Have to disagree that the Xbone interface "just adds live TV to what is on the Xbox 360." If anything the Xbone UI is a step backwards from what the 360 offers since much of the features the 360 UI has aren't on the Xbone (yet). Some stuff that it can do is harder and more complicated on the XBone. For some examples http://xboxfeedback.com/

Kinect as the building foundation of the game and microtransactions to nickle and dime the player...hard to see how this game went so bad. Just a symptom of the bigger problem with MS and what has become of the Xbox brand. What a shame.

I would like to be able to add a little personality to my profile by adding a motto, location, and bio. Xbox 360 had this why not Xbox One. They made profiles boring.

Trophy rarity system much more interesting than achievements for watching netflix. Glad Sony took something MS started and made it better. Hopefully Xbox will add some sort of rarity or point system such as what trueachievemtns has been doing for years.

exclusives such as the Halo tv show made by spielberg.

MS to lazy to make a matching white Kinect?

If MS wins it will be the first time the more expensive console takes the lead.

MS boneheaded decisions were a nice break for Sony. MS pretty much gave them the next generation before it even started. But even if MS never went the online DRM route, its still underpowered and more expensive than the PS4. MS could have carried away the North American market this gen, building on the success of the 360...what a wasted chance.

I'm curious to see what MS has planned to try to hold on to the few fans they have left. It's nice to try and be wooed back to the Xbox camp.

I'm still waiting for the XBone kiosks to have controllers to try out. Everywhere I've been doesn't have any controllers yet. How is it a week after launch, on black friday, they still don't have proper kiosks out yet.

the money is a deposit to ensure you send the console back, there is nothing wrong with how MS is handling this. MS would be foolish to send free consoles out before verifying the replacement is warranted or even before the faulty console is sent back without a deposit.

Yep, and it helped prevent Halo fatigue. One more year in development is what Halo 4 needed to go from a good game to a great game. Maybe they could have implemented a skill based ranking system at launch that you didn't have to go into Waypoint to see. The new Halo trilogy makes sense to start off on the One.

No surprise MS is gimping their games when they gimped their console as well and tried to gimp the consumer with heavy handed DRM.

How could MS leave out some basic feaures for the dash of the XBone the 360 has had for years now. Did anyone on the development team behind the XBone spend time using the 360 or were they just winging it?

It seems to me if MS wanted to create “an Incredibly Powerful Next Generation Console” than native 1080p resolution as standard would have been a benchmark to build the hardware for. Instead MS chose to build a tv and app box with its main focus on Kinect.

I can't believe some of what is suggested, particularly features the 360 already has, aren't offered already on the one.

Looks like an awefull lot of wasted space inside the XBone, more than enough room to design an internal power supply. What I'd like to know is why MS took a step backwards and made the hdd non-removable. Is it because they want to sell you their own proprietary external hdd's or want you to have to send the console in for repair when the hdd fails.

Thats what many are afraid of, required use of Kinect functionality in games and a focus on Kinect. If any game that requires the use of Kinect discloses it than a Kinect in every box is ok, but I would be none to happy if I bought a game thinking it didn't require Kinect only to find out while playing it some form of voice or motion control is required. If games that require Kinect have a disclosure than at least those that don't want to use Kinect in games can avoid them.

To stay competitive with Sony they need to bring their price down. If they introduce an sku without Kinect and lower the price they'll sell alot more consoles to those that don't want Kinect. Another interesting possibility could be one without the Blu-Ray drive. The future is digital and MS wants to push it so why not introduce a cheaper sku without the blue-ray drive for those that would be going all digital for games and don't need the playback functionality for movies? How...

well, at least the power brick is smaller.
