Xbox 360 is better, because its online is much better, multiplatform games are usually better looking on it, and it has an awesome library of games. PS3 is behind in all those areas, but it does have Blu-ray capability and better reliability. I like my 360 better for gaming, but the PS3 isn't bad and is actually better at some things.
I really enjoyed the first Way of the Samurai. I hope this game comes to the west. Nice to see the 360 gamers (at least in Japan) will get to play this.
I completely agree. There is no universal bias. I see tons of anti-Microsoft articles all the time. Articles about RROD, Zune failures, Internet Explorer sucks, Vista sucks, and on and on...
Seriously, if anybody believes there is a unified bias against Sony or the PS3 they have to be completely blind fanboys and need to get a reality check.
Well, it depends on what you care most about. The 360 has a few more full retail games that run in HD than the PS3 (e.g. GTA4, Dark Sector, etc.) , while the PS3 has more downloadable games that are 1080p.
Basically though, both consoles can be said to be 720P consoles, because that is the resolution that the vast majority of games on both consoles run at.
Bingo! At least somebody knows what they are talking about (theincrediblesulk). The GPU in the 360 is more powerful than the one in the PS3. The PS3 keeps up because of the Cell. If coded for properly some graphics processes can be offloaded onto it, which will take up some of the slack of the GPU in the PS3.
For many developers, it will be easier to get good performance out of the 360 and that is why you see many multiplatform games looking and performing better on the 360. ...
Well I have both consoles and I am sick of people talking out their @sses and claiming that the 360 hasn't improved. That's BS. I have recently been playing Gears 2 and it has blown me away. There is no doubt at all that it is a lot better looking than the first game. The lighting, particle effect, depth of field (and other special effects) have all been improved tremendously. People claiming otherwise are either blind or have never played both games for themselves.
So yes...
What recent multi-platform games look better on the PS3? I have both systems and most recent games I have seen have looked slightly better on the 360.
COD WAW
Prince of Persia
Dead Space
Mirror's Edge
etc.
...all looked equal or better on the 360. So which games are you talking about?
I have all the games listed: MGS4, Uncharted, etc., as well as Gears of War 2 and in my opinion Gears 2 looks better than any other game I have played on consoles.
MGS4 is slightly overrated in my opinion. It looks great, but it isn't the best. Uncharted is a lot more impressive and was the best-looking game on consoles until Gears 2 came out. Gears 2 is the best-looking game on consoles at the moment, no doubt about it. Killzone 2 might take the crown, but I need to see it o...
Same here. Gears 2 was one of the best gaming experience I have ever had. But it is nice to see that other people are enjoying it as well. Especially developers as talented as Jaffe.
At least Jaffe has good taste (not to mention being an awesome game developer), Gears of War 2 is an amazing game.
People who say that is only a small improvement over the first one simply don't know what they are talking about. Gears 2 is so much better than the first one in nearly every way. The graphics are better, the gameplay is better, the narrative is better, the achievement system is better (in fact, the best implemented achievement system I have ever seen). I love G...
How is this article predicting Sony's doom?
That's the problem. Many people hear anything negative about the PS3 at all and they jump to the conclusion that the article is predicting doom for the PS3.
This article said nothing about the PS3 being doomed. That is just people reading into things.
The point of the article is that it looks like Sony might miss their PS3 sales goals. That is all. Doesn't mean the PS3 is doomed. You guys need to stop b...
Blah, blah, blah...big conspiracy against Sony...blah, blah, blah...
Come on guys, that's just naive.
I know. The people trying to make a big deal out of this and act like Microsoft have crappy hardware seem to forget how many problems the PS2 and PS1 had. The Xbox was more reliable than the PS2 was and now because the problems the 360 has had suddenly Microsoft's stuff sucks but Sony's is nearly flawless. Give me a break.
You know what? I went through two Ipods before getting a Zune and I couldn't be happier with my Zune. Just because one model of Zune is having some proble...
You call Bladestar a Microsoft apologizer, but you guys come off as fanatical Sony fanboys that just want to tear down Microsoft at any cost. Where were you guys when many of us were having problems with our PS2s and PS1s? Where were you guys when the exploding Sony battery fiasco happened? Root-kit?
The point I am trying to make is not that Sony is a horrible company (because it's not), my point is only that all companies occasionally have problems and you guys are being on...
Exactly. That's why we can't believe what we read on the internet about Xbox 360 failures either. Certainly there has been a problem, but it has also certainly been exaggerated by PS3 fanboys lying about having problems with their 360s.
In the real world, out of the dozens of people I have talked to on Xbox LIVE only a small number of them have had problems with their 360s. Out of all the people I have talked to on the Playstation Network I have only heard of about 2 or 3 th...
To be fair the 30% figure that people throw around as the alleged fail rate of the 360 is also bogus. It was pure conjecture and had no basis in solid numbers, yet people repeat it as if it were fact.
No, what makes a person a fanboy is when they can't admit a single flaw in their favored console and attack the competitor console every chance they get. I admit I favor the 360, but I wouldn't have to defend the 360 so much if people weren't so overwhelmingly negative and unfair towards the 360. I think the PS3 is a good console and has a lot of positives going for it. It also has a lot of good games. The thing is, the 360 is also a good console and has a lot of great games, yet I can't ...
Oh puhleese! There are far more PS3 fanboys on this site than 360 fanboys. This thread is unusual, as there are more 360 fans, but generally there are far greater numbers of PS3 fans on this site than any other kind.
Ridiculous. Devs aren't lazy. It just takes more work to get a game working right on the PS3.
There is no such thing as a console that doesn't fail. The PS3 fails, the Wii fails, the PS2 fails, the Xbox fails, they all fail to some degree or another. The newer Xbox 360s hardly ever fail and have a failure rate not much greater than the other consoles.
