Yeah, inverted for me too. It just makes more sense to me, you tilt your head back to look up, tilt your head forward to look down - mirroring the motions of an inverted stick.

I can agree to a certain extent that many games using the same engine often have a similar "look and feel" - mind you, I am not saying this is an exclusive phenomenon of the Unreal Engine.

I genuinely do not believe this is a fault of the engine though, as I listed in my comment above (4.1 - oh, and add Enslaved to that list), there are a whole lot of games using the Unreal Engine that look very unique and distinct from one another. I believe, ultimately, this comes...

I think Batman looked fantastic, but there are lots of contenders for "best use of the engine" - Borderlands, Bioshock, Lost Odyssey, Mirror's Edge, these all look great (and not a one of them looks a thing like Gears of War, I might add).

The truth is that there are lots of developers and artists with little ambition or who are otherwise unwilling to imbue a game with its own unique art and style.

This has *nothing* to do with the Unreal Engine.

Haha that's awesome, they look identical! If that isn't proof that all Unreal Engine games look the same I don't know what is.

The fact is, the Unreal Engine just can't make games with a unique visual style.

Games like...

Bioshock
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Lost Odyssey
Mirror's Edge
Mass Effect
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Legendary
Splinter Cell

Yeah, health warnings come on nearly everything these days. The difference here though, is that 3D affects a significant number of people in negative ways. I suffer from severe eye strain, migraines and sometimes an upset stomach if I watch 3D for longer than an hour at a time. I know of several others that also experience migraines and eye strain. I don't know *anyone* that suffers from any problems playing video games for similar lengths of time (or even much longer lengths, really).

I dunno. I have experienced 3D with glasses and I can say that it's not for me. The biggest problem I think 3D will have to overcome is the fact that it makes a *significant* number of people (myself included) sick or gives them headaches (or both).

That said, I have not experienced glasses-less 3D and don't know if that will have the same effect on me as 3D with glasses. I hope not, because it *is* a cool technology, I just hope some day I can use it without experien...

Wow.

Having fewer bubbles than a spam bot makes me feel inadequate.

I've only actually used game sharing once myself, so I'm not sure if this is true of every game, but in my case, the game I shared could only be used on one of the shared PS3s at a time. So if you shared a multiplayer game with the intent of playing with your friends, you would not be able to do so as you could only use it when your friends were not using it.

Despite that limitation though, game sharing is fantastic from a consumer point of view. I can understand why ...

I am amazed at all of the people that seem to have not understood your post. They clearly need to take some reading comprehension classes.

that one day lazy gamers will not have to rise up and step away from their favorite game because technology will have advanced to the point of automatic sandwich creation!

I have a dream that one day sweaty, overweight, dirty, greasy gamers, will no longer have to awkwardly approach a girl, any girl, and request a sandwich!

I have a dream that one day hot and toasty (or cold and tasty!) sandwiches will be delivered into a gamers widely agape maw directly from...

It really puts things into perspective when you see a spam bot with more bubbles than you.

I am ashamed.

Yeah, for the most part I agree with you.

I know this isn't true for everyone, but I think that the amount of time and effort required to build up that level of skill is simply not feasible for many people given the already limited time we have to devote to a game.

About 15 or so years ago I had all the time I needed to play a game and get really good at it and I was absolutely the kind of gamer that cared enough to do so. Unfortunately, that's not a ...

I know I am not an exceptionally good FPS player. I know this because I've seen videos of great players and know I simply cannot compete. Depending on the game I'm playing, I get a good beating with no chance of success.

This is probably the biggest reason I personally have always preferred the Halo series to most other online shooters. They use the TrueSkill Matchmaking to try and match players with opponents of a similar skill level, thus keeping things relatively e...

His message isn't wrong, but one must seriously question the level of conviction behind it when he continually supports folks like HHG who personify everything he is railing against.

@ Disagrees

Really? Davis rants against exactly what HHG *is* and yet promotes him at every opportunity. It's a hilarious contradiction and shows the hypocrisy on display here. I can't believe any of you are so naive to disagree with that.

It's funny to me that Torrence is ranting about this type of "journalism" and yet his site promotes hiphopgamer any and every chance they get.

Contradiction much?

Edit @ RoX -

Yeah I don't know, I don't particularly care for his show all that much, but I can accept the fact that other people do. What bothers me about him are his ridiculously sensationalist, flame-bait titles. If he cleaned that crap up, he wouldn't ...
