I think they're just being absorbed by Capcom. They just don't have their own devision and studio anymore, if I'm understanding things correctly. As such, no more original IPs from them, and instead, they have to work on whatever game the Higher-ups want. They've basically lost their autonomy and freedom of design/creation.
I own Viewtiful Joe, Viewtiful Joe 2, Okami, and God Hand (the last two of which I'm still in the midst of playing). Clover Studios was one of those gaming divisions that I'd probably purchase a product from blindly, so strong was my faith in their work. Sorry to hear about this; it's always a shame when the biggest money-maker isn't the most artistic or best designed game, but the ones that appeal to the masses :(
Psychonauts, Beyond Good & Evil, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Go...
I will be keeping my system. Hate the concept of buying a system just to sell it; it's basically price gauging.
Someone disagreed. Was I wrong? If so, you could just correct the statement; I'm not intentionally trying to spread false information by any means.
Unless something's changed recently, it's supposed to be 400 thousand to NA, which is larger than the 360 launch.
Got my preorder today (4th in line)
Within the 1.5 sq. mile area, there are 2 eb games, 2 gamestops, a walmart, target, circuit city, and Best Buy, not to mention the mall. The EB games I was outside of is getting 13 systems, so I'm assuming all the others are around the same. And you need only go 3 miles up or down the highway to find more large shopping areas (gotta love northern Virginia), so it's not too hard getting a reservation.
You have to admit that not everyone has HDMI, and that putting them in every box will be a waste. Also, most tvs only have one HD port. If a consumer with an HDTV is using that port, then they already have an HDMI cable at home.
With the logic of the cable necessity (price difference not withstanding), you could say that they "should inlcude an HDTV" because they claim it's true next gen.
So in THIS instance, what with saying that 1080P was too difficult for developers, not practical for consumers, and basically a wasted feature, Microsoft wasn't lying but just . . . marketing?
I'm quite glad that 360 users will somehow get 1080p too, but I think it's deplorable to constantly and publically belittle an opponent's strategy/feature that you intend to use yourself the entire time.
One example of a ported game selling more is Viewtiful Joe. Awesome game originally released on the Gamecube. Then, almost a year later, it was ported over to PS2, where its sales jumped considerably.
Can't take credit for it :) It's from Rush Hour.
well I'm black, so I guess that makes me blackanese.
In all seriousness though, anime's just a love it or hate it kind of thing, just like any genre of any entertainment industry. And given the saturation of it over there, there is a lot that comes out that you're bound to just not like. I'd say roughly 1 or 2 out of every 10 new series piques my interest. I don't consider the rest of the trash by any means; just not my taste. Saying you like anime is like saying you lik...
Hmm, I own the PS2 version, which was a fun, quirky game. It only uses one analog stick, so it should survivie the translation to psp quite well.
It's one of the most addicting games you'll ever play. Also one of the hardest, but you definitely get that sense of satisfaction as your abilities grow and you finally beat those final five songs on expert.
Ohh, the carpal tunnels . . .
PIckup, I'd take an American made one, most likely. Any other vehicle under the sun, I'd take an Asian made vehicle. Except for SUVs. I just like their design better. It's not just about how much horsepower you can throw out there; what do I need all that for? Style and elegance.
Also, the 1080p in our house is a Mitsubishi, and the 1080i in my room is Toshiba, we have 2 Sony recievers, my camera is a Fuji, I have some 200+ gigs of anime, and a large collection of Ja...
That can be said about any feature for any system though. Many say buy an Xbox because of its proven online play. That's a reason they'd buy one, not I.
I'll agree that no person can claim which games are the best in absolution. I do prefer Playstation 2's gaming library to Xbox's. The type/style of games I play are usually found on Playstation.
Not to say that I have typical Sony tastes. I can't stand playing RPGs, dislike FF, GTA, GT, and MGS. But for me,...
It won't do much good if the developers don't program games to use rumble. And developers most likely won't take the time to program in such a feature on the hopes that the few with a third party controller will use it. And that's assuming the Sony LETS them do so in the first place; they have to approve games released on the console, and they could easily, I'm sure, mandate that no games including rumble, or at least this incarnation of it, will be approved.
I completely underst...
I can only assume that the terrain used (you're basically racing in mud) combined with the fact that there's no spedometer in the HUD means that speed isn't an important part of the race (as in, driving at 80mph through the mud in a winding canyon and cliff edges is a bad idea).
I can appreciate designing your system to what just about every consumer who buys it will use, but to intentionally hold back its abilitities seems pointless. Even IF you don't think gamers or developers want it, there is no logical reason to prevent it from being possible. Just because an output resolution CAN be done doesn't mean it WILL be, and if some developer had managed to do so successfuly (as they are now), then more power to them. Just because the game can run at 1080p, that does...
I'm not going to complain about the system doing 1080p through HDMI; that's great news for you guys. I'm happy you all are happy (even though I recall everyone saying that 1080p on PS3 through HDMI was pointless, useless, impossible, and marketless, etc., ad nauseum). The thing I don't understand is, if the system was capable of this from the beginning, why is it something that wasn't implemented from the get-go, and if Microsoft always knew they could do it, why did the come out and say th...
It's true. High cost of gaming alone is enough to prevent any but the bravest from taking a risk and making something new/refreshing/innovative. Add to that the fact that the games that ARE new/refreshing/innovative either aren't marketed properly, or given a chance, and it's easy to see how this happens.
The whole reason I became a Sony fan in the firstplace was because that was where I found such titles. Now the industry's becoming more and more conglomerates and licenses ...
