My "Windows PC" that's running WinXP (the only MS OS I've ever bought... like 10 years ago) on a dual boot? The only reason it's currently booted to XP is because Rane SSL doesn't run on Ubuntu (been meaning to try Mixxx, but haven't gotten around to it).

Please explain how it is an "essential component" if the UI can still be navigated and 99% of games can still be played with Kinect's functionality completely disabled (but not unplugged). If the console can still be used without Kinect functionality, then by definition it is not "an essential component."
I honestly feel sorry for people that are too biased and myopic to understand the implications of a net-connected facial/voice-recognition camera/microphone being promoted to the public by a PRISM pioneer.

They can still include it in the box and not require it to be plugged in for the console to operate, which (sans a Kinnect-less SKU) is all people are asking for.

We won't know until they tell us why it can't be unplugged (should be a simple question to answer... odd that they haven't done so), or until it's released and someone cracks it open. <...

I'll probably be picking up a Vita for remote play. I'd get one now just to have a new toy until the console release (and since I have goodness knows how many 'free' PS+ Vita games waiting in my download list), but I'm holding back in hopes of a bundle deal with the PS4.

If you pulled your head out of your ass long enough to actually read the article, you'd see that it was on the home screen, they had the parental controls turned on, and that the daughter was three years old. If they can't come up with a "family friendly" ad that adheres to the spirit of the "family settings," they shouldn't be putting the ads up...
This is the only thing keeping me from picking up a Vita. I mainly only want it to use with the PS4, but it would be nice to have a new toy to play with until the PS4 release. But I don't want to get one now just for them to release a new model or a bundle at a better price.
