I would love, in 2 or 3 years, for Nintendo to lower the price of the Wii to $99 and release a WiiHD for $250 that has around the same power of a 360 or PS3 and is backwards compatible with regular Wii games (and thus also probably Gamecube games) and even upscales them to 1080p.
Eh, I'm used to the Phantom Disagreers at this point. I'm fairly certain fanboys on each side pinpoint posters who aren't ALSO fanboys and just click "disagree" to any post they make. I wouldn't be incredibly surprised of 1 or 2 of the people "tracking" me are people I've somehow personally offended and so they track me just to "disagree" with anything I say, as if:
1) It makes a difference
or
2) I care

I hate game lists, but here we go.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Zelda
Metroid
Super Paper Mario
Mario Kart
Guitar Hero 3
Zack & Wiki
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
No More Heroes
I'm not the best at math, but that seems like more than 2.
You don't have to LIKE these games, but the simple fact is, they are more than just collections of minigames.

I'm surprised it took 11 posts for someone to make a RRoD comment.
The Open Zone is over there, friend. Your console war crap isn't welcome here.
Yeah! You'll need a 360 for the Force Unleashed!
Or a PS3.
Or a Wii.
I got all excited at first. I thought maybe it was about a new KotoR game. Thanks a lot, CNet, for the misleading, bias headline.
Well...the Wii has games...gamers play games...I guess that would make it, I dunno, a gaming system?
Do you know what annoys me more than casual gamers? Gaming snobs. People who help foster the reputation of gamers as anti-social losers.
Are most Wii games as "hardcore" as most 360/PS3 titles? No. But that doesn't make any less of a system for "gamers" - just a different type of "gamer".
The only people I don't con...
Wow, Call of Duty 4 refuses to die. It's even #5 for the PS3 in Japan, a country that isn't typically that interested in FPS games.
Awesome. It deserves all the success it has gotten and will continue to get.
I wonder how Monster Hunter 3 will affect Wii sales in Japan.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Quite literally. I was going to come in here and say:
"They said the same thing with Vista. I'm not holding my breath".
Keep this fanboy attitude in the Open Zone. The Wii has games - and reviews indicate they are great ones - whether you like it or not, and that makes it a gaming system.
I don't even own a Wii. Nor do I plan to for awhile. But this crap is getting old.
Even if the Wii is aimed at kids, here's a newflash: so are a lot of video games. Doesn't make them any less good.
It's all about the gameplay, in the end.

Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.
EDIT: Curse you, whoever disagreed with this post, and thus insulted the great Monty Python.
You have been +bubbled for this statement alone:
"It is a great time to be a gamer and to pick a side or want the demise of any other consoles makes you a fanboy, and fanboys are not cool"
Of course, he was referring to the standard for HD movies. Not for everything else.
Though obviously, the PS2 set the bar higher last generation than it's ever been set before, if only in sales.
Why? It's not anti-Sony.
@10.2:
Heheh, yeah, I know, but I couldn't resist the small jab. It's a slow day at work.
It's true, for the most part. Nor was it very hard to predict - I get a kick out of all the analysts/insiders who talk about 2008 being the year of the PS3, when anyone paying any attention to gaming and with any basic logic can tell you the same thing.
2008 is the PS3's 2007. 2008 is the second year the PS3 out, the PS3 is gaining steam as its userbase increases, and many of the PS3's big hitting games are coming out this year.
Now take that last sentence, rep...
I was going to mention the DVD9 limitation thing, but if they really wanted to just release a single game, they could put it on multiple DVD's with little problem.
Maybe it'll actually do half of what they promised Vista would do?
New features that don't just rip off OSX would be swell.
I get the feeling Windows 7 will be more akin to a Windows Vista SP2.
On a related note, it's really a shame for Sony that they let the exclusivity of this title slip away. I guarantee that if this game were only on the PS3, I'd be buying one on April 28th, no questions asked, no matter what crazy number they slapped on the price tag.
He's clearly still in that "gamer high" that you get into once you finish a truly awesome game and are convinced every other game ever made or ever WILL be made sucks donkey nuts in comparison. So, he's probably exaggerating a bit - especially when he says the protagonist is the best ever and the dialogue is "Oscary worthy".
That being said, I still the game will be incredible, and a frontline contender for Game of the Year. I just think it's important to ...
It's pretty obvious.
Games are EXPENSIVE to make these days. Especially ones with as many voice actors as Mass Effect. A single game the size of the Mass Effect trilogy would take a HUGE amount of time and money, and no company can afford absorb those sort of development costs for a single game without releasing something.
You'll notice huge single player RPGs like Oblivion have a lot of repitition in texture use, voice actor work, etc. Why? Because textures ...
World of Warcraft? Boo! Boo, I say.
My personal All Time Top Five, in no particular order.
Ultima VII (both the original and Serpent Isle)
X-Com
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy 4
TIE Fighter (which really represents a lot of space sim games - Wing Commander, Free Space, etc. But TIE Fighter barely eeks them out.)
Damn, only five? Hardly seems enough...
