not on the XBOne
It means whomever buys a PS4 will not only get a more powerful console, but a cheaper one as well with a broader array of exclusive games. They'll just have to do without voice commands to turn the console on.
If Sony or MS offer an affordable sku without a disk drive at say $299 I would go all digital. Don't need the disc drive for movies.
1. Offer sku without Kinect for $349. They have to undercut Sony price since its underpowered.
2. Offer an even cheaper sku without Kinect and without disc drive for $249. For those that plan on going all digital and don't need a dvd or blu-ray player this option would be highly attractive. MS wants to push an all digital future anyway.
I'm done holding out any hope for the XBOne. MS should have delayed the launch of the console a year to fix all their errors and be ready. What I take away from MS is they want to sell me a Kinect with the console as the accessory. If they put half the energy and thought into developing the console as they did the Kinect they wouldn't be in the mess they are now.
Funny how MS touts how they have the greatest software programers in the world and will make up for the hardware difference with software, yet they are farther behind in driver development than Sony. "Another described Xbox One’s graphics drivers less charitably as “horrible”."
As for Kinect it truely was a bonheaded move to spend so much energy in its development and include it in every box. Beyond jacked up costs requiring less powerful hardware to remain cost c...
true, price usually does and again Sony has the advantage.
Don't forget the Kinect shovelware in the works. Since 3rd party developers won't be using (making anything a console exclusive) it, MS studios will be forced to develop for it...just like past 3 years.
They couldn't. Kinect to MS was much, much more important and making a powerful console was secondary. "Xbox On" took precedance over designing a powerful and easy to develop for console with games first. After all, XBOne is plenty powerful for apps and tv.
MS shot themselves in the foot with their Kinect fetish. They spent so much time and money developing and pushing Kinect they didn't create the most powerful console they could. All for the sake of some voice commands. As for XBOne being a complex console, isn't that a problem the PS3 had? Being complex and harder to develop for, such as using the ESRAM, isn't a good thing.

PS4 may be significantly more powerful than XBOne, but you can't turn it on with voice commands. Thanks MS, for your enfatuation with Kinect and bringing us things we didn't want or ask for. As for developers utilizing Kinect because its in every box heres a stand out qoute:
“They really want us to make use of platform specific stuff to give their version a leg up over the other,” said one source. “But unless there’s a good design reason or incentive we rarely do.”

Sounds like your at the wrong site buddy. Here's a link, try this one. http://www.feedthechildren....
Yet another example how Kinect is going to ruin the One. $100 more expansive due to its inclusion. Lower spec and less powerful console due to investing in development of Kinect and to keep price down. Delayed release in many countries due to voice control issues. Now it is causing production problems. MS heavy emphasis on Kinect and requiring it with every console is the XBOne's Achilles Heal. In a year or two MS studios will probobly go back to pushing Kinect exclusives when they ...
I'd like them to send a newsletter saying they now offer a kinect-less sku for $399
I'm sure Rockstar hates the leaks as much as the hype the leaks are creating for GTA5
Pretty sad when the best the brilliant minds at MS can come up with is "One", but then I remember all their other brilliant decisions regarding the One
No, its just pointless and not wanted by many, making the extra $100 for the system a deal breaker.
Achievements have lost meaning thanks to too many easy gimme and pointless ones. There is a needlessly high amount of achievements and gamerscore for games. Achievements should be just that, an award for achieving something. They should represent a level of completion or showcase a player's skill and ability. Halo 4 is the perfect example of having too many pointless and easy achievments. Four "achievments" for customizing your Spartan? Midnight Launch? What exactly is be...
I like that, sounds good. How about Xbox Fusion? So many better choices than One but still better than Wii U.
MS is in an uphill struggle becuase they chose to develop an underpowered entertainment box with Kinect as the primary focus. Thanks to all the development efforts and money invested in Kinect, MS had to use lower rated and cheaper hardware to remain price competitive. Ironically, they haven't even achieved that.
