I'll know and love them when their HD system properly displays HD games on my HDTV.

@9.2 below:

I am amongst the owners of older CRT HDTVs that only do 1080i, also known as, "people Sony doesn't care about."

And no, don't tell me to JOIN THE FUTURE GO 1080P. My CRT's image quality is quite good, and I see no need to get a new HDTV for another year or two at least. All Sony needed to do was include a hardware scaler like the 360 did, but...

It's really depressing that such an obvious, fair, balanced, non-fanboy statement got 4 disagrees and only 1 (now 2) agrees.

If you needed any more proof that we're losing N4G to the fanboys, this is it.

Thanks, guys, for taking this place away from the gamers and throwing it directly into the hands of the fanboys.

Looks like you're getting disagrees because you dared remind certain Sony fanboys that the game is, in fact, ALSO coming out for the 360.

Yeah! The iPhone will totally own the PSP! In fact, I'm playing the incredible God of War on my iPhone right no--

Oh wait.

Sorry, but the multi-touch interface just doesn't serve well for traditional games. Ever tried an emulator on the iPhone? Ugh. Just...ugh.

All the iPhone has on the PSP is an (arguably) prettier screen and a lot more memory. The touch screen is cool, but not for most games. Even the DS has SOME standard buttons and a D-P...

This thing is so sweet. Microsoft should just keep supporting XP - adding the GOOD Vista features to it - drop Vista and other future Windows releases, and focus on this puppy.

3 years? Maybe I'll start saving up now...

"If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."

Well, um, er, at least he liked God of War: Chains of Olympus, which he rightfully points out as an incredible game.

That's SOMETHING, I guess.

Clearly you missed the last few months where every report regarding the 360's RRoD issue was approved and front-paged within hours.

I thought it was an interesting experience that was worth sharing with other gamers, though as I posted below, I imagine it's a very unique case.

If people don't like the story, it won't get approved, and that's fine. But I didn't post it to "OMG PS3 BASH".

Sounds like this guy just had some crappy luck. I still think the 1% failure rate sounds about right. Even with such a low failure rate, SOMEONE out there is going to roll the dice twice and come up short both times.

I'll start worrying when every website on the planet reports that PS3's have stopped reading discs by the truckload and when PS3's in kiosks at huge gaming events around the world stop working.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love m...

Mass Effect was not a flop in sales. It sold over a million copies.

Do you ever stop being wrong?

Popularity perpetuates popularity.

A friend of mine bought a DS so she can play at work, because other people there have a DS and she can play multiplayer games with them.

The more people own System X, the more other people want to own it, too. People hear how great System X is from their friends who have one, so they run out and grab one when they have the cash.

I think word of mouth sells more game systems than any advertising campaign. I know ...

It's really hard to say what effect gaming, TV, movies, books, etc. have on people. My personal beliefs are these:

1. People who commit crimes "because of" violent games or movies or whatever were probably already unbalanced in the first place and SOMETHING was going to push them over the edge.

2. If a child is playing a violent video game at home, then their parent has failed. Plain and simple. I couldn't watch rated R movies as a child, after all. ...

I have custom firmware, but I still buy every PSP game I play. I rip them to the memstick anyway though, for the performance enhancement and convenience.

Though I agree that the PS3 was overpriced at launch, I still stand by the fact it's the best choice for a Blu-ray player for now and for the next couple of years at least.

People who bought a PS3 as a Blu-ray player won't be disappointed. It's possible the picture quality might not quite match a stand-alone player, but it hardly means they have to run out and spend another $300 on a 2nd player just for a small increase in picture quality.

6529d ago 7 agree7 disagreeView comment

Yes, it is.

"Increasingly, the Blu-ray performance of the PS3 doesn't really stand up to videophile scrutiny. While its excellent clarity and fine detail reproduction is without question, motion is not the console's strongest point. Fast panning shots in Sony's own flagship 'Casino Royale,' are prone to stutter, whereas the company's own dedicated players render the same scenes perfectly. It is also prone to visual artifacts not seen on the latest dedicated players." ...

Me too. I've never understood the "PSP HAS NO GAMES LOL!!!!" argument.

But then, a portable Hot Shots Golf was enough for me for awhile.

Not terribly surprising, given the price dropped mentioned in the article.

Unfortunately, I doubt 40% of what it was already selling in the UK is terribly much. Price cuts or no, I really don't see Microsoft besting Sony in Europe or Japan this generation - if ever.

Regardless of whether or not the movies are there yet, it's pretty cool that the PS3 is upgradeable in this regard.

I can't imagine the uproar if people had bought a PS3 last year only to find it didn't have the features of the next generation of stand-alone Blu-ray players.

First God of War, now this.

If there is a God, he loves PSP owners this month.

Seriously - has there ever been a handheld game like God of War? It's just perfect. I became a God of War fanboy overnight, and suddenly I need to get a PS3 just so I can play the third one.

I watched my roommates play the first two, and it looked pretty cool, but...I had no idea. The PSP version just blew me away.

Between homebrew emulation, and an inc...
