Or they might not. Speculation is fun.
So the whole game is going to be pro-Brexit? Great.
And here is why it's a bad thing. Yes, you may have a dozen other devices that all play Netflix, but if you're using one of them, you're not using the Switch. You're finding different remotes, changing inputs, taking a few extra steps you shouldn't have to. Or, you just have a PS4/XB1 that can do everything, which also includes watching blu-rays and dvds.
Also, the reason no one remembers TVii is because Nintendo took forever to implement it, and then wh...
No. We can not. The Switch doesn't have an amazing 2017 lineup. It does however have a bunch of Wii U games and a promised Mario game that will get delayed into 2018 or later. Hell, the Switch's best looking game is Zelda which was supposed to be a Wii U game out 2 years ago except it constantly got delayed. So what does that leave us with? Inferior 3rd party ports of games that came out years ago. The rest (Arms, Snipperclips, 1 2 Switch) look like they'll be fun for 15 minutes ...
I want to believe that Nintendo learned from their mistakes and are going to have a massive hit on their hands, but from everything they've done so far, that isn't likely. Nintendo constantly feels like they need to "innovate" or introduce a new way to play in order for their consoles to be successful. They don't. People just want to play Nintendo games, Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart and the like. What they don't care about is an IR camera in a controller that can detect ...
That would work if Nintendo could get an online infrastructure that was at least sort of modern. I thought that Nintendo should release a console that is only a Virtual Console machine. I think Mario Kart should be bundled with the console and 1 2 Switch should be buried in the ground next to all the E.T. cartridges. But with the slim launch lineup they have, they would be well off having a robust virtual console, but that isn't going to happen. The hardware for the Switch might be really...
Drooling? Over these games? I get that Zelda looks great, but this is a list of 4 Wii U games and an odd looking Mario game that I'll give the benefit of the doubt to. Nintendo's Switch library is looking strikingly similar to the Wii U. Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Rayman Legends, Lego City Undercover, Legend of Zelda BOTW... I thought the whole idea of Nintendo delaying their console out this long was so that it would have a killer launch lineup of games. Everyone started calling it th...
The only thing harder than finding a Switch to pre-order is finding games to play on it.
I agree with you. 90 million people downloaded and presumably played it. Of those, only 3% thought it was worht $10. I'm one of the 90 million and one of the 87 million who decided it wasn't worth it. It's not a bad game, but it's not worth $10. Rayman is $3 and it's just as good.
I think the big lessons to be learned are:
1. Don't label it as a "free" game when in fact it costs $10 play.
2. $10 is too much for a mobile game (regardless of quality) because the competition is charging far less.
If you have 90 million people download and try the game but only 3% think it's worth the asking price, then you have a problem. It's the basics of capitalism. The price and demand have to have a meeting point. At 3%, it ...
Neither. Not a popular opinion, but neither are worth your money. Switch will disappoint and Scorpio won't be what people have made it out to be.
My thought exactly. I downloaded it, played it.... and don't think I'll spend $10 on it. Maybe if it goes on sale, but otherwise there are a number of other "almost as good" games at a fraction of the price (or free).
This is going to be more of a problem for the Scorpio and original XBOX One since the power gap there is so much greater.
Exactly. The PSTV is already a perfect option. If they bundled it with a controller, 8gb memory card, and 10 classic PS1 games, they might have a hit on their hands. If they put a skin on it to make it look like a PS1, that might be an added bonus. But right now, I have a PSTV with the greatest PS1 hits already. The only problem is that in NA, they don't have the Crash or Spyro games available. Sony needs to get those rights back.
Innovation? Nintendo is making Vita 2.0 and Microsoft is supposedly releasing a powerful PC that may or may not cost $600. Truth is, aside from "6 teraflops" there is nothing known about the Scorpio. The fact that PSVR just gets glossed over at the end seems a bit disingenuous.
I don't know about the connection issues, but does the response of someone named "KingGOBO" on the PS EU support forum really count as official acknowledgement from Sony?
The success of the NES Classic actually demonstrates everything that is wrong with Nintendo. They are a company stuck in the world of 30 years ago. They are Al Bundy consistently trying to relive the glory days. They hit it out of the park with the NES and came up with such iconic characters such as Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong. They've been trying to ride that wave ever since and it's just not there anymore. Being "different" isn't being better.
I'm confused. So should we buy these games new and support the studios or buy them used and not give money to support them? I guess now what I'm hearing is we need to stick it to these AAA studios by not giving them our money to teach them a lesson. Use/rental it is from now on. Glad I didn't buy Uncharted 4 and just rented it for 2 days instead.
BTW Amy, if your working conditions suck this much, quit. Putting up with it for 10.5+ years just tells everyone that...
If there's one thing we've learned over the years it's that if you allow "hype" to define your product before you can properly communicate it, then the consumer is going to be set for massive disappointment. The power of the gamers' imagination is unlimited and failing to live up to the unrealistic expectations set before it, can only lead to negativity.
My main question remains. I own a PS4 and I own an iPhone. What would the Switch give me that I don't already have? I'm not going to throw a giant console in my pocket just to keep playing a game. The games on my phone are good enough when I'm not at home to play.
