I believe it was a lithium battery, not a processor, that was catching fire. Six incedents, if memory serves me right.

One of the games I'm really looking forward to. If you tweak that final picture enough, you get better detail of the map. Specifically, the Bermuda Triangle.

If you luck in the upper right of the map,

you see what appears to be Poseidon riding aquatic horses; which leads to Atlantis being the theme, most likely.

Despite being a fan, I too think that the idea of calling it a computer is absurd. But I'm not against throwing all those features in; the more the merrier I say. All the stuff they're throwing in is having me say "hey, that'll be cool." I would have gotten wi-fi regardless of what system I get, because it just makes life easier. The memory cards aren't THAT important to me, mostly because everything I use has xD, which isn't one of the supported. But do I view a console as som...

I just fail to understand why so many believe that consoles are nothing more than gaming systems. They really have evolved to be more than that; at least in my eyes. $600 would clearly be a lot to pay if your sole objective was playing games. If that were the case, then I'd get the $500 version. If you do have HD-TV, and do want to be able to stream and access media from a computer, and do think that there's a noticeable difference between DVDs and two new formats, then I can't help but t...

God Hand's only 15th on the list? For shame.

It should be noted that the game was one of those featured in the March issue of PSM, which the Offset team encouraged fans to go out and read. I can only assume they wouldn't do this if the game weren't going to that console.

They have finally gotten a publisher, which they're not revealing yet, so you never know. Microsoft has the deepest pockets out there; I hope the team didn't let the dollar signs woo them.

Although I think the game looks great, and have never been one to look for or point out jaggies, I have to say that the drawing point for me is not the graphics. They're not what make a game fun (in my eyes, of course).

This is the first game that I saw of the next gen that screamed at me "next gen." I'm one of the people that gets more excited about what's going on under the hood and in the background than how many polygons are being shown. The second the develope...

I have to agree that Project Offset is my most anticipated game of the next generation. It is the only game I've ever seen that has made me eager to hop online and play it. The scope and depth of the online play seems amazing. Hopefully, they won't charge for me to play online on the PS3, but even if they do, this'd be one of the few games where I'd pay to do so.

Assasins'Creed will still be amazing too, though. Can't wait for both.

Having worked various jobs where the employees did their best to shelter the customers from the stupidity of management, I must say that the opposite can be true too.

As sure as any seemingly sane person can be. I recieve no gains from supporting Sony. No beneifits. I'm sticking with them because I enjoy Playstation's library of games better. I'm assuming you don't. That's fine. Different people like different things. If the devoper's suddenly switched, I'd move right along with them. As it stands now, the only difference between the two systems is their game software, and the added features. I like PSs history with software, and so would like to ...

A: Generalizing an entire fanbase is just unecessary. I'm a Sony fan. I like their systems, and their products. You will find Sony electronics strewn all throughout the house; recievers, dvd players, tvs, etc. I am not "brainwashed" though.
He said there were a hundred Blu-ray movies out, and there aren't. Is that wrong? Of course it is. Do I like lying? Of course I don't. But do I find it something that causes me concern, or that I want to complain over? No. No...

I know that I've always heard the Monster's the top of the line cables. And don't they have alifetime warranty or something?

There are people who care about older games, because hey were good games. To imply that a generation might as well just be left behind because the graphics aren't top-notch is a harsh outlook. I still play PS1 games from time to time. Not often, but it's great to have the option.

I consider not only the lack of thorough backwards-compatability, but the ceasation of premiere games for the original Xbox, to be a kind of abandonment. 2 of the 3 next gen systems are putting a h...

NBA Street is, without a doubt, my favorite sports franchise ever. I still think Street 2 was the best (didn't like the control and change of gamebreaker in 3). I'll be interested to see how these next-gen platforms can push the game, besides graphics.

I still adamantly think that gameplay, not graphics, are what should and do sell consoles. If both systems end up looking the same, or even extemely close, then the consumer is left with a choice: if not graphics, then what?

You've got either brand loyalty in one direction or the other, you've got franchise loyalty (which is a huge factor; many people complain about the number of 4's and 5's in the titles, but that's because they're good games that people want more of), and th...

Exactly. I never bought a hard drive for my ps2, because I didn't feel I needed one, and I only used the hard drive on my Xbox for game saves. But now, I think it's an absolute necessity, because these boxes are for more than just playing games; at least to me. That, and I'm running out of space on my computer (I never thought I'd fill up 320 gigs).

One other thing I remember reading about 360 before it launched (and I have no idea whether this made the final features list o...

If the system were to launch without these features, would every single one of you not then be saying "Why doesn't PS3 do this?" As far as I know, Achievements aren't for anything more than bragging rights, and given the fact that I don't buy 20 games a year, probably of little worth to me. But if it's a good idea that is seemingly becoming a standard as far as gaming goes, I'm not hurt by its existence.

Same thing with downloading. I'd LOVE to be able to download ...

Has Heavy Rain been confirmed as a 360 title? I personally loved Indigo Prophecy, and so will probably buy darn near anything Quantic Dreams makes on faith alone. Although I'll be getting it for PS, they really need to move as many units as possible. IP's sales, sadly, sucked :(.

Why is that a bad thing?

They're technically second party. They're not owned by Sony, but prefer to make games for them. They could just as easily jump over to Xbox or Nintendo if they felt like it; there's no contractual obligation or anything.
