The source engine required a high end computer back in 2004 when the first game to utilize the engine came out, Half-Life 2. They still use the engine after 5 years. So no, it wasn't intended to be accessible for a wide variety of systems.
Well the 360 is pretty much on halt when it comes to sales, history shows that when a console reaches a price point of 200 it starts to take off through the roof. The 360 has been at 200 for quite some time now, but hasn't been able to establish a groundbreaking lead like the PS2 did with the Gamecube and the Xbox 1 last generation. The PS3's cheapest SKU is twice the price and it still has sold almost the same amount this year.
The argument "no one buys the Arcade" is ...
What bias? What fanboy rant? Informing a narrow minded intellectually challanged individual who fails on logic doesn't put me in a biased fanboy corner now does it?
I agree I made negative remarks about Microsoft, but they have given enough reasons throughout the companies history to make valid predictions on what they will do next. I guess it makes everybody who hates Microsoft for Windows 95/95.2(98)/95.5(ME) and Vista also a Sony fanboy.
Again, you said the point ...
Well it has proven itself over and over that a lot of girls have a thing for the color, I have two sisters, twins, one has a pink laptop, the other one doesn't go near that, quote: "Buttugly piece of crap".
My girlfriend isn't fond of the color either, but she loves anything red. I even had to return the silver PSP I imported from the UK for her (I'm from Germany) because she found out about the red, God of War PSP. She likes the PSP and plays on it regularly, but I wou...
Move your hand to the back of your head, locate the switch and turn your brain on, please.
Sony promises a ten year life cycle, go check at your local store to see if they have a PS2 on the shelves, right next to the PS3. What does that mean? It means the PS2 is still being supported by Sony, in it's 9th year, will you find an Xbox 1 or a Gamecube in the store? No you won't, because they have been discontinued.
And to clarify it further, it means you will have full 1...
Crytek is an engine developer, Farcry and Crysis are simply put, tech demos. Just like Quake 3 Arena was a just a tech demo for the id Tech 3 engine, though ended up beeing one of the best online shooters of all time, Doom 3 did the job for id Tech 4, and the Unreal series are also tech demos for the Unreal engines.
Crytek is hyped because of that, they make amazing engines. The CryEngine 2 is a beast, I have seen comparison shots of real world beach and jungle scenes redone with...
Is it me or are there still people out there who don't know that you can create an account for every store worldwide, download and buy the content? Why not just buy it in the US store? You need a credit card for every store so I see absolutely no problem with that.
It's a shame that companies still have trouble with worldwide releases, hell even the sloppy movie industry somehow manages to get it done. But still if you have the option to go game-shopping worldwide, do it. Thanks ...
For a moment there I thought they were talking about Linux...
How long does it take to port from an arcade PS3 to a home PS3? Just release the damn game already it has been out in the arcades since what, 2007?
"Activision and E3 reveal GamesCon 2009 line-ups."
A 3 instead of an E would be considerend 1337 in the gaming world... but an A? Come on.
Even if the costs are almost as high as the revenue, nobody, not you, not me, not a huge company would let 1 million dollars in PURE profit lay on the table for not porting it to another platform. I highly doubt they make "just" 1 million of pure profit on the PS3 but even if it's just a mil, it's still a black number on their bank account.
The threat was nothing more than hot air blown into the sky.
PS: Royalty fees are rumoured to be lower when it comes t...
I don't know why I even reply to this...
Since this is a gaming website let's use the consoles as an example: A lot of people are screaming competition is good "without Sony there would be no... without MS there would be no..." etc etc, yet the same people usually hate on the EU for executing the LAW that assures the existance of competiton, without it every big company would have a clear path to crush every small company that is in their way, if the EU would stop remin...
If he stays true to his word it won't come out on the 360, if I recall correctly he said something along the lines of: "It was such a pain to deal with Microsoft to release Braid, never again."
Just repeating his words, that's all.
"but just think how much nicer Killzone and Uncharted would look on Xbox360 technology - truly amazing I bet"
In case you lack braincells and really mean what you just stated...
Name 1 360 exclusive that comes even remotely close to what Uncharted 1, ONE, yes a game from 2007, has delivered visually. You can't, there is no game that comes close, I am not a graphics whore but that doesn't mean I am blind.
We haven't seen any game on the 360 deli...
Well the PSEye wasn't buried beneath a big pile of games. But Sonys lineup is like 99% hardcore and the PSEye is not a hardcore peripheral, the wands kinda are, that's why I hope they approach the wands with a lot of AAA games utilizing them. A medival RPG using both wands as shield + sword and I'd have to look in a dictionary to remind myself what daylight is.
Думаеш? Возможность есть, но не болшая, по моему.
Here in Germany we are slowly getting where Sweden has been for 10 years. One provider offers up to 100 mbit connections for acceptable prices now (49,99 € / month). What I don't get is, 99% of websites who are posting BluRay-doom articles are based in the US. And all I know the standard there are 3-6 mbit connections. No way in hell could you stream a DVD quality movie over such connection, not to mention a 720p HD movie, forget 1080p this is completely out of question. This also includes so...
"the 360 version looked superior", because the 360 was the lead platform! ... No wait, PS3 was.
They look identical.
Well, ID software hasn't released a game they made themself this Gen. Quake 4 was made by Raven Soft. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was made by Splash Damage. They have the ID logo on the box because they use the ID tech 4 engine.
I said the same when the Infamous vs. Prototype debate was going on, got 8 disagrees within 20 minutes, 0 agrees. Just shows how many gamers are on this site.
Dantes Inferno is a blatant rip off, let's not hide the obvious elephant in the room, and I like it, it sure shortens the wait for God of War 3, it still is coming in 2009 is it? Anyway, I enjoyed playing Prototype, though it lacked replay value, but it can't be beat in terms of traveling through the world. Played the hell ...
