People are saying Sony isn't doing well, then why are they buying studios again?
I'm starting to see the pirate flag logo on 360.
The bones is the X and the skull is the box.
A lot of laser drives break when the laser burns out. I know that HDD's wear out machanically. SSD's drives wear out chemically. They both have their own unique reasons for failing but then I look at this and see the word laser.
Do you think these drives will fail because of this laser burn out?
Made a mistake. T.T
PSN has their own Movie store. I assume they want people to pay for their services though them. This would probably be good for both companies. It's about money for the services.
Sony having their own service allows them to fully regulate the rentals and purchases on their terms. By allowing Blockbuster to have the service they're "Giving up" their online movie store to blockbuster. In theory allowing Blockbusters superscription service would be more appealing customer...
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo need to stop telling the public they assume this or that about their competitions stratigy. Sure it's good to point out strengths and weaknesses but telling Joe public the other guy is doing this when it's purely speculation is silly.
Consider this. If you have a product that does something be it drives you to work etc such as a car that's is designed by company A. If your company B you don't have the expertise to tell Joe public how company A does th...
Every unit rather working or not counts towards the install base. This includes units that've been replaced under a 3rd party warranty. Since some companies count the units shipped not sold. It's easy to see how the install base can be confused.
Each time a console breaks and it's replaced by a 3rd party warranty the replaced unit counts as sold, especially if the install base is measured by units shipped. This is true even if the owner doesn't pay for the replacement.

all this patent is about avatar XYZ axis positioning in a virtual world.
"A method for enabling a first user to interact with other users in a virtual space, wherein the first user and the other users each have an avatar and a client process associated therewith, and wherein each client process is in communication with a server process, wh...
I've met a few people that get into games to reduce stress etc and end up becoming more stressed because they become obsessed.
If I was paying for R&D and my technology was stolen or copied I'd try and prove it and get my share.
Sony and MS went to the same chip maker. Their designers could easily use their knowledge learned from R&D to design other products in their company. O.O
I feel sorry for CC. I heard that a plane tragedy caused them to lose a few key executives in the company. Ever since that tragedy cc has went down hill.
A friend told me this, i'm not sure if it's accurate though.
Hard to believe I got a disagree for stating the above. Come on, explain to me how a company owning an online service can't restrict your capabilities on their service. If you really want to backup your claims Mr phantom disagree person log on home start shouting raciest, religious, and hate propaganda.
When you get yourself kicked off PSN come back and tell everyone how you can't be censored because Sony is violating your free speech on their servers? Even better file a lawsuit ...
Yes, they removed BC to save cost. They didn't have to if they kept models. One high end BC compatible and one non-BC model.
I paid extra for a BC model, and if one was still in production I'd still have paid extra. It's like that mounds commercial. Sometimes you feel like a nut sometimes you don't.
Some people are willing to invest in the BC while others are willing to except the gimped versions to save money. Removing that model from production restricts people who...
The service isn't public domain. Users who join accept the terms they join with. The servers are payed for by Sony and/or owned by them. This means they can control what content they allow on them.
It has nothing to do with free speech.
There are a lot of legos versions of old franchises why not LBP copies..
ET, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Power Rangers the list go's on.
It worked for legos why not LBP.
I don't think 360 would have had nearly as much growth in JPN if Tales of Vesperia was multi-platform.
That game looked worth while as a JRPG.
Last night I logged on Home and was greeted with a new terms and hit accept for an NDA.
It was something like "By logging on this bata you agree to not talk about Home except to closest friends or family."
Anyone else accept these terms? I assume the way home filters content falls under this agreement?
If you hear or say something enough at one point you'll probably start believing in it. That's why negative articles can influence the negative market position that's being portrayed.
Just like blizzard SE has a steady income supporting them through FFXI. I'm not rating FF online I'm pointing out the fact that they have a several thousands of players paying $15+ a month. This is like customers buying a new game every 2-4 months and doesn't include expansion packs or extra services.
Lets just *assume* a company has 100,000 players each with an account $15 a month.
100,000 x15 = $1,500,000 per month.
Lets also *assume* 500,000 of that i...
I know it stinks, I know it's tough times. If these guys want to keep their jobs and this is the policy nothing can really be done about it.
My dad, (god rest his soul) was told to drive a truck even when he complained about the brakes failing. It was either him doing his job or getting laid off. One day he went to work never to return. The night before he spoke about the problem to my mother and us while driving to the mall some 20 years ago.
He crashed into a brick...
