They can go lower because they get people to pay for the online services, the extra download content and hardware upgrades.
IMO, the RROD has added at least a few million to the install base and units shipped. Basically, 3rd party warranty companies exchange old units for new units when they break. Those new units have to count towards something.
The lower prices, No more warranty, and the new units are supposed to be more reliable.
Time to trade that old 360 in for a new one with a warranty and another 3 year extension. Why keep the one you have when we can get it replaced. Not sure if that unit will count towards sales or units shipped. More or less that big NetFlix add on might be a system seller to.
MS's now marketing strategy hit's home just recently I've started seeing Sony do the same. You'd see a game...
Why even bother, All that needs done is the d-pad needs changed to a low profile analog rocker on the controller that has height adjustment. Then it could be multi-purpose. The trick is getting the analog sticks to feel like d-pads when set low profile or like analog sticks when raised up.

Features that allow analogs to be repositioned with the buttons and d-pads. Then no one could complain about their positions.
Anyway, maybe they should mass pr...
$100 US to CAN $123 ATM.

$500 us to CAN = $619.15 ATM

For a while, LOL
I haven't been watching the markets and the US Dollor fairing less then the Canadian dollor was a shocker to me. I always remember seeing items on books etc saying US $2.50 and CAN $5.33.
Bad economy flip flopping.
Well, now I'm confused more then ever, anyway I must have had it backwards.
Can you give the US to CAN dollar rate?
$400 US = What in Canada?
I'm guessing like $400 in Canada = about $500 US If this is the case they're losing about $100 more for every PS3 they sell in Canada.

IMO, SE, is slowly trying to Tell fans "We're thinking about making everything multi or exclusive in some way for 360 in the near future"
Get ready for some shocking news. Wasn't it obvious with the FF13 announcement? SE can and will do what they think earns the most $$ despite loyalties on a busyness level. It's hard to imagine them not making the other FF that's currently exclusive to PS3 shift sides as well taking into account the current trend.
It's simple, the JRPG's are japans bread and butter. Anime is really populer over there and the best outlet for this is a good old JRPG.
Sony, needs to get off their areses and have a reality check. If they want to pull in these JRPG players White Knight story just doesn't cut in terms of volume I'm not seeing much in the JRPG arena that isn't exclusive to the ps3 or hasn't been on the 360 first.
If a Sony Exac is listening please get some cool RPG's put together a ...
SE see's 360 numbers in US sales and wants that pie. It's a good concept but it also seems like they want to be a one console dev favoring the 360.
Being the giant they are in the RPG markets all these things pan out to sending as much content to one console while sacrificing another. This way it's IMO a tease for people who don't have the favored console. More or less the market is strangled on one console so people are forced invest in SE's favored console.
They looking at the numbers MS gives them. They also looking at the lineup. Xbox has more RPG's to date including the JRPGs that rocked their sales. Sony doesn't realize THIS IS WHAT I WANT. They're making all these exclusives and only LOL one big JRPG. Last gen PS2 had all the RPGs. Ever since FFXI on Xbox 360 SE has been slowly jumping ship.
I can't stand is these assumed install numbers. If you have a device that has a high defective rate that cost more to repair then replace ...
They're just looking for new talent like the guys who made Little big planet.
This is good news.
I agree with what you said just not how you said it. Lets be fair your comments aren't appropriate. I'm sure your correct but swearing and mud slinging doesn't help validate your intelligent opinion.
I imagine the writer accepted the replacements knowing that the RROD was an issue that needed replaced before the warranty ran out. It's not like this article is going to change the sales of Xboxs. Customers will still buy them with warranties for the content.
I know the writer wants to show the world the poor quality control MS has but, seriously I don't think people are listening. The only way this RROD issue will get noticed by the public is Sony or Nintindo creates a smear ad...
The FF7 most of the reasons for having multi-disk was for the MOVIES.
All the disk had the basic game world. The only big difference was the large movies. :)
So basically what SE does is have the main game on both disk and the movies between the disk once you get to that point in the game where the movies are no longer needed the game ask for a disk change.
Lets say you have 6 big movies on a game.
It waste disk space because all the disk ne...
Could be following this trend to and saying its a glitch.

He's the one who makes those comparison videos. It's his job to adjust modify and edit the comparison videos that we watch. The ones showing video quality for PS3 vs 360.
Well. Spank me simple, he don't like PS3 or the controller. He thinks Xbox 360 is superior then...
When warranties run out some people might just buy new 360s. I can see why this rep decided to speak up. To him/her this must be frustrating. I don't think MS see's it as slaughtering their product. The customers already paid for the the console and accepted the conditions of the warranties. At this point, it's no skin off MS backs.
It's more an opportunity to sell new units because warranties have run out. If people buy more systems it's money in the bank in both sales and insta...
I think most people know these devices aren't as open as they'd like. Soon other devices could surpass the Iphone technology and start eating into their shares. Look at the PC market.
There are people who'll invest in quality an then there are people that'll go for value & features. When the another product is just as capable with a more open architecture at a better value who's to say it won't be the more popular item? Around that time the strict restrictions on apples devi...
This game looks so real interesting almost like your actually in an action movie scene being chased by the cops. The police scanner added a nice touch to.
Side note: I saw this games advertisement on TV. The last 3-5 seconds ended with Xbox 360 starting at $199. Isn't this a multi-platform game? So why is it only showing the 360 logo and no PS3 logo?
Anyone?
I kind of agree with this. These days it seems games are being designed more for eye candy then actual innovation. It's kind of hard to innovate considering we've already saved the world, saved the princess, figured out all the puzzles or learned to stack bricks under pressure.
One things for sure I'll always love a good JRPG. Those stories keep me coming back sadly they seem to be a dying market. The sad part about it is even these are starting to become stagnant when devs are m...
