No, Mass Effect 2 is a great action RPG with solid shooter mechanics.
MAG doesn't have the focus on character and story development that Mass Effect 2 does, just to name one aspect.
What essential RPG element is missing from Mass Effect 2?
Face it, the developer of the game, along with all the game sites and the vast majority of gamers, view it as an RPG.
It's funny too that the ones complaining about fanboys complaining about fanboys are also fanboys. Man, this gets confusing.
That dastardly Japanese game site wants to make the Japanese console look bad. That must be it, right?
There is no difference in the lighting that I can see. The only noticeable difference I see is that the PS3 version sometimes looks more blurry.
@Trebius
No, owning both consoles is where it's at. Being a sad little fanboy like you is what sucks.
Yeah, that is definitely the up side. I don't care if they keep them or change them to straight dollar amounts. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages.
Very sexy radies, indeed. I'm going to play as a girl on my next play through. Hopefully I can make my female Shepard look as attractive as these ones.
Pretty good list, man.
Oh I really hope they make another Tenchu. I don't care if it is on PS3 or Xbox 360, as long as they make it. Tenchu Z on the 360 is a fun game, but I know they can bring the franchise back to the glory of its earlier days. Crossing my fingers.
I think Resistance 3 and Gears of War 3 are fairly likely (or maybe something else from Insomniac and Epic). I don't think Infamous 2 is very likely, since the first game only came out last year. I guess it's possible that they could announce it for Spring 2011.
The games I am personally hoping for are Killzone 3 and Gears of War 3. Also, I really hope they announce a solid release date for The Last Guardian, and I hope it is this year. I am also excited to see what kind of g...
But then again I don't think Yakuza 3 has truly bar-raising visuals either (although they still look nice).
Aside from Halo 3, which first party games have been sub-HD with no anti-aliasing?
Edit: Well yeah I guess ODST is kind of implied in that since they use the same engine.
Halo 3 is far from being a bad looking game. It isn't the best looking shooter, but it is far from being the worst. The resolution thing isn't even noticeable. It doesn't have any of that soft look that some sub-HD games do. Whatever upscaling algorithms that Bungie used it worked excellently....

Uncharted 2 is a graphical marvel. It excels in so many areas and everything is so highly polished. Killzone 2 is also of an extremely high quality and is currently the best looking FPS on consoles.
At the same time, I think it is ridiculous the way some people over exaggerate and say things like "Uncharted 2 is miles better looking than anything on the 360".
If you can't see that the two consoles are generally very close in graphical capabilities I think...
Piss poor? Seriously? Get Real.
Edit @ comment below: then you are blind.
Wow those graphics are really impressive. I didn't expect that.
I love both games, but the second game is definitely the more polished of the two. The only thing that seems like a step back is the amount of anti-aliasing. ME2 seems to have no anti-aliasing, whereas the first game seemed to have at least 2x MSAA. Oh well, if that is the price to have no screen tearing and a much smoother frame rate then it was a well worthwhile trade-off.
It's good to hear that the PS3 version is performing so admirably. I will be looking forward to see how the 360 version performs.
Dragon Age is a good game, but Mass Effect 2 is much better in nearly every way.
But hey, that is just my opinion. ;-)
