Well, I assure you I wasn't making it up. It was listed in Kotaku's review of the switch:
http://kotaku.com/nintendo-...

However, they have since gone back and updated it saying the day one patch apparently fixed it. So I wasn't making it up. It wasn't bull. Calm down potato chip.

I saw it in a number of reviews, and IGN mentioned it in one of their podcasts. The problem was that the Switch was draining power and never fully recharging even while sitting on the dock. It wouldn't go below 85% but kind of annoying. Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone, like the joycon sync issue.

There's also the problem that even when plugged in, it might drain the battery down to 88% or so and doesn't fully charge. That seems kind of annoying.

I can, in fact, confirm that the PS4 controller will work through an aquarium without any issues. You can keep your PS4 in a cabinet full of wireless devices and it will all work just fine.

Agree. There's no reason to buy this at launch. Aside from Zelda, it's really an empty console with few prospects in the future. I agree that most should wait a year and see what happens.

Competition is awesome and it makes all companies try harder.

But I also think Xbox Game Pass and PS Now are two completely different services. Xbox just improved on what EA was doing already doing. Now Sony should follow suit.

Am I the only one who thinks this isn't actually a battery test that's actually useful? My iPad lasts longer than that when you actually use it to do stuff.

I always thought that gamers were asking for a Nintendo console that made them feel like they were "playing with power" again. Oh, and a 2-D Metroid game. But we got Switch instead. Hopefully it's just as good.

Wii U's biggest hurdles were the steps taken to make the 3DS successful. Nintendo quickly dropped the price of the 3DS, and that set a precedent. I remember the conversation around the Wii U when it launched was "I'm going to wait until they drop the price in 6 months." But they never did drop the price and people just kept waiting. Maybe them sticking firm to the Wii U's price will help the Switch, but what saved the 3DS from failure ultimately doomed the Wii U.

It was one of the most down-voted trailers on YouTube (if not THE most down voted). It got bashed by fans. It was a disappointment to Activision, so much so that they say they're now going to return to the game's roots. And yet it was still the best selling game of the year. I'm betting most companies would kill to have a product that was viewed to be a bomb in every aspect but still outsell the competition.

Switch is launching with something Wii had but Wii U didn't: a "must-have" game. That should push it hard at first and build a sizable enough install base to attract more support. The "weak" launch line-up may be a good thing because anything not named Zelda will just suffer. But if 3rd parties launch games in August-October, they might do relatively well.

The Virtual Console is the greatest thing Nintendo has ever come up with, and yet they've screwed it up so badly so many times.

I always thought that Nintendo should just release a micro-console that was strictly a Virtual Console machine. A small, inexpensive box that could play all these old games. When I first heard of the NES Classic, I thought that was it, but they didn't allow you to add games to it... and then sold it in such limited quantities that few peop...

The constant game delays are an embarrassment. Out of all the first party games they've released, only a handful were not delayed. So stupid.

Backward compatibility is a different beast though. Emulating the PS3 processor on the PS4 is not something Sony can do easily, if it's even possible. Microsoft has been doing emulation between X86 and PowerPC for decades. Sony needs to add PS1/PS2 games to PSNow.

You're probably right. I just mention Sony all the time because of their sales success with the PS4. They've clearly come up with something that millions of people want to buy. The thing is, I actually want Nintendo to be successful. I wanted the Switch to be awesome, but everything I see gives me this sinking feeling that it's going to be Wii U all over again. A few million will probably buy it at launch for Zelda and then sales will fizzle which leads to 3rd parties abandoning ...

Oh, it's possible to take it with you, but it's just not that convenient. When I see people playing games on devices out in public, it's not on a tablet or laptop, it's on a phone. I just don't think the idea of having a gaming system that you can take with you is really that big of a selling point for most people.

I can think of 5 reasons why it might not actually be genius. But right now we're all speculating and speculating is fun. Personally, I'm betting it won't succeed because I'm getting the same vibes from Switch as I did Wii U (in other words, it doesn't interest me at all). But who knows. Maybe tens of millions of people will suddenly realize that what they really want to spend their money on is an under-powered home console that can also be turned into a portable... even i...

But Japan probably isn't a big enough market to sustain the business. And even there, smartphones are taking over.

Here's the thing, the Switch is perfectly replacing the Vita... but that's not good for Nintendo. Switch is taking every talking point the Vita had and doubling down on it. The problem is, that after all is said and done, the Vita failed to sell not because Sony didn't give it a chance, but rather because it's a product most people just don't want. As a huge Vita lover, I denied this fact for years, but I've come to the conclusion that it's true. Most people don...

The problem is most of those characters have flaws working against them that hold them back.
- Kratos is too vicious
- Drake, Joel, Ellie are too... bland. There's nothing that sets them out from other normal people
- Most of the others are too old. PaRappa, Jax & Daxter, Sly... they're PS2 or even PS1 characters. Cole was awesome but he is a PS3 holdover.
- Sackboy is great and I always love him/her/it as the face of PlayStation but t...
