I think Heavy Rain is exciting because it isn't the kind of game we see every day. I haven't had a chance to play the demo yet because I just don't feel like jumping through the hoops to get it, but the game is still one of the games I am most looking forward to this year.
Come on, don't be so bitter. People got very excited by Uncharted 2 and every bit of it was warranted. Mass Effect 2 is also a fantastic game and people are excited by it, which is also warranted. Why shouldn't the very best games be celebrated.
It's too bad that this game is getting average reviews. That doesn't mean that some people won't enjoy it though. I have a few games in my library that received even lower scores than this and I still really enjoy them.
I agree that God of War 3 will be the far better game, but aside from maybe a few insane fanboys I don't think most people were expecting this to be a God of War killer.

That is almost exactly how I view it too. On one hand I think some people get a little carried away with exaggerating how innovative it is. Basically if you have played Indigo Prophecy (and other games) you have already seen these kinds of gameplay mechanics. Heavy Rain definitely adds some nice new gameplay twists like using the sixaxis motion controls, but the core of it is pretty much the same.

I think a lot of gamers are looking for something different. I know Indigo Prophecy did many of the same things, but it was almost criminally overlooked. I am excited for Heavy Rain and I hope that it finds a much bigger audience this time around.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that any downloadable content for the game will be coming to both consoles.
If this is true it will just be another game I will be getting for my PS3 this year. I hope so. I still think Killzone 2 is one of the better shooters around. Definitely the best looking one, that's for sure. I also loved the multi-player.

Kind of a let down that he says the game has noticeable screen tearing. I hate screen tearing. It's one of the things I really don't like about Battlefield Bad Company 2.
But quality is subjective. Some people think MGS4 is one of the greatest games of the generation and for me it was more like an 8 in quality and gameplay.
Everything from story and graphics to gameplay and sound is always going to be judged subjectively.
So Sony just bullies sites into giving their games a good score. That's just dirty.
I don't always agree with certain reviewers' scores, like that reviewer that just gave Mass Effect 2 a 7.5 or whatever it was, but I think it would be wrong if Micorosft or EA were to try to bully that site into giving it a more favorable review.
If this turns out to be true, in my opinion it is a dirty tactic.
The PS3 will be around for 10 or more years, but it won't be Sony's main console all those years. In a couple years the next Playstation will come out and will become the focus of Sony and most third parties.
Same goes for the Xbox 360. It will be supported for 10 or more years like Microsoft has said, but it won't be their main console once the next Xbox launches.
Screenshot comparisons are the most superficial kinds of comparisons you can do. I too will wait for the more in depth comparisons.
I already played the 360 demo and I have been trying to download the PS3 version, but it hasn't shown up in the store yet (or at least a few hours ago when I checked). Does anybody know when it is going to show up in the playstation store? I want to do my own comparison. That is what I usually do.

He is making a point. The point he is making is that PS3 fanboys flooded into IGN to tell them that it is a fact that Uncharted 2 is better than Mass Effect 2 and that IGN are biased for scoring ME2 higher, so he is coming right back and saying "I can do that to. I can say that Mass Effect 2 is better and how could you not agree?"
Only a PS3 moron would say something like that. I prefer the 360, but Uncharted 2 is still one of my favorite games. It's brilliant.
Well put. I agree completely. I see nothing wrong with blending movies and video games. The industry is big enough now and it can support all different kinds of games. The more diversity the better, in my opinion.
