I guess the lecture the longer you wait the greater the reward comes with greater age.
I see no benefit in rushing a product on the market if the developer sees room for improvement. Gothic 3 was so full of bugs the moment you started the game you felt like these bugs will crawl out of your PC. By the time The Witcher reached Gold status it was already collecting dust on store shelves for over half a year. But at least they managed to finish the product, the 360 is still as fault...
Actually the Wii and the PS3 have nothing in common except both are for playing games. One is a power monster with 1080p HD capabilities, the other one is a redressed Gamecube with motion controls and SD graphics. They aren't even in for the same market, the Wii is for casuals, the PS3 is for the hardcore gamers. Sure the PS3 has it's share of casual stuff, but the Wii has some hardcore games as well.
Stupidity is like a flu, it can never be extinct.
Microsoft has existed before most of you were even born, yet you base most of the stuff you write on the Xbox, 360 here 360 there. Windows is the world standard OS, this is huge, compared to that the Xbox is a tear drop in the ocean. An OS gets used by companies, households, governments and even the military.
Microsoft did a lot of "morally grey" things in the past, I am talking Windows 95 past, not Xbox. ...
Dem0n: Double check, Halo is a Microsoft game, Left 4 Dead, NOT a Microsoft game.
And what's wrong with playing the games on a PC? They do come out on PC you know, I've played Gears 1 on PC, and will play Gears 2 on PC because it will probably come out on PC in November, a year later just like Gears 1.
Dem0n: You should start learning something basic, like reading.
Bladestar: Production cost is covered by sales, sales are combined across platforms, whether a company ports a game to the PS3 or the 360 is completely irrelevant, they make more money on the PS3 because some games the companies have produced have sold more units on the PS3, or Microsoft has some fees we don't know about. Though Konami is a no brainer due to Metal Gear Solid 4.
The way you described it w...
The best current deal on a PSEye I could find right now was 20 Euros, average is about 30 Euros, this is cheap as hell. Plus it's a no brainer that they will bundle the Eye with the wands and sell the wands separately. From what it looks like the wands have sixaxis, dualshock, buttons and bluetooth. This is pretty much a standard controller with LEDs which the PSEye can track. They sure will cost more than a regular controller but don't expect the price to be too high.
Call me weird, but I could break something after losing a match in NBA Street, but I find a nice online match in an FPS shooter kinda relaxing, whether I win or lose. I was calm the whole time playing God of War 1 and 2, 2 of the goriest games I've ever played. But when it comes to sports games my aggression level is alarmingly high.
I like Sony a lot, but if you think I would go nuts over a Sony-Milo so to speak, wait for the day they announce one and watch me go after them for that.
The same Peter Molyneux that talked about the Fable 2 dog as if it was a real thing? The same Peter Molyneux that underperformed for years and as it seems years to come? It's not that his games aren't good, it's that his games don't deliver the stuff he keeps promising and therefore people get disappointed. I'm sorry if you don't want to hear the truth, but people have lost trust in Peter Molyneux and a fake SciFi concept of having conversations with an AI won't rebuild that trust either.
I've been called a blind Sony fanboy that couldn't accept the FACT that MS is taking gaming to a whole new level because I could smell the fishy stain Milo left behind. Well, what can I say, guess my vision is in tact after all. And MS, instead of hitting a new level in gaming, they reached a new low don't you think? Sony has barely managed to get the curve by saying the 05 Killzone 2 trailer was a target render, they surpassed it. I'd like to see MS pull that off with Milo, Killzone 2 only h...
You are clearly missing the point. Of course they want to make money, but there is nothing more satisfying than expressing your imagination and be successful with it.
And pointing out the _obvious_ limitations of the 360 makes me a fanboy? I'd say it makes you one because you are ignoring them. I don't like the Xbox much, and I have a growing hate for Microsoft which started back in the days with Windows 95, continued with Windows 98, over to ME and Vista, the Xbox just adds the ...
Sony pays for exclusives, they have 2nd party studios you know. Sony probably has more developement studios than the Xbox has games coming out this year.
The video game indrustry isn't simply business, it's creative work, where creative people are that don't want to waste their time producing the same crap over and over again. The want to create something they are proud of. Currently this means eliminate as many surrounding limitations as possible and a step away from the 360 tow...
These developers could assist in creating XIII and Versus XIII, the most anticipated titles Square Enix has announced, instead they've split their efforts up and progress slowly on each title, while the clearly better solution would be to combine the efforts and work on one game at a time so they could eventually release something worth while. Last time I checked Last Remnant was mediocre at best and I wasn't even aware that Star Ocean 4 was already released until 2 days ago, didn't seem to m...
Not because it is online, everything aside it is just another game they announced. They have a ton of games announced and seem not to get anything done, where's FFXIII? FF Versus XIII? Games that are long overdue. Instead, they announce and announce, it seems their dev teams are working more on CGI trailers for new games than on the actual games.
And this whole "westernize" "phase" they are in is just as stupid. Stick to things you've become famous and loved f...
The problem is, most Wii owners don't give a damn about graphics, they have their Wii, why buy another if they are satisfied with their current product. Casual gamers aren't really gamers, they just play those party games every now and then. For us it's passion, obsession or whatever. We need the newest, the best, the prettiest. Casuals don't care about all this stuff, they don't associate fun with these terms and thats why Nintendo might get in trouble with the WiiHD, but we will see.
This is Miyamoto you are talking about, have some respect.
Also, do you honestly believe Sonys new motion controller or Microsofts Natal are in any way a danger to Nintendo? When uninformed people are looking for a console, they look at the 3 consoles and see the Wii has motion control, first thought: "Cool!". Natal and Sonys wands will be on another shelve not instantly noticeable by the customer. And why buy 2 things when you have both things in the Wii, these people ...
Peter Molyneux is a visionaire, not a PR guy, he should stop talking about his games and people would see the games for what they are, instead he describes them as gods gift and people get disappointed because they were expecting something better.
Hardware not beeing enough is certainly not true for Fable. We have seen a fully open world game and how well it works through the game Gothic. Fables world consists of tiny little pieces each one a 10th the size of a decent FPS games l...
That is the usual way Microsoft handles things, trash the competition to draw attention away from the mess they produced. Until they are the only one left and can sit on their arrogant a s s e s. But I wonder why they still haven't realized that Sony isn't Linux, there is virtually nobody behind Linux, nobody owns Linux. Sony on the other hand is a international multi billion dollar company and MS is getting way ahead of themselves. While Nintendo still holds the crown as the industries most ...
I am not much of a Final Fantasy fan, in fact, the only Final Fantasy I liked was VIII (8), maybe because it's the only Final Fantasy to date that had a 16+ rating, that's why I am excited for Versus XIII because they said it'll be rated 18+. But I do wonder why they haven't showed anything at E3, I sure hope not because they stalled the developement because of the 360 version of XIII...
Well technically Crytek is a engine developer and FarCry and Crysis are "tech demos", like Quake 3 was for the id Tech 3 engine and Doom 3 for the id Tech 4 engine and so forth.
They are in for licensing the engine, maybe this time they manage to get a lot of devs on board. Epics UE3 is structured the same as UE2, devs are familiar with it already, takes them less time to produce decent games, hence the UE3 based games flood.
