That would be much to big a performance gap for A) a device that is also a handheld and B) a mid generation upgrade. They can't just stick chips inside of the dock because it needs to have fast and efficient access to the MOBO. Doing so would cost a lot of money for much less performance upgrade than would really be necessary. In addition, they wouldn't create an iterative console where a large majority of games couldn't be played on the previous iter...
Switch is down compared to last week and this week last year. Switch is still up YoY, but it's hovering. If Nintendo announces some new Nintendo games for release this year (like the rumored DK, Metroid, and Super Mario Party 2) then I think Switch will remain ahead by a good margin and could cross that 30M threshold in one year. If not then I expect 2020 to catch up and it either be a wash or Switch down a few percent YoY.
PS5 and XSX sales got a boost! Awesome. Both c...
Por que no los dos?
I figured Forza Motorsport would come before Horizon 5, tbh. But maybe they want to make Motorsport next gen exclusive so they will develop it for a couple more years.
I really don't want any more publishers being purchased tbh. It's great when more people can enjoy these games...not less. As long as the publisher isn't at risk of dying they should remain independent, IMO.
This is how you know it's a Sony fan site when the guy who gives credit to Sony for Final Fantasy, Street Fighter and even Castlevania gets a bunch of agrees.
I'm happy as a PS4 Pro owner, and someone who does not currently have a PS5. However, I do wonder what a God of War game tailored specifically for next-gen would have looked like. The PS4 one had amazing graphics.
Nintendo pushes the game industry in a lot of ways too. In fact, a lot of the technology in the Dualsense was utilized in Nintendo products first. From the analog sticks to the haptic feedback. Sony pushes the game industry as well, of course, like with VR and their adaptive triggers.
I don't think any one console manufacturer would be good at unilaterally ruling the console market. I think the checks and balance approach is what gives us gamers the best experiences.
It's definitely going to hit 100M, and should do so by the end of the year.
86.10M units puts the Switch above the 360. If Switch keeps up this pace it will outsell the PS3 in 3-4 weeks. Then it's all eyes on the Wii.
The best selling game on PS4 (GTA V) is also a remaster of a PS3 game.
Square-Enix got away with it with FFXII Zodiac edition. Well, I guess it was $50, but still. I agree though, this shouldn't be $60, which is why I'm sticking with my Wii copy instead of upgrading.
That Octopath Traveler style DQ 3 remake looks pretty good. Here is to hoping Square uses that for other franchises (*cough cough* Final Fantasy 6)
Actually I think the Famicom holds the record. 1983-2003. Really don't know why people were buying those for so dang long. Then I think it's Atari 2609, Gameboy, then PS2.
@Jeece
The PS3 is Sony's worst selling home console. Unless there is a major turn of events, the PS5 is practically guaranteed to sell more than that console. It just isn't going to be interesting. The gap is already almost five million. It will just get larger and larger. The only ground the PS3 is going to make is in year 4, but, by that point, the PS5 will already be closing in PS3's total sales. Which it will likely eclipse before the end of year 5.
...
Pointless comparison IMO. It's like comparing the Switch to the GameCube.
I mean, the PS5 is already ahead by 4.81M units. It will beat the PS3 by at least 20M but likely more.
Those eshops were limited to begin with and didn't even allow game purchases within the store.
It's literally for the countries that never had full access. Bringing that up is a non-issue, and you know it.
Kirby 3D. Ever since Mario Odyssey I've been wondering how a Kirby game would be with similar concepts.
The Wii U eShop isn't closed, what do you mean?
They are typically fairly accurate, though not perfect. But, yes they've been under the rumor category for a while
