The best example of Disc space limiting creative freedom and all that is Devil May Cry 4. Do you honestly believe you had to play through the game twice to see the ending, was because the developers thought it would be a good idea for the player to visit the exact same locations, killing the exact same bosses twice, just with different characters? Seriously now, if that is not an indicator of disc space limitations then what is.
1, just 1 Killzone 2 level is around 2GB big. Singl...
Well our server is pretty much filled up, we even have ZCPH, Zone crashes per hour, 1000 people in Praag at once, sounds amazing but it's not if you have to wait 5 minutes every 30 minutes till the server go up again.
This aside, Mythic dug their own grave, the RvR is nothing like they have promised, it all comes down to Zerg vs. Zerg, no skill involved 90% of the time. Last patch pretty much ruined 50% of the "OK" parts of the game, ergo, nothing left at all. I am stil...
Just words, Jack Thompson claims we do that on a daily basis. Seriously though, if this guy would have a decent amount of brain cells he would realize that all his talking is bullshit. I guarantee you if every gamer would be a potential killer he would be dead and burried a long time ago. But he is very much alive and still on his idiotic witch hunt. If he would go after the Mafia... you know what would happen. And he has the nerves to put us in the same category.
Gran Turismo has no competition...
I really really hope so, my Linux machine is runnung for 3 years straight without rebooting or formatting, it still runs at the speed like on day one when I painfully learned how to install Gentoo 2005 (Gentoo is, IMO, one of the best Distros out there, but also one of the most difficult to install, at least back in the days when you still had to install it via console with 30+ paged installing instructions).
My Vista box is crawling after 2 weeks and has to be rebooted, and I re...
Don't correct a correct statement, Linux is the lightest piece of software and the fastest, but it highly depends on your configuration. You can boot it from a floppy disk and have a fully operational text based linux, with a text based web-browser if you'd like so. If you overload it with software and additional plugins and so on, it would still be way faster than any Windows OS out there. Plus it would look way better, and "feel" way better (Haven't used it in a while, PC gaming i...
7 year old... was released in Japan in 2001
The xbox has disc read errors, overheating problems, makes more noise than than a hover and scratches discs when tilted 5° while running... "but the repair is free!"... say that again when your warranty runs out and you are looking at 3 red blinking LEDs. My PS1 still works, my PS2 still works and they will probably still work in 20 years, by that time not a single working Xbox360 will exist.
Edit: He has no bubbles left :(.
You think cross-breeding 50% of ICQs functionality and a online store is innovative?
I bet you are on your <Insert 2 digit number here> th 360.
1 year headstart, already surpassed in Japan and Europe and catching up in NA. 1 year is a long time considering you've only lived 12 of them so far.
Microsoft doesn't specialize in software, they steal things and market them as if they were their own, google AmigaOS. And the next xbox will have a physical ...
Well KillZone2 is the first game Guerilla Games is making for the PS3 and it uses whopping 4 SPUs... out of 6 (one is disabled, 1 used by the OS, 6 for the developers), the PS3 has limits, but they are not known yet. PS3 is clearly capable of handling a game of KillZone 2's calibre in 1080p, I can only guess why it isn't and my guess would be, Guerilla didn't want to screw it up by promising too much and not being able to deliver. Let's face it 1080p is massive, almost 2x higher than 720p. We...
First of all, I never owned an Xbox360 nor do I plan to (33% failure rate doesn't appeal to me) and I enjoyed Gears1... on the PC. I seriously can't think of any other game that comes out for the 360 that interests me. Fable 1 is crap, it can't hold a candle to the Gothic series even though they have more bugs than enemy types. Fable 2 still has no open world, in Gothic, if you can see a place, you can go there without being held back by fences a baby could crawl over. It has nice features I'...
If I got it right you think those 11 games are rumours because Sony is smarter than to burn off their aces on day one of a 3 day event?
Stop that stupid thing about PS3 fans having a Sony altar at home. Activate your brain instead and do the math. Tekken 5, one would think a fighting game doesn't need much disk space but it was 4,5GB big. Now, a console generation later when processing power is like 10x higher (PS2 had 297 MHz), don't you think a Tekken 6 would use some more disc space than DVD9 has to offer? So in order to make it fit on a DVD9 they will scrap features, compress textures or even decrease them in size and wha...
KillZone 2 is running at 720p@60 frames, unless they changed it to 1080p, which I doubt. Virtua Tennis... uhm, well not as impressive as GT5P, 1080p @ 60 FPS with 16 unbelieveably detailed cars (220000 Polygons each) on a very detailed racetrack.
Next time you respond, try to make sense at least. Where have I said anything about processing performance. I mentioned disc space and the 360 clearly has a disadvantage here. My point was if Tekken 5 filled a DVD5 on a PS2 what does Tekken 6 need then, a whole lot more than a DVD9 has to offer I am certain of that. So in order to make it fit on a DVD9 they will scrap features, compress textures or even decrease them in size and what not.
Truth is, the 360 is powerful, but you wi...
Tekken 6, I so was hoping for a late 08 release... thank you Microsoft for ruining another great franchise by gimping it to DVD9 size and delaying it...
Tekken 5, 4,5GB, that's a full DVD5
Tekken 6, a lot larger textures, models with more polygons, higher detail in maps, new characters, a lot of customization stuff.
You don't have to be Einstein to know that this exceeds a DVD9. And who would put a fighting game on 2 DVDs, so instead it will be gimped do...
...with full usage of the size capacity of a BluRay disc?
Key is gone.
I agree that GoW2 is a real blockbuster title, that came out in 2007 for the Playstation 2, but why would you want to compare it to LBP...
I have to admit, chasing people with logic who buy a console with 33% failure rate is an impossible mission.
PS: I know what he means... the 'e' after the 'G' is missing...
This game has been delayed for 3 years, first known as Sabotage 1943, it's first release date was January 2006, then Winter 2006, then January 2007 and so on. At some point it disappeared from the news and a few months later Velvet Assassin popped out of nowhere with a January 2008 release date.
Well here we are, end of April 2009 and it finally hits the storeshelves, let's see if the delay was all worth it, considering they had actual beta gameplay shown at GC 2005 and it was lo...
