The "fanboy bubble" as you call it, manifested itself while witnessing a RROD at a colleagues place myself while playing the back then new and exciting Assassins Creed. Furthermore the disc read error is no myth as I had trouble switching games while I had his Xbox for a weekend. Plus I lost 50 euros repaying him for wrecking G.R.A.W. 2 when I accidently tilted the Xbox for 5° while running the game, it scratched the disc beyond functionality.
My PS3 is sitting bel...
I am missing out on some great xbox games I won't deny that, simply for the fact that I wouldn't buy hardware that breaks down while I'm in the middle of a game. Even my NES and my Genensis (Mega Drive) are still working, with flaws, but working. And some of the games find their way to the PC anyway so.
It was in an Interview a year back or so, Yamauchi stated something along the lines of: "You know you are doing something right, if car manufacturers pay you to include their cars in your game."
I seriously doubt the tables have turned because they want to push realism a little further.
Naturally not every manufacturer pays them, but just do the math how much ~1000 individual licenses would cost, not including music and racetracks. A freaking fortune thats ...
Well I guess Forza is targeted at a younger audience, with the customizations and all, it wouldn't feel right in GT. Hey if it satisfies you go play it I'm not trying to keep you from getting it. But acting like Forza is the new King in town is, well, dumb.
The GT franchise and Polyphony Digital has proven over, and over, and over again that they deliver. It takes them 2-3 MONTHS to model a car, ~220000 polygons each car on close to or over 1000 cars. Every single detail has been captured. Auto enthusiasts appreciate that immense level of quality they are putting into GT5. There won't be any game on any platform any time soon that can even come close to the GT franchise, no matter how many games come out in between a GT sequel. Add to that 1080p...
The thing about polyphony is that they are getting payed by the manufacturers to include their cars in GT, unlike other developers who pay for every car license. And because of that the manufacturers are nitpicking about damage because they paid to showcase their cars, not to show off how to wreck them.
But I'm quite positive even Ferrari has given them the license to wreck by now.
That would be a very unwise decision. Unlike Ubisoft with Assassins Creed 2 and the PSP title, Sony wouldn't release 2 first party games of the same franchise on 2 different consoles at once, GT PSP will probably move a lot of PSP hardware and GT5 will move a lot of PS3s. Releasing both versions at the same time would hurt the sales of each version. By bridging a few months in between the same people who want to buy GT5 will probably end up buying GT PSP first because the wait is killing them...
Gran Turismo 5 will have close to or over 1000 cars all approximately ~220000 polygons each (GT4 cars had ~5000), every last bit of detail has been digitalized. Co ckpit (Stupid N4G word filter) view for every single car. About 80 race tracks. Although they possibly will release the game with car damage limited to certain game modes, I highly doubt that since it would feel incomplete in a game made by perfectionists. Running at 60 fps in full 1080p. Add to that the manufacturers pay Polyphony...
You seriously just compared Uncharted to Mass Effect? Really? How in the world do you compare a linear Action Adventure to an RPG? I'm speechless. Forza 3 surpasses GT5? With what? Again, speechless. GoW 3 and Halo in terms of hype, well, I agree, but unlike Halo 3 the hype is deserved.
And what Last guardian series are you talking about, The last Guardian is 1 game, a whole new IP, what series. And Team ICO has proven to be a very talented game developer as you can see with the...
A: L4D is from Valve, that's one argument why it sold so well.
B: It's on a say 250 million user installbase, you expected anything less?
Valve is for Ego Shooters what Westwood is for RTS Games.
I'm not saying it's a bad game, but just one year of developement for the sequel is not enough time to produce quality.
Well you should be able to tell from this sentence that I don't believe in god, therefore I don't care. And do I get hit by a lightning now because I haven't chosen my words carefully? Ridiculous.
What are you talking about. BluRay is the standard of the movie industry and happens to be in every PS3. Sony didn't develop the BluRay format, the BluRay group did, Sony is just part of it. So basically you are saying because some 30 million people, out of billions who don't give a rats ass about some gaming console but are interested in HD movies, have the opportunity to stream 1080p movies, those billions of people are going to buy a 360 instead of a BluRay player, making the Xbox 360 the ...
...such a lack of brain and still.
I've got news for you, BluRay is not going anywhere! BluRay is not Sony's puppet it's _the_ standard physical media now. FIY this affects OTHER INDUSTRIES not just a gaming console. The whole movie industry is not falling apart because some jerk said that everyone can stream a 1080p movie instantly (in Japan or Sweden no problem, try rest of the world) on A CONSOLE...
You know I sometimes think these people must be joking, I can't s...
Why, why do they have to have so many great 1st and 2nd party studios to throw these great titles at my face and get me all excited until I look in my wallet and get crushed because I spent so much money on great games already :(.
PC games do get pirated a lot, an awful lot. But see the big picture here. OMG 1 Million copies have been downloaded! 1st, where does this info come from, if it would be so easy to track the prisons would be full. 2nd, 1 Million is a large number, but it gets crushed in comparison. Yes, in the console world a million is huge, but on the PC? Try an installbase of over 250 million people, give or take.
And whoever thinks every downloaded game would, in a piracy free world, count as...
They have always claimed to be a Gaming platform bashing Sony for including all the multimedia functionality.
Now Sony keeps tossing out AAA titles like a popcorn machine and all MS has to offer is stuff like Netflix and that.
They kept bragging a PS3 is for movies, the Xbox is for games, well, no more games, just TV shows, movies and DLC for old games.
It's sad, quotes like "We have a list of Sony exclusives we plan on stealing" are just proof...
Exactly, Square Enix has devolved badly. Throwing announcements out like popcorn and producing mediocre games on the way. They claim to hate piracy, yet fail to produce a single title for the only piracy free platform. Income drops 31%, the reaction? Throw more games into the development cycle, delaying the bunch of games they've already announced and those are still far away from being finished... Seriously, they should fire the idiot who's in charge. Business decisions like that can ruin a ...
They should scrap that feature as soon as possible. Me and my clan members get kicked for no reason. Oh well yeah, the reason is they get their asses handed to them and can't stand it. HACKER CHAMMER GPS WALLHACK all day long and now they can votekick people for being good players. Nexon should really attach a title to you after they've checked the reported hack suspicions against you so the stupid brats would shut up already.
These so called Elite players (people with too much m...
I think 5 or 6 years would be more accurate, it's first release date was January 06. Now after 3 years of constant delay and a name change, they delivered good intentions, but awful gameplay. It had so much potential, but is failing on so many levels.
Because the majority of Xbox owners have a 12 GB HDD or even no HDD at all, and those were DVD games, no space left after 2 games max.
