I used to have SF 2, I think, back in the day. I knew a lot of people that absolutely loved the game, but I never really got into; it might have just been my age at the time and not appreciating its depth.
I believe a Powerstone collection recently graced the PSP, so something may be in the works for PS3, either as a full game or a downloadable title.
Oh; and another fave I forgot to mention is Rival Schools.
I'm happy to see Virtua Fighter coming along well. I have to agree that it's probably the the most impressive franchise in the genre. I haven't played a Tekken since . . . 3. The only three fighting franchises that personally excite me are Virtua Fighter (deepest, most technical fighting engine), Soul Calibour (weapons based combat) and Powerstone (please let there be a next-gen incarnation!). Never really got into the Mortal Kombats and Street Fighters, but did love Samurai Showdown, Ete...
For everyone asking why they're talking about PS4 in the first place, it could have something to do with the analyst reports that came out last week stating that there WOULDN'T be a PS4; I'm sure you all remember that.
As far as not living up to the life-span promises, many people have already posted this, but I'll re-iterate. Life span isn't from launch to launch; it's from launch to no longer making games. Granted, the last 2 or 3 years of this will be children's games and...
They've already stated you can download games onto up to five systems, which would imply that they keep track of your purchases.
I agree; I'm having fun playing it, and the fact that it's on Blu Ray is of little concern to me.
I think it had something to do with them realising that they didn't need to have multiple forms of the FMV; that the system could convert it on the fly.
I can see where you're coming from. When I first played the demo in store, I was impressed with how everything looked . . . until the race actually started. It still looked nice, but there was slowdown and graphical problems that I noticed and hoped they'd iron out. When I downloaded the newest demo from the PS store, I was surprised at how much they've improved it though. If they keep on putting in effort, it could be a really great game come March.
Read the article a little closer and all it seems to be doing (video wise) is converting your media into the appropriate mp4 format. That's the same format needed for iPod, and I already have software that does this (Videora iPod Converter - it's free). If the "file management" stuff is well organized, it might still be worth a purchase though.
I'm going to have to read a little bit more, but I think I might end up getting this. First of all, it's the first mention I've seen of allowing the ps3 to access and play .avi files, which is important to me (bulk of my anime and tv stuff is in that format). Secondly, if you can manage it this way, you don't have to deal with accessing specific folder locations and stuff on the PS3. Granted, I haven't experienced it yet, but it sounds like it might require a bit of work at first to famili...
Do they still make the Jampacks?
I find it interesting that there are 458 user reviews when it hasn't launched outside of Japan yet. These are just the opinions of people who for the most part haven't touched the console. The editor's review is the only one that actually has any credence to it. The 4s and 9s are from people who love or hate the thing without having touched it.
Hey, what's up Kare' :)
or would pay that much NOT to have to wait in line. Could be a celebrity, athelete, CEO, who knows?
You do realize that the 2K series doesn't belong to Sony, right? It's Sega's property (at least, I think Visual Concepts is a subsidiary of Sega). Anyways, Sony's game is NBA '06. I personally don't trust ANY sports game coming from 989 studios, but that's just me. I don't think they've put out anything worthwhile since Bust a Groove and Jet Moto back on ps1.
If Heavy Rain (biggest source of Uncanny Valley), 8 Days, 2 Days to Vegas, and The Getaway change drastically, then I might have to admit that. Until then, I can't help but think it's just design preference. For example, both Insomniac and Naughty Dog made cartoony looking games intentionally. Now, they both have games that are more realistic looking, but upon finishing those, will head right back to the cartoony look. Especially in very violent games, I think occasionally providing a litt...
Ahh, gotcha. Guess next weekend's as good a day as Launch Day to have a party for your product :) Does give people time to master the songs first.
I'm fairly certain (as in, am going to go pick up my pre-paid copy tomorrow certain) that the game comes out tomorrow, the 7th. Regardless, I wish I could attend the party; I'm sure it'd be fun.
Nor does the system still boast 3 ethernet ports (back when everyone hoped it'd act as a router).
Just finished watching. Again, Sony can not seem to put out as polished an NBA game as the competition (2K7 was so much better). I was happy with everything else but Gundam, which just looked horrible to me. And the AI was lacking in the game as well.
I got the Sudoku; the presentation's pretty nice thus far, and you get a huge amount of puzzles per package. Sadly, I haven't been able to play the multiplayer of it yet :( Not too many people on when I am, I guess.
Can't wait for fl0w :)
