Oh and MGS4 and Ratchet & Clank also say hi.
Not to mention, the PS3 has far more sub-hd multiplatform games than the 360 does.
@commodore64
I know exactly what you mean. Some fanboys are just way too sensitive and biased.
This game looks somewhat better on the 360. That's just the way it is.
The fact that some first party developers have managed to create beautiful looking games still doesn't mean that it is a good machine to work with.
It is a difficult machine to work with and it takes a lot more effort to get the same performance that the 360 achieves quite easily.
Yeah, everybody I have talked to says that it is way better than GTA4.
Right off the bat I think the setting is far more interesting than in the GTA games.
I don't care what anybody says, this is easily one of the nicest looking games on any console. Especially considering its scale and dimensions.
You know what, UnwantedDreams?...Alan Wake is one of the best looking games I have ever played on a console.
PS3 fanboys were hypocrites right off the bat because MGS4 is sub-hd and is constantly held up by PS3 fanboys as a graphical beast, but suddenly tried to pretend that Alan Wake can't be a graphical beast due to its sub-hd resolution. Like I said, Alan Wake does have amazing graphics, regardless of its native resolution.
Lol at anybody that thinks review scores will ever tell you which version of a multi-platform game looks better.
The truth is, the vast majority of reviewers only review one version and have no experience with the other version. Only dedicated technical comparison sites will reveal the true differences.
So how many multi console owners are going to skip out on the better graphics for a minor bit of insignificant extra content?
I agree that this is the worse site for comparisons.
You're telling me. I loved Dead Space. The new game is looking amazing.
Ok, this guy is exaggerating, but something obviously got him excited. The game clearly looks amazing and his enthusiasm has me excited to see just how good Crysis 2 will look on the consoles.
Actually, that's not true. Internally they have two separate teams working on the 360 and PS3 versions and each team is said to be trying to outdo the other team.
We should get the best version possible on each console.
The excuse that the double standard is ok because Alan Wake is an exclusive is just lame, lame, lame.
A good game is a good game. Alan Wake is a good game, that looks amazing, and just happens to be sub-HD.
RDR is probably the biggest multi-platform release in quite some time and it happens to be sub-HD on one of the consoles. I don't see how it is any different.
To put it another way, RDR is probably better than about 97% of the games on the ...
Not to mention that the best looking PS3 games like Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 largely look that good because the studios that made those games are extremely talented, are fully backed by Sony with big budgets and technical support and can focus on one single platform.
That is by far the biggest reason those games look as good as they do. Even then, I don't see a huge difference between games like Alan Wake and Uncharted 2.
Here we have what is likely to be the biggest multi-platform game of the year and we have PS3 fanboyss saying the sub-HD resolution doesn't matter, yet when Alan Wake was found to be sub-HD it was the end of the world and supposedly meant Alan Wake couldn't be a fantastic looking game.
I just love the hypocrisy and double standards!
That said, it isn't that big of a deal. Resolution is important but it isn't THAT important. There are a lot...
Correction: I never saw anybody say that resolution didn't matter, only that it is not the most important determinant of graphical quality.
Have YOU looked in a mirror?
I think the DS3 is great. I do think, however, that there might be some ergonomic improvements that could be made, and I think the L2 and R2 could be improved as well. The analogue sticks feel great to me and I actually prefer their convex design over the concave of other controllers. The buttons all feel great as well. So, improve the "triggers" and the overall ergonomic design and I think it will be even better.
The fact is, we don't know what impact 3D or motion controls are going to have for either console. It's all conjecture at this point. I think we just need to wait and see how things pan out.
Really? I mean, seriously? You have to be joking. Ratchet in no way, shape or form is anything special. Lots of 360 games look better than Ratchet & Clank.
