Already decided to not buy any more PC games from EA but this just cements my decision.
At £40 per digital copy they are just taking the piss now.
And Sim City is even more expensive with always online DRM for a predominately single player game.
Well you reap what you sow. Bioware wanted their games to appeal to a larger, more casual market and they got that.
Don't be running away now as you got what you wanted, warts and all.
Steam has more than 4 million users. Most nights it has 4 million concurrent users not total users.
I think the Steambox will do very well. I just hope it doesn't affect their PC store by putting more resources into the Steambox than Steam itself.
Valve are already building the groundwork with Big Picture for TVs and have a section for PC games with gamepad support.
Competition is good and I hope Sony and MS are threatened by Valve move i...
I played SWTOR for a month, finished the storyline of my character and quit.
I'll just stick to indie PC games and guild wars 2 from now on. I have The Secret World to play soon which will be my last subscription MMO. After that GW2 will be released and will fill my MMO gaming needs for the foreseeable future.
Blizzard will be in a heap of trouble quite soon if they go ahead with the RMAH in Diablo 3 and I can't wait for the shitstorm to happen.
Diablo 3 is one platform of boxed retail sales not including digital compared to 2 platforms for Max Payne 3 on consoles as the PC version isn't even out yet.
Man these sales figures are really screwed up as digital isn't included in their estimates.
And Diablo 3 is a damn good game btw. Enjoy the once PC exlusive Max Payne franchise console gamers.
Gimme! I loved torchlight on PC :)
Publishers/console makers have never cared. They are in it for the short term profit they can milk out of the consumer.
I wish console gamers would get this through their heads. They are a business and your feelings do not matter. They'll do whatever they can to squeeze the last penny from your mothballed pocket :)
PC games are cheaper because the publishers don't pay a royalty fee to anyone like they do with sony, MS and nintendo as no one owns the PC platform.
This is why alot of pc gamers are annoyed by the higher prices of games from the major publishers that have been introduced over the last 2-3 years.
I don't buy many AAA games as they are a rip off and pretty generic crap compared to the indie scene that produce some of the most innovative, interesting a...
I don't think publishers realise that if used sales go so do new games sales as alot of people use the sale of their old games to finance their new games budget.
If a price increase on games is also introduced for the next consoles this will be the beginning of the end for the big publishers and makers of consoles.
I'll be playing Borderlands 2 on PC as I did with Borderlands 1.
I'm currently waiting patiently for Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2 and The Secret World.
PC gaming has never been better in my opinion. So much choice for games I'm actually swamped with games to play.
I'm also currently supporting 3 projects on Kickstarter and a few other indie games which are in development atm. :)
I have a PS3 as well but I haven't turned ...
Pirates aren't customers. I wish developers would put more effort into their actual customers satisfaction than people who don't buy their games.
And how good would your consoles tech be without pc gamers buying that tech from the tech companies?
AMD and nvidia are both involved in the consoles but it needs pc gamers to buy from them initially to make them a profit so they can R&D tech for the consoles.
Chicken and the egg comes to mind. What came first the consoles or the pc technology to be able to develop them?
Witcher 2 wasn't particularly a big budget game as it cost only $10m to produce and sold over 1m copies and counting as a PC exclusive to date.
So all these big budget developers saying pc isn't a viable platform is complete crap.
If you make a good game that the pc gamers want to play they will buy it. If you make a shoddy console port and expect pc gamers to buy it, good luck with that.
It's like kingdoms of amalur for the pc. T...
People have been saying that for the last 10-15 years.
I think the console market will crash myself as publishers get more and more greedy their customers will wise up and stop buying their crap.
It's happened before, it'll happen again.
I'm gonna resub for the next month but that's it for me.
I don't feel it can hold my attention for the long term. Just so little to do at 50 apart from gear grind which i hate. The pvp is average at best.
I shall be playing The secret world in april and waiting for guild wars 2 to release sometime this year.
I've been watching skyrim streams for the past week from, guess what, the pirated xbox360 version of skyrim.
You can't pirate an encrypted, digital version of any game on pc before release now via steam but i do see all of x360 games a week or 2 before release on torrents.
Digital downloads on pc is far more advanced than on consoles as we can get any game digitally on pc now but consoles are still desperately under the grip of the brick n mortar ret...
Hmm i thought PC gaming was dead! :D
Yeah it was released today i think on UK and EU stores on PSN for £50/60 euros which is ridiculous pricing.
EA and many other publishers have to get with the times if they wanna compete competitively.
The PC digital distribution market is much more evolved than the consoles on pricing structure, publishing and variety.
But even the PC get publishers trying to push up the price of alot of their digital games to £35-40.
I'm guessing u could craft arrows for yourself or any other weapon with the right materials.
I don't think you understood what he said.
He meant the devs use PCs to create the game not that the PC is the lead platform.
Most devs don't have a clue about developing specifically for PC nowadays. This is why we get shoddy ports and also to save money when the publisher spends £50mil on marketing their console games.
