The main reason is that she's distinctive. With that flaming red hair, she stands out and has a unique look. Nathan Drake is cool but he blends in with a 100 other "cool" heroes. Kratos is distinct but too vicious. Aloy has a perfect blend of traits to make her a great icon for the system. Can't wait for the bundles to come out featuring Horizon.

And here I thought I was the only one who really likes the Killzone series.

This must be when you're extremely desperate to write an article about anything.

Delayed? The game was supposed to be out in 2015. It's already been delayed enough.

For anyone who is not super hard-core, this is good advice for any console. Wait a year and you'll get a less buggy system that will cost less and have more games to choose from. I wish I had waited a year or longer on my PS4.

I really think Nintendo have not learned a lot over the past few years and if they had just looked at what others were doing in the industry, they would realize they're heading down the wrong path. What they're making here is a more powerful Vita 2.0. A powerful handheld for a mature audience that you can also plug into your TV. The problem is, as Sony found out, people really don't care if they can take their games on the go. It turns out that the portable computer/phone/camera/m...

The only explanation for this is that 1 2 Switch is actually some kind of inside joke and Nintendo is trying to troll the world. It's the only thing that explains this.

and what makes me sad is that the time and money put into this could have been used to make a 2D Metroid game.

I don't think so. I think Sony and Microsoft learned that chasing after what Nintendo is doing isn't the best path for them. Sony has tried twice to take on the handheld market and came up flat both times. Sony is going to stick with powerful home consoles, VR, and work on getting game streaming perfected.

What a strange website. I want to read the content but all I see are pics of women in bikinis all over the site from the trash "recommended websites" trash that I can't even take this thing seriously. But no, they don't need it to be a success but yes it probably will be.

I don't think you're alone. I had no interest in a Wii U because I was burned with the Wii. I'm sure there are many Wii U owners who will either take a wait and see approach to Switch or skip it all together. The hard core gaming fans will rush out and buy it day one, but as the Wii U sales show us, there aren't many of those fans left anymore.

Nintendo needed to come out and really sell the Switch to a broader audience but all they did was show off a bunch ...

"People don't buy Nintendo consoles to play 3rd party games" is something I hear a lot. That could be shortened to "People don't buy Nintendo consoles" because there are no 3rd party games. I want to love Nintendo again, but I can't because they keep screwing things up.

In my humble opinion, the thing I want is a PS4 made by Nintendo. All the things a PS4 has but with Nintendo 1st party games. It doesn't need some weird, "innovative&...

I keep seeing articles about why the Wii U failed. Bad messaging. Poor announcement. The marketing wasn't good enough. But what I rarely see is that the system just wasn't what people wanted. Because it wasn't.

I own a Wii and love it. But I also moved away from the Wii because of all the things that it didn't offer, specifically the 3rd party support of major games. Yes, I love Mario games and Zelda games, but as I would eventually discover, I enjoy sports ...

"Nintendo’s record when facing adversity is darn strong. To recap something I mimicked in another article, Nintendo does it’s most success and innovation following it’s least successful console launches."

The problem with that is with the exception of the Wii, EVERY new Nintendo console is its least successful. The Gamecube sold less than the N64, which sold less than the SNES, which sold less than the NES. The Wii U sold worse than all of them. That's not a s...

This assumes the Switch succeeds. I love handheld gaming. I love my Vita and PSP, but I also realize that I'm in a small minority.

Nintendo delayed a game?? I'm shocked.

But Nintendo ignores E3. They haven't made an effort there in years. Last E3 they showed Zelda and.... well, Zelda. What makes you (and everyone else) so certain that this E3 is going to be different?

The prices for the games right now is insane. I'm wondering how much of that is due to them being on a cartridge, which have to be a much higher capacity than cartridges used previously (in either 3DS or Vita).

Gotta say that if I was going to write an article on 5 reasons why its launch will fail, I might use the exact same arguments in reverse.
5. It's easy to understand? On the contrary. It's so freakin' complicated. Is it a home console? A handheld? Truth is, it's really neither. It's too underpowered for a home console and too big/bulky for a handheld. It wants to be both but ends up being neither. And with a dozen different ways to play, it complicates things even ...

I think Switch will probably flop because of its lackluster 3rd party support, among a number of reasons. But the 3rd parties really aren't doing themselves any favors here either. They're screwing it up just as much as Nintendo.

Ubisoft is coming to launch a handful of ports of games that have been out for months or even years already. EA is coming with, what will surely be, an inferior port of FIFA. Bethesda is coming with what will also presumably a lesser versio...
