That's their decision but we have so many digital stores on PC now one more may not be welcome by many PC gamers and it's locked to Windows 10 as well.

I don't want another one to deal with as I already have 5 download clients I have games on.

We'll see what the reaction is nearer the time of Quantum Break's release.

Well those strings attached may just hang them on PC platform.

There are many PC gamers that don't trust MS, including myself, with anything store related after the G4WL abomination.

I want to play Quantum Break but if there's too many hoops to jump through for just a game or 2 I just won't bother.

MS are their own worst enemy trying to make every game exclusive to their latest OS and Xbox store on PC.

Plenty more...

Totally agree.

I'm very wary of Microsoft's motives once again.

Quantum Break seems like a great game but what's the catch? It's Windows 10 exclusive and Windows Store exclusive that's what the catch is.

I am using Windows 10 as it's a good OS with some tweaks to disable all MS marketing spyware which is built into it.

But I have major doubts in using Windows Store to buy anything from MS. Their last t...

Well MS did abandon the PC platform for the Xbox console over 10 years ago now.

We've had false promises from MS to support the PC platform again over those 10 years and nothing ever came of it.

This is the first time that MS have done anything serious for the PC platform.

I'll give MS a chance again if they are serious about supporting the PC. I just hope it's not a short lived experiment by them to placate the PC gamers.

Well it's on Xbox One too so graphics fidelity and consoles don't really go hand in hand.

Direct X 12 was meant to be more efficient so we'd need lower specs on PC not higher ones.

Or was that all marketing BS from Microsoft and co?

I can't see this doing well on PC. It has the highest recommended system requirements I've seen so far on PC and the game will probably be exclusive to Windows store as well as Windows 10 exclu...

Already preordered Firewatch for PC. Looking forward to it tomorrow (9th).

And The Long Dark is definitely at home on the PC as it started on the PC. Most survival game do.

Jonathan Blow always complains about piracy and the world ending even though sales are equal on PC and PS4.

In his eyes me not buying The Witness is a lost sale to him and probably worse than any piracy inflicted.

He can kiss my ass I'll buy it when it...

Only for AAA games anything else PC runs the show.

I wonder if console gamers would be happy with just having AAA games as their games library and no indie games at all :)

That would mean no Witcher 3, No Man's Sky, Ori and the Blind Forest, Divinity Original Sin, Darkest Dungeon, Firewatch, Project Solus, The Witness, Rocket League etc etc :)

Would console gamers be able to survive with just yearly updates from Ubisoft, EA, Activision an...

Well so-called AAA games is a small part of the PC platform library.

There is many more games on PC that consoles gamers have never heard of making profits year after year.

It's the reason why AAA games on PC don't sell as well as on consoles. They are just another games to us.

Whereas on consoles AAA games are treated like the 2nd coming of Christ when released.

Our budgets are spread out over hundreds of games each ...

It also goes the other way.

Without PC gamers buying the hardware from AMD and nvidia bringing the prices down the consoles would be a lot more expensive.

How would you like to pay $1000 for your console if the hardware price wasn't reduced over time?

The only reason you see lower sales of games on PC than consoles is because on PC we have a lot more games to choose from so sales are spread thin across a wider range of games being sold. ...

You realise the files for cheating are on consoles too right?

This is a massive oversight by Ubisoft and very incompetent of them to have files that can change stats client side.

I hope they encrypt them before launch.

They should just abandon the survival part of the game as they neglected it since the start of Early Access for Battle Royale.

That's where their time and resources have gone on the PC version.

The funny thing is H1Z1 was just meant to be a hardcore survival zombie game. Battle Royale came after as an addon to the main H1Z1 game.

SOE were then bought out by a private equity group, changed names to Daybreak Games Company and it went downhi...

I'd rather buy indie games than AAA games at full price. I generally shop around for the best price for AAA games but not so much for indie games.

The AAA publishers have no excuses for releasing a game that's unoptimised when most of them are multi billion dollar companies but they do.

This is why gamers attitude towards the value of games these days has plummeted. You never know how the game will turn out especially on PC.

No if I believe something is too expensive I wait for the price to go down or find it cheaper elsewhere other than Steam.

The developer can price the game at whatever price he wants it's doesn't mean people will pay that price.

I have way too many games now to worry about running out of things to play. Over 1000+ games on steam at the last count with many more on Origin, Uplay and GoG.

I'll support developers that deserve my suppo...

I wish Jonathan Blow would make up his mind.

One article he's ranting about rampant piracy and this one he's over the moon breaking sales records and will be able to create the next game with a comparable budget or slightly higher.

Nearly 39k sales on steam now at $40 price point. Not too bad really for a niche title. It'll only get higher as more people are told about it by word of mouth.

I wish some developers and publishers wou...

I shall.

XCOM 2 comes way before some pretentious puzzle game from Jonathan Blow.

It's £30 on steam store for me in UK.

I don't pay £30 for AAA games never mind a indie puzzle game.

If it was £15-20 I may have bought it but £30 is more than I'm willing to pay for any game.

Jonathan Blow can blame piracy, the weather, economy and the meaning of life all he wants for low sales. A niche game is a niche game and he's not going to get £30 from millions of people that are mainstream gamer...

Well next time ask WB Games or Rocksteady to cut corners and develop a piss poor port on their next game for consoles and let's see how you react :)

I'm sure you'll bend over and take it like a good little console fanboy.

Btw at least get your facts right.

Phil Fish - Fez

No one is taking anything tangible from a shop shelf here.

This is 1's and 0's which can be infinitely reproduced for relatively low demand.

Never compare a physical shop and it's products which can be stolen and removed and compare it to a digital item which can be cloned ad infinitum. They are apples and oranges.

It's copyright infringement and you can argue that piracy is stealing all day long but it's not.

3726d ago 4 agree4 disagreeView comment

Sorry Mr Blow I can't buy everything.

It's on my wishlist on steam but other games took precedent. I'll probably buy it later down the line when the price is more reasonable.

We aren't all fking made of money :)

Btw piracy does not equal a lost sale so just forget about it. Concentrate on your actual customers instead of the customers you never had.

That's exactly what I'm doing apart from playing The Division beta this weekend as well :)

Great start to the year for PC gaming :)

Also Crashlands, Slime Rancher, Oxefree, and a few more games :P
