No, no, no, and no! What the Switch does not need is more ports of games people have already played. What it needs are AAA games that have yet to come out. It doesn't need Overwatch, it needs Destiny 2. It doesn't need Resident Evil 7, it needs Madden 18. Right now the system is already flooded with ports of old games. If you're going to live in a dream world where 3rd parties support this console, at least wish for new games and not ones you've already played on other console...
Spot on. If you look at some of the highest rated games over the last few months, it's surprising how many of them are exclusives. What's even more surprising is that they aren't on Xbox. It seems like none of the XB1 exclusives, whether it's Halo or Sunset Overdrive, it never really moved the needle to MS's favor.
With that train of thought, everyone should currently be buying a PS4 Pro... but they're not. Turns out that "good enough" actually sells better than "most powerful." And good enough mixed with less expensive will sell the best.
Also, PlayStation has the advantage of a number of exlusives that won't come to the XB. This year alone has been filled with amazing games, but they've all been exclusive to PS4 (and Switch). XB1 exclusives have not ...
Um.... yes. That's what I said. It will make XB1 games look better. But that's all. Better looking games doesn't mean better games. The Order 1886 is a better looking game but it isn't a better game. Meanwhile, the under-powered Nintendo Switch just launched with one of the best games of all time. So power only takes you so far.
It's an impressive piece of machinery. It seems very powerful. Of course, The Order 1886 was also technically a very beautiful game, technically very advanced. The problem Xbox has isn't the hardware though. If you look at some of the amazing games that have come out over the last few months there is one thing they have in common. They are not available on XB1. Zelda, Horizon, Nier, Persona, Yakuza, Nioh, and on and on. MS's main problem is they took their first party studios and ...
Ready at Dawn was who I was thinking of during the whole video about the power of Scorpio. It doesn't matter how technically gifted your stuff is, a crappy game is still a crappy game. Breath of the Wild is amazing on a Wii U and is better than anything available on XB1. Having 6 teraflops won't change that.
Also, what's the point in having 12gb of memory if 4gb is reserved for the interface??
PETA hates everything... except of course killing stray pets and dumping their bodies in a dumpster
I loved the podcast. I hated the podcast. It provided a lot of entertainment but also constantly infuriated me when I completely disagreed with what they were saying.
That said, Greg and Colin had a good show. I didn't always agree with them, but they had passion about what they talked about. Compare that with what has happened to Podcast Beyond. It's now a podcast with hosts who have PlayStations but don't have any passion. IGN's Nintendo and Xbox podcasts ...
Yet games have been drastically less expensive on iOS/Android for years. Games like DuckTales, Broken Age, Severed, and even Minecraft Story Mode are all cheaper on mobile devices. It's been this way forever but only now with Nintendo are people up in arms claiming prices have to be uniform across all platforms?
My car doesn't need power steering, power brakes, air bags or a radio for it to do its primary function, but all those things sure do make it a lot better.
PS4 was marketed as a games-first machine, but it was really nice to also have the media apps. I just wish that after 3 years on the market, PS4's media capabilities would be close to what the PS3 had. Still not even close.
Maybe we should talk about having Indian heroes in games... or Chinese. I mean, 1billion of both kind of demands some attention. Or how about a hispanic woman? How many hispanic women do you see in games?
Nintendo is only repeating what doomed the Vita. Yes, hard core gamers and Vita owners will probably love it. But to the mass market, they don't feel the need to have to be able to play video games everywhere they go. It's ok to walk away. Most adults would feel silly sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office with a giant handheld gaming device playing Blast Master. They're fine reading or surfing the web on their phones.
The Vita's biggest fa...
I'd argue it. XB1 was struggling when they had all the big exclusives and Sony had none. Up until lately, the situation was the exact opposite. Microsoft had all the big exclusives and Sony had nothing. It didn't matter and PS4 sales still continued to dominate. Exclusives are nice, but they're not enough to sell a console, as Nintendo has learned.
I think the better explanation is that despite all the talk at the beginning of the generation that "it's ...
This is exactly where I was in 2006 when I bought a Wii. I hadn't owned a Nintendo console in years. I missed the cartoony fun of Mario games. Zelda was a launch title. Excite Trucks looked cool. Metroid was coming soon. Plus Wii Sports just looked amazing. I was all in and it was a lot of fun.
But then a few years go by and I started looking longingly at those games coming to PS3/X360. They looked soooo good. FIFA was actual FIFA and not a watered-down version. Mario G...
I was on an ocean planet when the update was released. Before the update, it was just water against the shore. After the update, suddenly there was white foam along the shore where the waves would break. It looked good before, but after the update, it was turned up to 11.
You're right. Maybe I should have muted my enthusiasm a bit... but the colors were so much more vivid... the leaves on the trees were brighter. It was so god-damned gorgeous.
Now if only I could find an outpost on a planet that I want to make my permanent base.
My jaw dropped after installing the latest update. The beautiful world I was on suddenly became eye-popping gorgeous. I always loved the game and but now it's even better.
So... with a week on the market and only a handful of games available, someone is able to confidently declare that this is "of of the best Nintendo consoles ever." That's.... something. Though, with a proven library of games and being truly awesome, I can think of "the best" contenders so far: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, (possibly) Wii. On the portable side you have Gameboy, Gameboy Advance. DS. DS lite. 3DS. Which one of these consoles does Switch top so far? It has bu...
They were already investigated for allegations of false advertising. They were were later cleared and found to not have violated any laws. So there you go.
Personally, I always loved the game and after the last two updates, it's even better.
No, but your 4 would be better than the ones listed.
