I played through it in a few hours. The controls were done very well but the story was lackluster and it was way too short. I enjoyed it as it was a nice departure from Fallout 3, Gears, and LBP which have been getting lots of use lately but it wasn't something I'd give much replay consideration.
Candidate for MP of the year? Say what! Love the game but the MP is broken badly. It'll probably win the Spike for GOTY though but I'd say Fallout 3.
I must have just walked out of a vault because I have not experienced any bugs and I am 40 hours into it on the 360. It is my GOTY as of now; it's like an addiction when I power it up. What were the issues anyway?
I liked the worm section because it reminded me of old arcade games but my brother hated it. I really enjoyed the last few portions of the game but Cliffy did over-promise and under-deliver IMO however the gameplay was solid and quite fun.
Sonic has been bad for so long now that I don't think many people care which console gets it first. I've never been a huge fan but I know crap when I see it and the last few stuck badly so maybe this latest version will be better than the last effort.
Well I love my 360 and yes I found it somewhat amusing but the acting wasn't up to par for such an epic story. I'd also add that I am on my 2nd PS3 so take that! I am fortunate enough to not have experienced the RROD and I have both a launch console and an Elite model. It'll likely come though since the launch version is in my son's room but so far so good uhh... I mean lucky. I still have a working Atari 2600 which I sometimes break out to show my kids what gameplay used to consist of (they ...
I have high hopes for this title so maybe the wait will be well worth it.
The story was better this time around but it did leave some holes to be filled at a later date - I presume. I really enjoyed the co-op experience but the MP was badly affected with problems. The main issue I have is the unfulfilled Cliffy promises. You never felt like you were part of some grand mission as led to believe. A handful of cutscenes with other soldiers in the distance doesn't fit that description. However the gameplay was solid and I enjoyed being along for the ride. I'll revisit ...
Maybe my cheapa$$ brother will finally buy one if he's selected or if I am. Several good deals on amazon.
A classic if there ever was one. I nearly got divorced over that game with the countless hours I put into it but it would have been worth it. :)
I initially loved the WAW storyline but as the missions continued it just began to wear me down. I am still avoiding the MP until I have the downtime to play the hell out of it but the beta was awesome. As for Gears
there was no way it could hold the top spot after that monster first week. I got my copy and it was well worth the price for the missions - MP not so much.
I really like the first two Metal Gears but I just didn't get into this latest one. It was just too much and too often with the cut scenes. It played and looked great but just didn't grab my attention sadly because I really wanted to love it. Loved Gears 2 (great story and visuals) but it isn't GOTY IMO. My vote would go to Fallout 3. It just sucks you in and won't let go.
I like the update and it was very quick so color me surprised. I have no issue with the avatars or who ripped of whom cause that's debatable as well. The new dashboard is much better and looks cooler as well.
No problems here but I feel for those who experience them. However I don't put too much stock in forums when it comes to numbers so maybe it's not as big an issue as some fanboys would like for it to be. Anyway I like the new update and look forward to more customization in the future.
MP sucked on Gears and it sucks on Gears 2 so no matter how you dress up a turd, it's still stinks. Love the story but the multiplayer is not worth the time. It just doesn't excite me the way other MP's are doing. It is already in my rearview mirror but it should have already been fixed for those who enjoy it and I know craploads of people who do just that..
That is just stupid. The game is clearly well above that level of mediocrity. I am enjoying it so far but granted I am only a little ways into it. As of now it is a 8.5/10 and my scores are really what matters anyway. The gameplay is amazing since it is really COD4 controls and I am digging the story as of now. It looks very good also.
Like my guns, if you want it you can pry it from my cold dead hands. I am a late-comer to the Apple products and though I hate some aspects of the "Jobs World" I love my iphone and imac.
I have the beta but I have only played it about 30 minutes due to all the damn games I've bought in the past few weeks. Plus I don't want to be rushed when I finally sit down to enjoy it. I did kill a scout though right after crapping my pants when he walked by me. That was a great first experience much like walking rain with red eyes. I just finished Gears and am close to ending Fallout 3 so I do plan on putting some time in Sunday night. My PS3 has been collecting dust while the 360 has bee...
I beat it and it was good fun but the MP issues just kills it for me. Too long of waits to enter matches and booting back to main menu are a big waste of time. Loved the story though. Glad they brought in outside help to get it going along the better path. As for horde I got through thirty of the waves before the monotony wore too thin. I'll visit it again later but the variation (or lack thereof) issue is definitely there. Still the story won me over.
That review is about where I'd put the game too. I played it about three hours with my brother and it was really good, really addictive. They did a very nice job with the title all around. The replay is endless fun.
