This guy is giving his opinion. You other people haven't played it. Why is it that if it is a PS3 game it is given all the benefit of the doubt and people just know that it will be amazing, but when it comes to 360 games certain fanboys act like we should be extremely doubtful and assume that it won't be good unless proven otherwise?
All I can say is that what I have seen of Alan Wake looks extremely promising and I am willing to bet that it will turn out to be an amazing exp...
Bullsh#t! Forza has proven itself this generation and currently has the highest scores of any racing game, Gran Turismo hasn't.
Besides, that's not the point. The point is that you guys cried to the heavens when Turn 10 said they thought their game would be the definitive racing sim, but now when Yamauchi makes far more insulting remarks all you PS3 fans just heap praise on him.
You guys are the biggest hypocrites in gaming.
So when Turn 10 says something like Forza 3 will be the definitive racing sim (not calling the competitors crap, mind you) it's horrible and they should die in a fiery pit, but when Polyphony Digital literally calls all their competition crap they deserve a pat on the back?
Typical double standards coming from the PS3 camp.
"Some say that if we do that it's a heinous thing and we sink to their level and they win. Well they may win but it's nice to know their guys won't be showing up at the trophy ceremony."
Your quote doesn't even apply here. This isn't a war where people die.
It's not like if Polyphony Digital call all the other racing games crap that all of their sales will disappear and all the people enjoying those games will suddenly stop playing and the developers of t...
I agree, Green. What Yamauchi said was much worse than what Turn 10 said, but the Sony fanboys will never admit that.
But deh sony developerz neva talks bad abowt duh compitition!
Yeah right.
The day before yesterday I finally downloaded and played the demo. Overall there were some things I liked and some things I didn't like.
I liked the fight scene with the guy in that prostitute's apartment.
I liked some of the dialogue choices.
I liked the character models.
On the other hand the game felt very clunky to me. The walking felt tank-like and it took too many separate button presses to complete simple actions like slipping behind the dumpster...
Wow, that is awesome. Halo Reach looks completely amazing.
I'm so excited for so many of the games coming to the 360 this year.
Alan Wake is as good as anything I have seen.
Maybe if you don't have anything to compare it to you might not notice it, but I compared both versions of the demo on my Panasonic Plasma and the PS3 version looked noticeably blurrier and some of the textures looked lower resolution.
You didn't notice the screen tearing in the PS3 version? It was very noticeable. You must either have poor vision or are somehow not sensitive at detecting screen tearing.
You are wrong. Lens of Truth and Digital Foundry are both very reliable and good sources for in depth multi-platform comparisons.
The "vaseline effect" is very common in many PS3 multiplatform games. It most often is the result of lower resolution or Quincunx anti-aliasing. Either way, it looks pretty bad.
Good job, Lens of Truth. This is exactly what I saw when I played both versions of the demo. The PS3 version looks noticeably blurrier, has less detailed textures and much more screen tearing. Lens of Truth reports that 23.5% of the PS3 version's frames were torn, as compared to only 2.51% of the 360's frames.
The demo is pretty fun, but I haven't made up my mind whether I want to get it or not.
I had two PS2s die on me. I guess I should just dismiss the idea of the PS2 as being a good console.
You guys are such hypocrites. You don't even know how to be rational or fair.
HighDefinition, you are such a moronic fanboy.
The Xbox 360 is a great console and I really enjoy owning it. It has done better than the original Xbox and has carved out a nice market share.
Great post. There are lots of 3rd party exclusives on both consoles that have remained exclusive.
The fact is, many 3rd party exclusives will never go to the other console. Just because you can point to a couple of examples where the developer or publisher said that a game would remain exclusive and it ended up finally going to the other console does not mean that you can assume this will happen with all 3rd party exclusives.
I think we still have to take a develop...
Kengo: Legend of the 9 > all action games on the PS3, INCLUDING UNFARTED 2!
That's how dumb you sound.
Versus will eventually come to the 360. So will Demon's Souls.
Not that I care. I already played Demon's Souls on my PS3 and I am not sure yet whether I even care about Versus.
HighDefinition, you are so damn biased it is ridiculous. Claiming Alan Wake isn't one of the best looking games on any console is what is absurd. When the most recent trailer was revealed there were lots of people saying that it had some of the best graphics of any console game. You and the rest of the hardcore PS3 loyalists are the only ones trying to pretend the graphics aren't amazing.
