The Wii and the PS3 were both released at the same time. Now, 10 years later, my PS3 is still used every day but the Wii just sits there. Yet the Wii is considered a success while the PS3 struggled.
From my point of view, just because something sells well for awhile doesn't mean it's a "success"
This review.... sucks. Not about the opinion but the way it's written. This is more of a hit piece than an actual review. Mortal Kombat games aren't listed under "Sega" titles because... they're not Sega games. Now I'm not sure if this thing is worth buying or not, and after reading this review, I'm still not sure.
The only arrogance I see here is from the self-entitled prick who decided to write this article. Talk about arrogance. This guy has all the answers. He knows how to make a PS4 backward compatible with PS3. He knows how to keep PlayStation running as a profitable business. He has all the answers. Bravo! And while he thinks PS Now is "hilariously awful" the same could be said about his whole article.
Pretty much, yes.
One of my favorite aspects of the Vita is that when playing PSP games, you can assign button presses to the right stick. This allows you to play games like Syphon Filter or Resistance much more naturally on the Vita than how they work on the PSP.
The problem is, I want to like this game. I enjoyed the first, but the second was so... bad. It has such a cool concept and the mash-up with Disney locations is great. The problem is the story is way over complicated, the battles are very repetitive, and the cut scenese are soooo long. After watching this new trailer, it looks like KH3 is going to be the same way. And remember, it was first announced at E3 2013. So it's going to be released 5 years after it was revealed?? Seriously. What...
This game looks horrible. And boring. Horrible and boring. Pretty, yes, but damn does it look like more of the same. How does something this bland take so long to make? Are there only three people on the dev team? Square should be ashamed for how long their games take to develop. Pathetic.
Here's my wild theory. Kojima is a pain in the butt for any studio. His games are always way over-budget and take way too long to make. Then when they sell, people love them but not that many buy them. Yest, Metal Gear 5 was a darling for reviewers and fans, but in the grand scheme of things, it didn't sell all that well. Konami makes more money off crappy mobile games that cost a fraction of the effort to make.
Not sure why everyone is jumping on the "Jim Ryan Hate Train." Everything he's saying is right but getting twisted to make him sound like a bad guy.
Yes, when compared to Gran Turismo on PS4, why would anyone want to play the PS1 GT game? That gets interpreted as "Sony craps on classic games."
Cross-play: He bungled the message but obviously Sony doesn't want players to log into XBOX Live to play a PlayStation game. Translatio...
Yes. Bring it on.
Lol. When you phrase it like that, it kind of points out what a niche market this is. So you need someone who really cares about graphics and can tell a noticable difference between 1080p, 4K checkerboarded, and "true" 4K, yet this person also isn't interested in PC gaming (but can afford a $500 console, which unlike a PC, can't also be your computer to write emails and do your taxes). So who is that? That's a pool of about 20 people.
I've been pla...
I totally get it. The question is who is the One X for? What is its target market? Graphics snobs? Those people are PC gamers.
It's going to be a niche product, and they know that. So then why spend so much time hyping how much power it has if you don't show what that power does for you?
My bet is it's a Steam box with retro Atari style and the logo.
Sadly, I read Forbes articles more than I should, so I'm highly skilled at being disappointed. When was the last good gaming article from that site?
In light of new information, I'm wondering if this isn't because Sony doesn't want to leave PS3/Vita players behind. It looks like this new cross-play option will only be available to newer platforms... which means the older one might be left behind. So PS3 and especially Vita would probably not be included in this new update.
Why does nobody entertains the notion that maybe Sony can't support it? Their back-end for online stuff is pretty jacked up. It's why they say they can't do name changes. It's why online chat was impossible on PS3. Maybe, just maybe, there's more to it than Sony wants to screw over their players.
I don't know if it was a terrible showing, but it did fall flat. They kept hyping the raw power of the machine. Larry Hyrb was tweeting pictures of the custom CPU and how he was carrying it with him. I think they failed to point out how it makes games better.
The greatest thing I saw in the press conference was Cuphead, which looks like it could have been on previous gen hardware. If you're going to sell a powerful system, you need to show why it's better. Show ...
I think the One X makes the One S look more attractive. Same games at half the price. Now it suddenly feels like a deal.
If there's one place I don't want a campaign mode, it's in a sports game. I think FIFA is better without the stupid Journey mode.
And as far as Frostbite is concerned, yes it made the game a bit prettier, but it also ruined the actual gameplay. So while the grass and crowds looked amazing, controlling the players was worse. Sometimes an engine designed for FPS doesn't need to be used for a sports game.
Journey. Then The Last of Us. But I have to say that Journey is pure genius.
