It's been poorly optimised for the last 6 months. No changes whatsoever.
Why should I stay around when it runs so poorly that you can't even test properly?
This is early access not a QA testing ground. I paid my money I expect some patches to help with optimisation considering it supposedly launches in 6 months on all platforms.
The developers have actually done more work to do with optimisation on Xbox than they have on PC.
...
Of course Xbox beats PC concurrent players. It's been out 6 months on PC and sold 2.3 million copies for the damn company and the game still isn't optimised.
At it's peak the concurrent player base was around 85k which has dropped to 55k now after 6 months. I was one of those players till I stopped due to the poor optimisation the game had and still does to this day on PC.
ARK is just one of many survival games on PC in Early Access and none of th...
I call those kinds of people trolls :)
They have nothing to offer the gaming community apart from their miserable existence to try to piss other people off.
Just ignore and they fade away :)
Exactly it's not a Battlefront game it's a CoD game in sparkly Star Wars graphics.
You can only polish a turd so much before people realise it is just a turd after all :)
Before Battlefront it was Arkham Knight on PC and after that Just Cause 3.
It's been a year of AAA game disappointment on PC. I'm glad indie devs took the reigns and showed up the AAA publishers for what they are.
Soulless, greedy and lacking...
Steam isn't a Microsoft platform.
Microsoft make zero money on any PC releases unless they are the publishers even though it's mostly on Windows.
I don't regard PC gaming as anything to do with Microsoft apart from supplying the OS. They burned that bridge when Xbox came out in 2001.They stopped supporting PC gaming that year and haven't done anything of note since then.
Square-Enix are the publishers on Steam.
Damn we have Dragon's Dogma, Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, The Witness and now Rise of the Tomb Raider in January.
Great time to be a PC gamer but hard on the wallet.
XCOM 2 in February too.
@Wallstreet37
Really?
Most of the interactions and base modules weren't available in the alpha from what I saw.
And then we get this poor quality video and muppet try to play this game. They must have gone to the most boring parts of the game world to die over and over again.
This is probably the worst representation of The Division I've seen so far.
It's why there was an NDA for alpha. The game w...
Seriously?
You don't need a beast of a PC at all.
Both ran on the Xbox which is hardly a technical marvel.
Also Gears 1 has already been released on PC before years ago.
You mean 1st party PS4 exclusives aren't going to PC.
Most if not all 3rd party PS4 exclusives are going to PC or was already on PC in first place.
The PC platform is getting many of both 3rd party console exclusive games this time.
Best of both worlds on PC atm :)
And this is why you don't allow alphas on consoles :)
Most console gamers are too used to completely finished and polished games.
When a game is in alpha they think it's a finished product which is as far from the trust as you can get.
The beta in January will be more close to the finished product than this alpha is.
Never judge an alpha on what the final game will be like. You're just asking to be disappointed. ...
@343_Guilty_Spark
Tomb Raider 2013 sold 3 million on PC alone.
Tomb Raider is the complete opposite of niche.
A game that is niche is one that is popular within a certain community but doesn't have mass market appeal.
It has nothing to do with sales numbers but everything to do with how broad an appeal the game has.
I would say the Souls games are niche titles, Bloodborne would be included in that.
Tomb Raider will have a similar problem next year on PC as XCOM 2 is releasing around the same time.
We'll see how well it does on PC then.
Also I think a lot of people weren't happy about the timed exclusive deal with Microsoft so they may wait to get it cheaper later in the year.
We have some great games on PC so one game out of the many we already have on backlog isn't going to excite us as much as it would do on the starved co...
Just Cause 3 on steam sold around 255k copies.
Many people got a refund though due to the poor performance of the game.
Developers really have to bring out a great game now on PC or people will just refund them on steam.
The sloppy game releases are not tolerated any more due to Steams refund policy. That's a good thing for customers but not so much for lazy developers :)
I think Rainbow Six Siege will do better long term...
It's on steam for preorder now at £23.99.
Never played this myself on PS3 but will be getting it on PC in January :)
No Man's Sky is coming day and date on PC with PS4.
Can't wait to play NMS on PC. So many great games coming out next year :)
I'm guessing 6 months after if that. Any longer and it loses momentum and hype like Rise of the Tomb Raider will for PS4 gamers.
Yup but Homeworld Remastered Collection has been out on steam for quite a while now.
Really good remaster of the old games :)
I thought it was?
That's what the console fanboys keep telling me and everyone else :P
What's a new indie game got to do with Tomb Raider?
Not all games sell well on PS4.
The developer behind The Solus Project developed games for PC (The Ball and Unmechanical).
They are a team of 5-10 people so they can't release on every known platform.
Those aren't the biggest games next year for everyone as they are PS4 exclusive so they are just the biggest games in the Playstation bubble not gaming as a whole.
You see for me XCOM 2 would be one of the biggest game on PC in 2016.
And Quantum Break would be the biggest game on Xbox One.
Each to their own. Big marketing presence does not mean good game btw :)
Apart from customer service where steam is way behind everyone else.
They put the developer's needs first before the customers. That's just wrong and needs to change ASAP.
