If MS is so sure of the all digital future and wants to push for it than there is a simple way to lower the cost of The One and still keep their beloved Kinect in the box. INTRODUCE A SKU WITHOUT A DISC DRIVE. Since all games will be available digitaly it wouldn't be needed for all digital gamers. For those that subscribe to Netflix and never invested in blu-ray (I sold off my DVD collection awhile ago) it wouldn't be needed for movies either.

PS4 offers a stronger emphasis on being a game console first, which is the primary purpose of a console. The more powerful hardware and better specs will allow for some of the greatest looking and playing games on a console ever. It's history of putting out quality games from broad genres will offer a deeper gaming experience
Xbox One heavy emphasis on Kinect and entertainment has made a less powerful console for games with...
where in the picture does it say Nintendo X-box?
Kinect shouldn't be touted as reason The One will win. At least as many people hate that want it. Without any compelling reason for it so what if its included. "...developers take more chances with putting special Kinect exclusive content into their games..." is what I'm affraid of. Any game that does risks turning those off that don't like or want to use Kinect.
Point 4 (kinect) in this article is a reason the One may not win.
The cloud is greeat for making a more complete and enjoyable online experience but MS is trying to use it to give the appearance of a more powerful console. If they can offload some hardware processing demands onto the cloud and have "3 times the console performance" then in effect the One will be an always online console. http://www.gamespot....
No reason family sharing can't be done with digital downloads. MS screwed up when it wanted to force disks to function as digital downloads.
One has worse specs than PS4 all thanks to Kinect. MS decided in development Kinect was more important than creating the most powerful console possible. Pretty bad trade off in my estimation, and for that trade off we get to spend $100 extra.
So glad MS decided to spend so much effort developing Kinect instead of putting the best hardware possible in the system. I'd much rather turn my console on with voice commands than have the best graphics I can get.
Yes, its why MS wants everyone to have a Kinect but of course they can't say that. Instead they try to convince you how magical it is to turn on your console with voice commands.
perhaps they are, if Kinect costs as much to develope as the console.
It's sad to see so many blind fanboys refusing to even acknowledge the possiblity of what the article says is true. I've been arguing this point for months, since it was revealed the Kinect was bundled with every console and had to be connected in an always on state for the console to even work. Why is it so hard to believe that that same company that tried to force always on DRM and stick its fingers in the used games market wouldn't do this? After all they said not to long ag...
doesn't matter anyway, Kinect can only track 6.
How does this make any sense...Kinect can only track six people in the room. I guess the other two people in the room won't get to experience the magical wonders of Kinect.
I can't belive you're in college based on the near incomprehensible post you made. Spend more time learning to communicate and less time in tournaments. Me not be trying to be insulting, yo.
So true. Along those lines someone should ask MS: "would you rather sell a console with Kinect or no console at all?"
I love/loved Xbox since 2001, but MS and the One has pushed me away, even with it's reversals. A $350 sku without Kinect might bring me back, but MS better hurry before I fall into Sony's arms.
Also mentioned in the article is there will no longer be a distinction between Arcade and retail games. I don't understand the logic to this, I like to know what I'm buying. Arcade and retail games are two distinct types of games and should be differentiated somehow.
Yes, but you can't turn PS4 on by saying "PS4 ON" Clearly MS has a huge advantage and value in something well worth $100 more. I've always had a deep seated need to talk to my console, now I don't need therapy. Thanks MS.
Yeah, I'm a troll for expressing how dissapointed I am in what MS has done with The One. I've been an Xbox fan since the release of the Original Xbox having never owned a Playstation. That doesn't mean though I'm supposed to continue to support the awful decisions MS has made relative to everything Sony has done right.
