This demand isn't manufactured, if that's what you are suggesting. Switch is currently on track to have it's best year ever, and has the potential to sell more in one year than any console has ever (provided they keep this momentum).
It's just a popular console, and it's hard to keep up with demand.

Last week I predicted around 700k-800k for Monster Hunter Rise week for Switch. Looks like it was right in the middle. Both PS5 and XSX sales are up from last week. PS5 is up around 60k and XSX is up around 20k.
PS4 and X1 are staying steady at 39k and 18k respectively.

Oh yeah, most agree that Uncharted 2 is the best one. But I've seen a lot of people claim that the series as a whole is overrated despite me personally loving them.
Again, just one of those things. The more the fans the more the people who arent.
I find the higher the metacritic score the more divisive the game can be. BotW, RDR2, GTAV, and even Uncharted 2 have all, in recent memory, had a split of those who think they are "okay" and those who think they are "masterpieces". Games like Windwaker and MGS2 were divisive during their time and now I see most people looking back fondly at these two games. Other games, such as Goldeneye, were beloved for their time but playing them now is pretty difficult.
Crazy how Switch sales really exploded. This graph essentially shows that the Switch at launch was selling at the same pace the XSX is selling currently. Now the Switch is the 9th best selling videogame console and might be the fifth by the end of the year. No offense to Xbox, but I don't think this is going to happen for them.
PS5 sales are much higher than both. Sony knows how to start off their home consoles with success.
This is the week before Monster Hunter Rise too. I'd expect a 300k boost minimum next week for the Switch. So 700-800k. Switch is looking to have a crazy year for hardware sales.

I think they are suggesting that you'll have to buy the game again to play it on PS5 if they do make a PS1 library available for PS5. Which I'd agree with, that's probably what would happen.
Monster Hunter Rise sold 1,302,132 units in Japan it's first week. Monster Hunter World sold 1,245,169 on PS4 in it's first week. Sales are practically a match (a difference of 60k is within the estimation confidence interval) which is awesome. World was a huge success and it's looking like Rise will be too!

If you play other games that aren't exclusives then why would you need to find a different hobby? Most of those third party games are on Xbox and PC. They aren't getting the cool exclusives, but they are still getting a solid 90% of games anyway.
Especially PC as the vast majority of really old games still work on new PC's. Heck, I can buy a game from 1998 and have it work on my PC natively.

IIRC Nintendo announced in 2017 that you wont be able to add points in 2018, and in 2019 you will no longer be able to purchase anything anymore, even with Wii points. Then they said "in the future" they will remove the ability to redownload content, but I don't think that has happened just yet.
I didn't like when the Wii Shop went down a couple years ago and I don't like that the PS Store is for legacy consoles.

I loved the PSP. Crisis Core, both God of Wars, Dissidia, MGS: Portable Ops and Peace Walker, GTA LCS and SAC, Daxter...a lot of great games.
Still, well deserved for the Switch! Next week the GBA is going down. Should surpass PS3, 360, Wii, and PS1 by years end too.
I really want some Metroid Prime 4 news with a teaser trailer of gameplay. Pikmin 4 would also be fantastic. I would also like to hear about that new IP that Monolithsoft has been supposedly cooking up.
Otherwise, I'm sure we will see some Diamond and Pearl remakes, maybe some surprise for later in the year (like December). They will probably announce a port for beginning of 2022 as there seems like there is a pattern of that (e.g. Bayo 1+2 was Feb 2018, NSMBU was Jan ...
