They did. It's called the Surface Pro 4. It's great. Oh, and you can watch Netflix and do other cool stuff on it too.
It's really too early right now to say one way or the other. At the moment, evereyone is high on the Zelda love. It's like the beginning of a relationship where everything is sweet, and wonderful and lovely. It's new and lustful.
Let's see how things work out when PS4/XB1 start getting Battlefront 2, Call of Duty, Read Dead 2, Shadow of Mordor, and all the other big, AAA games that won't be coming to Switch.
I know it's fun to sp...
But it turns out that what the other consoles are doing is what gamers like and 75 million of them have said so by purchasing one of those other consoles. Yes, everything plays Netflix (except for Switch) but it turns out that in addition to playing games, people like that their consoles can do other things. I love that after playing something on my PS4, PS3, Vita, Wii, iPhone, random android tablet, or Fire TV, I can quickly switch over to watch something on Netflix or Hulu.
I don't really need to support the obvious. I mean, Switch is their 3rd console without major 3rd party support so it's kind of obvious. It started with Wii. Continued with Wii U. And keeps going with Switch. As for their policies, try these:

Nintendo has done a genius job at making consoles for selling Nintendo games. Everyone else need not apply. Nintendo's problem is that they're solely focused on themselves. They fail to realize that to succeed they need to help others make money on their console. They can't keep acting like 3rd parties should be grateful for the privilege of putting games on their system. This is how the Wii U went and... well, enough said. Switch is succeeding early because Zelda is that good. If...
I guess there's just different ways of looking at it. Sure, La La Land wins Best Picture while Rogue One isn't even considered. Why? People voted with their wallets and a lot more of them said they'd rather see Rogue One than La La Land or Manchester By The Sea. If the movies or games that are so highly praised by the press fail to appeal to the mass audience, then are they really that great? Or are they just films trying to please critics, who have themselves been put into an ech...
Damn good year for exclusives.
My one thought was, how did a game that got middling/bad reviews and no hype from the gaming press get the top spot and beat out both Zelda and Horizon? I think this clearly demonstrates that there is a large disconnect from those people who cover games and obsess over them versus those people who buy them and enjoy them. Games like Call of Duty, MLB The Show, and NBA 2k are consistently top sellers (NBA 2K nearly year round) and yet despite their tremendous popularity, none of these games wi...
If Scorpio was really the next generation of Xbox, then maybe it'd have a shot. But they say it's not. All games on Scorpio will also be available for the original XB1. All Microsoft exclusives will also be available on PC. So until they can cut the XB1 loose and create new experiences, all Scorpios is is a PS4 Pro. It doesn't matter how powerful it is.
Will people pay more to have just a little more power in the same games? Sure, some will. But most people won...
The thing about Kickstarter is that it allows creators to go directly to the audience and as for money for a project that normally would not have gotten made. There was a small, but dedicated, group of fans who wanted another Banjo Kazooie game. Not a modern character platformer. People gave them money to build what they promised, and for all intents and purposes, it's exactly what they delivered.
If reviewers don't like the game, that's fine. Just as long as they deliver...
I feel like I'm missing something. Namco Museum games have been around since the PS1 and yet the hype for the Switch version is as if this is brand new. I've had Namco Museum on my Vita for years (not this exact same collection, but close enough).
The author is living in la-la land. Aside from showing actual games, every other suggestion offered is ridiculous. Why not just tell MS they need to give it away for free? Or pay people to use it. That would be just as realistic as the suggestions offered in this piece.

I used to really like this site.
Sure, but after selling out their 2-something million in the first month, I think Nintendo breathed a sigh of relief and feel confident it isn't going to be a Wii U bomb. They see the coverage and the interest and they know (or at least are anticipating) that Switch will sell pretty well for awhile.
I think there's an easier explanation. Nintendo wasn't sure if Switch would sell or not. They were hedging their bets and needed to have something bringing in money until their fiscal year was over. They never indicated this was a limited release item, and quite the opposite actually. Their CEO made statements about how they were ramping up production and how it was difficult getting the parts manufacturing to speed up to meet demand.
Once it became clear to them t...
Or maybe Sony learned that the less expensive console is actually the better choice. MS is most likely going to soon find out that despite having a 6tflop super-console that does native 4K is going to pale when sitting next to an XB1s that plays the exact same games at a fraction of the price. Sure, they don't look as good, but they look good enough.
The author must have been too young to be a part of the Sega/Nintendo console wars, because had she gone through that, she'd have a different opinion. Console wars are the best. Screw Atari! Intellivision forever! Xbone sucks! Genesis rules! Good times.
Also, why does she mention that the Verizon/Sprint guy was harassed for being gay? That seemed to be random and out of place.
The argument is: "Gamers will flock to Scorpio because it will provide the best version of multi-platform games." That's true. But it's also true that currently the PS4 Pro provides the best experience, and while some of the hard-core have picked it up, the majority of PS4 sales are the slim. Why? Probably because it plays the same games, it's cheaper, and it's performance is good enough.
The Scorpio will have a market, just as the PS4 Pro does. I...
I agree partially. FIFA will make Switch, but not FIFA 18. It's if Switch gets FIFA 19 that we'll know whether or not Switch has a future. And not a "legacy" version but an honest to god new version of FIFA.
