No platform is the "master race" but the consoles, especially PS4, were propped up by PC indies in it's first few months/year of it's existence. Without those indie games you'd have had very few games to play on PS4.

Exclusives isn't something to be proud of. They exist to give each console some relevance and purpose. Without exclusives they lose all that and people might as well game exclusively on PC.

I would prefer it if developers would do a bit more R&D on improving AI than higher graphics fidelity and resolutions.

4k resolution isn't obtainable for many people even if you have a machine that can do it. You still need the display to output at 4k. That is still a very small niche market even on PC platform.

It seems like Microsoft are trying to skip a few generations with 4k. How about taking baby steps and trying 1440p or 2k first then 4k wh...

I reckon quite a few as there hasn't been a massive performance improvement for PC gaming till now with 1070/1080 and 480. We are also getting new CPUs from Intel and AMD this year and next as well.

End of 2017 is a long time technology wise with new improvements and iterations of new and existing graphics cards and CPUs coming thick and fast for the next 2-3 years for the PC platform.

I will be upgrading my PC within the next year which will match an...

Microsoft didn't build my PC I did :) I borrowed their OS to play games on but the rest I bought and built myself.

People seem to think Microsoft own the PC platform they don't. No one does as it's an open platform which Microsoft hates btw as they have no control over it.

If, and it's a BIG if, Steam or GoG do go to Xbox they won't have access to all the PC games library as some games are exclusive to PC and PS. I would be a massive u...

How's that going to work when some games are exclusive to PC and PS4 like No Man's Sky or Street Fighter 5?

You aren't going to get access to the full library of games on PC platform if you even get steam or gog on your console in the first place.

PC developers can sell their soul to Microsoft but that doesn't mean PC gamers will buy their games if they do. There isn't that many PC developers anyway as most devs are multiplatform now. ...

No you don't.

Microsoft abandoned trying to charge PC gamers for Live years ago and they won't be trying it again due to the massive backlash they got last time.

The Windows Store is free for all games on Windows 10 for PC gamers. That doesn't mean we actually want to use it though instead of something like Steam, GoG Galaxy, Uplay or Origin.

I haven't used it for any games yet and I don't intend to. It's an app ...

What you don't seem to get is PC gamers don't want to be associated with the Xbox brand so no amount of exclusive games will get PC gamers to buy from Windows Store when we have to deal with UWP and severely limited console options developed into the games.

It doesn't help when the price of games have been inflated to £45-50 ($64-71) and are poorly optimised for the PC. There is only one place we can buy these games from too ...

Microsoft only has any say over the games they publish. You'll have to buy an actual PC if you want to play the rest of the PC games from other developers and publishers.

It amazes me that people actually think Microsoft has complete control over the PC platform. They do not and will never have that. It's an open platform whereas Microsoft loves closed platforms they can control like the Xbox.

I'll never support their UWP/Windows Store initiat...

Great game on PC which I still haven't finished yet. The game is brutal and much harder than the previous XCOM.

Good luck console gamers you'll need it :D

3661d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Good luck with that. Microsoft doesn't have any PC only games to give to Xbox. It's a separate platform where Microsoft only supplies the OS and nothing else. They don't have any say in what goes from PC to consoles as they don't own the platform like they do the Xbox.

LIke notachance said above it's up to the publishers and developers if they want to develop their PC games for Xbox not Microsoft's.

A shame it's locked into the Windows Store. Many PC gamers including myself are boycotting any UWP game coming from the Windows Store.

Most Windows Store games so far have been poorly optimised and technically limited Xbox ports with a massive price tag attached to them. £50/$75+ for a digital game is ridiculous.

It'll just be another UWP game I won't be playing.

To me Windows Store is already worthless and dead. I won't be going anywhere near that app store.

Microsoft can bring out any games they like on it and I still won't be interested especially at the prices they charge.

Plenty more games to buy and play on PC. I can live without Microsoft's exclusive games while I've got 4-5 other stores to buy games from.

I'm guessing these new updated consoles will use different versions of the same games, right?

So publishers will have to create 2 different versions of the same games for the 2 different system specs for each console platform. Unless the PS4 and Xbox One are abandoned by publishers over the upgraded consoles. What a absolute mess!

Welcome to PC gaming is all I can say :)

So much for console gamers ridiculing PC gaming thinking we h...

Have fun creating your own mods on console for Fallout 4 :) Oh that's right you can't as Bethesda and Microsoft are just choosing some small mods for you from the PC modding community to put in your game.

This isn't the start of mods on console. This is just to placate their console fanbase into thinking they are getting the same mods as the PC when in fact they aren't getting anything like what PC gamers have to choose from.

PC gamers are a bit more savvy about price/performance ratio than you'e making them out to be.

I won't be jumping in to buy a new card till I know all the facts and prices of each card.

Only PC enthusiasts or people with more money than sense will buy the top end cards but they are in the minority. Most will stick to mid range gfx cards like the 480 or 1060 and 1070 at a push.

I've still got a GTX 760 and it runs most games ...

Not sure if there will be millions coming out of the Windows Store.

I'm on Windows 10 but I haven't touched and never will touch the Windows Store as a PC gamer. It just doesn't interest me at all. MS can bring all the Xbox library to PC and I still won't be interested.

MS are fighting an uphill battle when it comes to PC gaming after G4WL and now UWP/Windows Store. I don't think they'll win our favour this time either. Too little ...

@GEO9875

I'd like all the once PC exclusive games which are now on or going to consoles back please!

You know games like The Witcher, Call of Duty, DOOM, Divine Divinity, all Blizzard games and most of the indies :)

You can't have it only one way. Nearly everything on PC is going to consoles especially PS4 but nothing is coming back the other way.

And then consoles gamers ridicule PC platform for having no exc...

It's to do with the console overlords adding royalties to each game's price. PC games don't have a royalty attached to the price so generally they are cheaper.

Although when it comes to Overwatch on PC we get a cheaper basic version without the Origins Edition DLC (£30/$44) on Blizzards store as well as the Origins Edition (£45/$65)

A lot of the AAA games on Steam are £40-50/$58-73 now. I don't pay this price as I like to sh...

It shows how little you know about PC games and piracy.

Only one of the games you listed is subjected to piracy and that's Dark Souls 3. The others haven't been cracked properly if at all.

DOOM, Hitman and Far Cry Primal are protected by Denuvo DRM (uncracked so far) and Quantum Break, well that's just a piss poor Xbox One port and on Windows Store to boot.

The one that sold the most on PC so far is the one that was pirated....

Constant upgrading? That's news to me. Due to the low power of the consoles now PC gamers don't have to upgrade half as much as they used to.

And what do you call buying a new console with upgraded hardware? To me that's constantly upgrading every few years just like on PC.

You might want to research what you type next time and discover the 21st century as you seem to have been stuck under a rock for a long tim...
