For arguements sake I'll admit my internet hasn't gone down for more than 2 hours. I've also never had a flat tire but still keep a spare. The problem with 24 hour check-ins are they are unneccessary. MS can do everything it says it needs it for by requiring you to connect ONLY when installing games. I personally believe their is another reason beyond keeping an accurate library of authenticated games (which logically can be done only when installing) for check-ins that MS is ...
MS Xbox One Mistakes list

a. most expensive console at $499
b. does not include a headset

So Kinect will become the main DRM enforcement tool. It makes sense now that you can't unplug the thing and its always on. Its going to make sure you are really you when logged on and you don't have any unauthorized people present. Only one question; where is the biometric scanner at? Or is that planned for Kinect 3.0?
exactly, it makes the whole DRM policy itself pointless. to good to be true, there has to be a catch
Your not seeing a downside because your head is stuck in the sand.
Explain how publishers and MS are losing money on used games and want to limit them and then turn around and let every Xbox user share their games with ten people. Any money saved on controlling used games is more than lost on everyone sharing games. Theoretically I could never buy a game myself but just play my friends games over the cloud. Sounds great, almost to great, and if its too great to be true t...
yes, its called arrogance
11. travel to a vacation spot or grandma's house for a week or two in the summer where there is no internet.
Not surprising, MS made a jack-of-all trades console but master of none. The price point alone will seriously hurt it, especially with the casuals, since casuals won't buy the most expensive console. Nobody at MS even seems to understand how their console works, we can never get a straight answer to anything. Confusing, headache inducing DRM and online restrictions combined with poor design choices show the PS4 to the more user friendly easier to understand console. MS truelly has mad...
If MS was smart they would encourage digital distribution by making prices lower and having games released earlier. If they did that most games would be sold through downloads and all their DRM crap that allows them to accomodate physical discs would be pointless.
Why would Ms fix anything, afterall, they are happy where Xbox is going...it's the future man. Unfortunately for them I'm stuck in the past.
If MS is going to allow me to share all my games with ten people, and conversely allow ten people to share their games with me, why are they making such a big fuss over used games? It seems to me publishers and MS would be losing a lot more money allowing all this game sharing than they would by allowing used games.
Finally, someone that understands. I've been an Xbox fan for 12 years, never having owned a Playstation. MS obsession with Kinect and everything besides gaming has been a let down. They used gamers to get the Xbox brand where it is and then decide we're not important. This console is a piss poor design with even worse policies attached. I would be a fool to not buy the cheaper, more powerfull console that has no headache causing restrictions from a company that didn't stab me...
XBone is a legit name for a console that boned millions of Xbox fans like myself. MS truely let us down.
Oh No, Congress is about to make Kinect irrelevant. MS sure can't catch a break; what are they supposed to do with Kinect now?
Maybe there are some dissatisfied or Sony coopted employees at MS that actually want the One to fail. They are doing a good job of it.
the 2 free games a month are only for the 360 and only until the release of the One
If you can share a game with ten "family members" how are the publishers saving money by going after used games? Seems to me the money made by attacking used games is far outwieghed by everyone sharing games with ten other people. I like the feature, but if they are doing that then why even bother with restricting used games. Seems kind of pointless
MS doesn't know what they are doing, there seems to be no one in charge. Ask MS a question and they either don't know or give an answer only to have another rep dispute that answer. The've created such a complicated nightmare that they don't even know how it works. They have been designing and planning this console since fall 2010 by their own admission and it shows. Sony started thinking about theirs since 2007. Maybe MS should postpone the release date until they can fi...
A few exclusive games aren't enough to outweigh the negatives of this console. Besides, based on MS track record of keeping exclusives, we'll be seeing most of them on the PS4 in a couple years.
Developers will like you being able to give your games to 10 people for free. Then why the hell are they so bent about used games? I woiuldn't have bought most of the games I have if I could just log into my friends library and play the same games for free.
