Wow, a mysterious warrior with amnesia searches for clues to his past.

That's so original it BLOWS MY MIND.

If any console gets this as an exclusive, the console war is OVER.

Mark my words.

You'll get no argument from that on me. The 360's done a better job covering the genre bases than the XBox did, but there's certainly still a lot of good for improvement.

There's a reason I own a 360, and owned a PS2, but never owned an original XBox.

Well, liking a genre doesn't necessarily mean liking a game. Some people enjoy stealth action, but don't like the MGS series because of the storytelling, abundance of cutscenes, etc. It still falls to their opinion and personal taste.

There are people - a minority, sure - who like the Splinter Cell series more than MGS. Are they wrong for that? How CAN they be wrong for an opinion?

I enjoy some FPS games, but there are many hyped ones I care little for. I wa...

I hope the next generation of consoles have better graphics than Crysis.

I played through Crysis on very high on my PC, and it was the most gorgeous game I've ever seen - but when the new consoles start arriving in 4-6 years, I like to think we'll be a bit beyond that.

LOL, that's awesome. Someone disagreed with the fact I'm at work? Or the fact that talking about games is preferable to my working? Glad to see they know who I am and what I do for a living.

I swear, some people on this site disagree with the silliest things.

EDIT: I appreciate the intentional irony - at least I like to assume it's intenional irony - of whoever disagreed with this one, too :P

Oh, you misunderstood me - or I didn't explain properly. I think the PS3 is a good value for a gaming system.

But if you went to the store today and are sitting there staring at the price tag on a PS3 box and on a 360 box, and ALL you want is a gaming system, it seems to me like the 360 would be a better, or at the very least, equal, value.

If, for instance, you want to buy a system TODAY to play games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, GTA4, Madden, DMC4, Lost Odyssey...

Yeah, I didn't really realize how long it was until I'd finished typing...whoops.

In my defense, I'm at work, so it's either "work" or "type a crapload about video games".

Step 1: Rip-off CoD4's multiplayer system with unlockable weapons, classes, selectable playlists, and a huge ranking system...basically everything.

Step 2: Profit.

I know this is risky, because posting anything that isn't pure praise for the PS3 on N4G seems to result in everyone and their mother clicking the little "disagree" button, but I'll take you up on your challenge.

"PS3 better value with the victory of blu-ray"

This is true, if you care about HD movies. Not everyone cares about HD movies at the moment - you can tell this just based on their sales. By the time Blu-Ray really takes off, stand-al...

Where did I call the 360 a reliable console? I said quite the opposite. I just also think, other than the horrible reliability issues, it's a pretty good console, due to the features and the selection of games. Which is, you know. An opinion.

I'm sorry your fanboy filter read the post differently, though. Next time I'll just post about how amazing the PS3 is and how worthless the 360 is and explain how no one with a single active brain cell would even consider purchasing a ...

I wasn't aware "two dots" was the secret internet code for "what followed before this statement was a joke."

Apparently I don't have the latest Internet Lingo Handbook.

"Zombies in a mall" is really all the game and movie share in common, but apparently that's enough for a company to enter Code Red Lawsuit Mode.

I just hope this doesn't affect the chances for a Dead Rising 2. I'd love to see the same gameplay of Dead Rising extended to a small town, sort of like a GTA with zombies.

If you want bubbles, stop making fanboy comments in the Gamer Zone.

I see your point, but at the time, the $500-600 price tag was hard to swallow for some people. There were a limited number of games to choose from, and all people had to go on was the "promise" of future earth-shattering games. The value drops even more if you don't care about Blu-Ray movies.

Now some of those games are out, and they're pretty spiffy, so the PS3 is slowly but surely starting to match the hype given to it on launch, especially given the potential of ...

I really wish you hadn't started your post with "No offense to current 360 owners, but anyone even considering purchasing a new 360 should have their head examined.", because the rest of it makes plenty of good, interesting points with an amusing story. Unfortunately, because of that opening, the rest of your post just reeks of Fanboy.

There are many reasons for getting a 360 right now - assuming, of course, you like the game line-up - even with the current issues. ...

Well, you said it would be "unacceptable to the public". I think it already is, Microsoft is just going the extra mile to avoid making a PR nightmare any worse.

The only system I can think about with a fairly high "failure" rate was the PS2. I know mine died, and I've heard of many people going through several PS2's due to the DRE issue, but no solid numbers were ever released. I'd guess the failure rate was still subtantially lower than the 360's, though...

So he should have bought a $600 console at a time when it was very difficult to justify the price just so he could have backwards compatibility?

Heck, it's cheaper now to get the $400 PS3 and a PS2 on the side.

I can't agree, and don't really see why you would think that. It's not like Microsoft is exactly high on the Public-Opinion-O-Meter. If anything, they get harsher criticsm than most other companies, not less.

Do you think Microsoft extended the warranty for RRoD to 3 years out of the kindness of their heart? No corporation does ANYTHING that costs billions of dollars out of the kindness of their heart. They did it to avoid the PR damage that an inevitable class-action law...
