Just plain no. I liked the game. I enjoyed it very much. I don't agree with the phrase, "just plain sucks," but there were many, many weaknesses to the gameplay and yes, story, which definitely don't make it the best game this year.
I'll still buy every Naughty Dog game, but I gotta say Uncharted 3 was quite a bit weaker than a lot of what they've done.
I'd settle for a reconfirmed existence =(
From the comments above, it doesn't seem like people understand the issue.
It's not that breasts are at all unpleasant. I'd argue that many people in the world actually find them *very* pleasant.
However, if the purpose of making big, cleavagey breasts doesn't serve characterization or aesthetics, then all it does is pander. Why do you think there are so few decently-developed female characters in gaming?
Hmmm... not sure. There's a helluva lot of subtlety and depth in the Dark/Demons Souls universe. It may not be as physically large, but it's thought-out, designed, and contained quite well.
I still love Bethesda games, but they haven't quite eliminated the immersion-loosening facets of many of their titles. Bugs and glitches are only a small part of this: it's also things like putting a bucket over a person's head to steal their stuff.

Also, try not to forget that they're rating graphics as more than just pure fidelity. Aesthetic and artistic choice figures in heavily. Not saying that any of the actual nominees or suggested other nominees weren't worthy, but it's more than just the packing of detail.
People also tend to focus on individual multiplayer games at any given moment. I mean, how much time can one spend playing? Does a person play BF3, MW3, SC2, League of Legends, and World of Warcraft with regularity?
No, of course not. Most people stick to a couple over a period of weeks/months. How many different single player games can a person play in the same span?
@bozebo
Actually, to use your term, they have Activision by the balls. Sure, the damnable company will probably cashing some pretty big checks when Bungie releases their next game, but...
Bungie has full rights and ownership to the IP they're creating, which means Activision is only forking over cash for the development. They might have some influence and say over production, but who knows? I'd bet Bungie has a helluva lot more freedom than when they ...
Pretty threatening non-disclosure agreement, I'd imagine.
More horse armor!
And Bastion. God, that was such a good game.
Okay, so Sony is doing an excellent job with the marketing aspect of this reveal. Assuming the reveal itself lives up to the level to which it's being hyped, then it will be a complete success.
However, don't congratulate Sony for crafting something which looks pretty; such an action is similar to thanking Samsung after you watch Inception on your plasma TV.
Does no one remember Portal 2? How very sad =(
A common mistake. It's published by Rockband North.
@New-Age
I haven't played it, but from what I've heard, Project Zomboid sort of fits the description of what you're looking for.

I can't speak precisely for the Indie Games service on XBL, but on Steam they get front page service and plenty of overall exposure. There might be some argument for the demographic, but I'd say the straight-up, direct exposure and low prices makes the selling numbers via Steam quite nice.
Generally speaking, video games play is a compulsion, not an addiction. There's a difference.
@dragon
And there it is much more clearly, the famed console defender argument.
As always, you assume anyone who disagrees with fingers-in-ears, nothing-can-ever-beat-my-preci ous-PS3-at-anything whining has no objectivity. This, of course, when it's very obvious how much you project elitism on those who provide thoughtful counters to your erroneous standpoint.
Look up two things; they're related, so it won't confuse you too much....
I loved Witcher 2, but I wouldn't say it's a step above any of the other big titles. The only one that I thought was damn near perfect of any of the candidates was Portal 2.
Eh, next gen is going to be when the new multiplayer fad emerges or the over-saturated, vaguely realistic modern military shooter finishes bleeding itself dry.
Maybe for people who have played 10 or more Zelda games and are getting tired of the same old shit.
Of course, referring to discerning people, not those unable to remove their rose-tinted nostalgia glasses.
As for Skyrim, well... maybe people want their atmosphere more consistent without little pokes to remind them of what they're doing. Glitches, buckets over heads for stealing, arrows to the knee from every guard and peasant don't really improve imm...
