kinect being included would buy one if it wasn't included. Putting a Kinect in every box will increase the install base to 100%, but that only matters if you assume people that don't like Kinect still buy the console and then buy Kinect games.
If I were to buy a One I would have a Kinect and be included in the install base, but if I don't buy Kinect games or use its features what does it matter? However, the forced Kinect and resulting higher p...
You would be buying a more expensive, lower powered, poorly designed box that forces a gimmicky accessary to be hooked up from a company that can't be trusted to not screw you over later.
One point that might be worth mentioning is one-console domination may have worked out well during NES, PS1, and PS2 generations, but only if your into Japanese games. What MS did with the Xbox is bring western games from PC to consoles, opening up whole new game style to those that may never have experienced them. The hardware competition between Sony and MS itself brought software competition between Japanese and Western game styles.
Excited at the DS4 improvements over DS3 (it needed many) except they still put the D-pad in the dominant postion instead of the left thumbstick. Since the advent of 3d gaming analog sticks are primary means of control, not D-pads.
Having been an Xbox fan for almost 12 years now articles like this sadden me. The original Xbox had a huge hardware advantage over PS2. 360 had advantages over PS3 with programming ease and online component. What advantages does One have over PS4 for fans to look forward to? Kinect? A gimmicky accessary half the fan base doesn't want. Exclusives? It remains to be seen if they are any good and half anyway probobly won't remain exclusive.
MS obsession and total focus on K...
My thoughts while reading the article. I was expecting a compelling reason to make me want a Kinect. I was hoping for this article that is promoting Kinect 2.0 to give interesting uses for Kinect that would appeal to core gamers and justify the extra $100
The best one was ordering a pizza while playing Ryse. Even MS couldn't find a strong reason to have it or they would have shown its uses at E3. Speaking of Ryse; if Kinect 2.0 is so great than why was Ryse, which ori...
MS want's you to join its obsessive Kinect fetish.
After reading this piece, I'm still left with the question "why would I want a Kinect?." Even an article trying to push and put a positive light on Kinect 2.0 can't come up with a compelling reason for having the Kinect. Just more gimmicks. BTW, if I can tape up and put behind my tv the Kinect and never use it, then I should be able to unplug it and box it up.
Of course it won't include a headset, it comes with the magnificent all-seeing, all-knowing, do everything Kinect that MS has an obsessive fetish for. I don't even know why they include the console since the Kinect is all you need.
yeh, the kinect is a non-issue for me since I won't be buying the console. I keep hoping though it's another aspect of the console MS changes, having been an Xbox fan for 12 years.
I'm curious to know what happens if its not set up correctly. If I move to a diferent spot in my living room will the system stop working with a message that says "error, please reajust your Kinect."
I'm not coming home, never was a Sony fan and never owned a Playstation. I've supported Xbox since I got an original in 2002. That support is now dead. I'll stick with the 360 for a bit and maybe find a new home on Playstation or go back home to PC. The wild card for me is if Steambox comes to fruition.
Kinect is so great MS had to remake Ryse to not be a Kinect only title. Well worth the extra $100.
