Man, this news is great. Silent Bomber, Ape Escape, Brave Fencer Musashi, Tomba! 2, Ehrgeiz, and Bust a Groove. I've been waiting for this. Now it's just "how much"?
Sure, not a problem.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying about the hard drive being "integrated." With the ps3, you can swap in and out any standard 2.5" laptop-sized hard drive you want. You don't have to use memory sticks for anything . . . and they're only useable in the 60gig model anyways. Along with other memory formats.
My 1gig xD card for my camera cost $40. My 250gig external drive cost $80 (it was on sale). My $200 gig internal slave drive cost me about $100 a year a...
It will load, it just takes FOREVER (seriously, I'd left the window open by accident, and a while later, it started playing). If you have iTunes, it's a lot easier to just download the podcast from there. It's fast and its free. Just go to the iTunes Store and search for "PSM," without the quotes
It's amazing what these small teams can do. Project Offset started with only 4 members, I believe.
Haven't played an AC since the first one way back when. I forgot how much I enjoyed the series. The buildings and everything in the first video look great, but I wish there was a sense of population and activity in the city.
I would just feel like I was getting used if I went with Live. Out of habit and preference, I don't play online that much. Even with my ps2, I rarely, and I mean RARELY ever go online. I just wouldn't want to pay that much for the 10 or so times I decided to hop on. Which is why I admit it's purely preference. I know many people that adore and enjoy getting online; who feel that it extends the value of the game for them. As I'm not such a person, I am by default not bothered by Sony's s...
I thought this was debunked; stores have been having those displays for awhile now. Well, my Best Buy doesn't have one out, for what it's worth.
The reason I'm getting the $600 version in the first place is because of its media-center abilities. It's about half-and-half with me. I'm just as excited about streaming content from my computer to the tv, or watching hi-def movies as I am about playing games. I've always said, if you're JUST playing games, the higher end model is a bit pointless.
And as for extra costs, don't you have to pay for cheat codes and tutorials in certain games? I'm not justifying GT:HD's struct...
For myself, at least, the problem isn't how MUCH it costs, but the fact that it costs anything in the first place. I feel that online play is something that should be provided at no extra cost, especially since it's not what I buy games for (for example, when I buy a game, I don't look to see if it has an online mode, and could care less if it did), and if one console can do it for free, that's evidence that it can be done. As the article says, there will be forgiveness that it doesn't matc...
There are some devs who've said they aren't using it, which is good, because it's not practical for every single game made. And most that are implementing it have made it seem that you can turn it off or use other means if you feel like it.
As much as I enjoy rumble and wish it weren't gone, I can't bring myself to say that feedback is more important than input. If I had to have ONE, I'd rather have the extra, intuitive input functionality than the controller shaking.
Ahh Rez. 1080p and 5.1 surround, right? :-)
That reminds me; I still haven't beaten that fifth stage yet . . . time to go play!
I would just love to have, like, a party of four online taking down a Colossus. Especially being able to talk. You'd have people yelling out strategies and manuevers. I guess it would be similar to Monster Hunter or something, but on a larger scale, and done right.
How far are you in SotC?
Shadow of the Colossus is worthy of any award bestowed upon it, except maybe "Best Multiplayer"(that'll be for the sequel :P). Seriously though; happy to see its still getting the recognition it deserves. GREAT game.
Happy to see progress. I hope they release soon what ps1 games you can download; there are a bunch of titles I'm really hoping make the cut. I have flow on my pc already, and it's quite the addicting game. And I must admit that I'm a sudoku/kakuro addict, so that should be cool to do when bored enough.
I can see myself having fun with this online. I'm not a big fan of online multiplayer, mostly because I don't like the gameplay of it. Online deathmatches just aren't fun for me (and no, it's not because I suck at it). I just don't have fun running around trying to rack up a body count. When it's with a few friends in the same room, it's one thing. But with 15 or 20 people online, it's another.
The one thing I'd like to see in online play is a sense of value placed on life...
In the last paragrpah he states "we already have several MMO’s in development for the PS3 that are cross platform with the PC."
And I guess they figure even if you're not playing with them, if you're in your living room or something, you'd still like to talk to them. It's just an added, superfluous extra that doesn't detract from anything.
Most of the ones I want are expensive. Try tracking down a copy of Bust a Groove or Tomba! 2 or Ehrgeiz
