Poly has already made a statement that there'll be car damage but, not all cars will have simulated damage. Some car brands and models will be restricted while others will have full simulated damage. Right now they're in talks with the ones that aren't on board. Poly is trying to get as many manufactures on board as possible for release. Doing so is causing a delay. I think poly believes they can sway decisions before launch and that's why the negotiations are still in progress.

"I'm afraid to show real damage to my designs because it might make people fear the cars safety." I'd be thinking OMG that must be one unsafe car if they can't even simulate real crash damage in a game.

Just releasing the names of the manufactures who don't want realistic damage is damning enough for me. If most of the car makers allow damage while one or two don't it'll just look bad for the ones that don't. It's simple really, having your car listed inside GT is one o...

I think Firefox is one of, if not the best browser available. Open source multiple OS compatibility and works very well. Bugs or not Firefox is a good browser. It's also much more secure.

I think the only thing stopping it from taking over the market share of IE is the fact that MS embeds IE inside all versions of their OS. If Firefox was shipped with windows the same as IE it'd be #1 IMHO. Unfortunately, most people who aren't tech savvy would rather stick with the generic embed...

A lot of MMORPG's are taking away from single player games and dividing up the market. The pool of MMORPG's have become so saturated that players have almost infinite gaming options for a good PC. This translates into players spending thousands of hours online and not playing a high verity of new games that are sold.

For online gaming companies this is pure competition for subscribers. If your online game isn't kept up with new stuff people are going to find new experiences somep...

This is the old reliable shareware concept. I can see why he made this suggestion it's how shareware was distributed to make money. When epic first started this was how they made their money. Same with ID software etc. They'd make the first episode shareware and the rest purchasable content. Hook the player then leave them with a cliffhanger.

Either they'd buy/pirate the game or they wouldn't see the ending. Solar Winds for example. The first episode would be distributed as share...

I can understand trademarks but copyrights are for content that are copied from the original. There is no code being copied the levels aren't being replicas. If I design movie about space that has laser swords in it I'm not stealing Star Wars copyrights.

It's simple if the content being produced is 100% user generated not using original content it's not stealing someones work. If I drew an image to look like an PS3 or picture of Ronald McDonald as long as that image was my origin...

Yea yea, some features are nice. There are some cases where it's not acceptable. Now as a PC user Spyware can become really nasty. Lets say someone you know gets spyware on your system. With these features almost anyone can utilize PC tracking for dubious reasons.

I know that some tracking can already be done but, most of it is passive. What's being defined here is active tracking. Meaning that your system openly releases your location even when your not doing things that need to...

"It comes down to poor quality products costing everyone time, money and resources. If a product went out the door defective despite the manufacture knowing it everyone who purchased said product should be entitled to damages. Lets get something straight, just because we can get a product repaired under warranty doesn't mean it's not costing us money"

Lemon laws for cars offer consumer protection for vehicles they need repaired excessively. It's not the fact that the d...

Gaming is a hobby and there are people willing to put a lot of money into a hobby. What about the people who decided to send their units in for repair, the ones who traded them in for new ones under a 3rd party warranty or the people who just bought a new system?

Popular belief is that when a console broke MS repaired it with little or no hassle. There where people that fought tooth and nail before the warranty extensions only to end up buying a second system, abusing 3rd party w...

From your point of view MS wouldn't be selling XP or Vista on Sony PC's.

MS wouldn't allow the OS to be sold on rival competitions hardware. This isn't the case though Sony PC's are sold with XP and Vista. They'll probably be sold with Windows 7 when it's released.

The game engine is only a part of the product. The actual game, plot graphics etc. make up the game. So selling the engine is pure profit. If the game created fails or succeeds the engine still makes a pro...

This isn't spectacular to me It's about as cool as folding an empty cardboard box. This would really be cool if the PC had all components and was in a working format. Unfortunately it's just a folded up case that serves no purpose after it's assembled as a working computer.

The only time I think it's bad is when people use it to harm the industry illegally sharing content. To me hacking or modding a product to enhance it's capabilities doesn't seem all that bad as long as it isn't abused.

Ex. Hacking a drive to read read all copy protected disk isn't harmful if it's used for personal backup. If the drive is hacked/cracked and used to mass produce copies for all your buddies it is.

Hackers enhance products for fun and entertainment. Thei...

Just yesterday I bought 2 4gb Data travelers for $15 with free shipping and handling.

Soon it'll be faster and cheaper to backup and store data on flash devices over recordable DVD's & blu-rays. :)

Right now $199 is expensive but consider 4 years ago I paid $21 for a 32mb USB flash stick and today I can pay the same for a faster 8gb stick. How things have changed.

Thank you for posting this.

It shows that all versions have issues not just the PS3. You deserve +bubbles for researching all platforms. Your post isn't just slamming one because your you're bias against that platform.

I agree but why would they do that when they can sell an ultimate edition for almost 50% more.

I think what I just read in the PC-Mag article says that they'll be moving most of the basic added features to windows live downloads. If this is what I'm thinking the OS will start off as Win7 basic by default with the extra features disabled or not installed. Customers can upgrade features they want by enabling portions of the OS.

This will be much like the gaming trend w...

We have windows, MAC OS, FreeDos and Linux.

For the most part the most popular are Microsoft products. The coolest part is this is all free. It's just that these powerful free OS's aren't as widely accepted.

There may come a day when we buy a PC with a free OS that works just as good as paid products and it's just as popular.

It seems that the big E3's where to big and the small ones where to small. Can't they find a balance?

I thought the bigger E3's brought more flare into the industry. When they made them small things seemed less interesting. Things like booth babes, smoke effects and cosplay amplified the excitement. Sadly most of that stuff was taken out the last few E3's. The last one seemed to flavor something slightly more exciting then a science fair.

I suppose to each his own, W...
