I don't get how Battlefront is a disappointment at all. EA was quite upfront about exactly what the game was going to be (muliplayer-only FPS in the Star Wars universe). They also had a free beta to let everyone try it out. If you were disappointed after all that, then maybe your expectations were just out of check.
I think those who are disappointed with it are upset because it doesn't fit their preconceived notion of what a "Battlefront" game is. They'...
They could also fix the store so that games that won't work don't show up but those that do will. The interface could use an overhaul and they really need to have user account switching on the PSTV. One of the big benefits of the device is remote play but you can only remote play with the user the PSTV is assigned to. That's fine for some but in houses with multiple people, it's kind of a pain.
Reading through these comments, the word "entitled" kept popping into my head as well. I might have been upset over the price until I actually played one of these PS2 ports. They're gorgeous. They don't look like PS2 games, they look amazing and much better than how they looked on the PS3.
The long and the short of it is, if you don't think it's a good value, then don't buy it. Nobody is forcing you. It's as simple as that.
The problem is it isn't Nintendo's choice if handhelds stick around or not. The market makes that decision and sadly people have opted to ditch dedicated handhelds in favor of smartphones and tablets. That's not hyperbole, that's a sad and horrible fact. The people who used to buy their kids Gameboys or DSs now give their kids hand-me-down iPhones and cheap android tablets.
It has nothing to do with power. It has to do with Nintendo being so focused on proving "new ways to play" that they're actually crippling their own platform. They make great games, but the fact that they keep making players have to learn new ways to play them is hurting their sales.
Yes, the 3DS has some great games, but they're not great because of the 3D. Games on Wii, like Mario Galaxy, Zelda, and Metroid Prime, were great despite the motion controls, no...
I love games about history, and this kinda makes me want to look into DW8. Thanks.
HEADLINE: PS3 outsells both the 3DS and Wii U combined!
What kind of story is this? Maybe Nintendo should re-run a press statement saying that the Wii outsold both the PS3 and Xbox 360... or that the DS is the best selling system ever.
Great idea! Nintendo should probably just move into making a phone instead of a console. Because let's face it, consoles are dead. Mobile is where it's at! Smartphone games are the future, and if Kim Kardashian: Hollywood has taught us anything it's that mobile games are just as deep and just as artful as their expensive console counterparts. I can't wait for Nintendo to release their own smartphone platform. It's going to be epic!
I hope so. I was just thinking the other day that was Nintendo really needed to do for their next console was to have a controller that was even MORE expensive than the gamepad. Then, if you remove physical buttons, you could make it more like playing games on your phone (and EVERYONE loves playing games on their phone). While everyone is saying that Nintendo should stop with the gimmicky controllers and nobody wants a controller with a screen in it, I hope Nintendo doubles down on this. They...
I'm a bit amazed it actually came out. It had a pretty good showing at Gamescom when it debuted, but then it was released with such little hype.
I've been playing since Saturday, and I have to say I freakin' love this game. It's very different from the first, which threw me off a bit, but I've grown to really enjoy the changes they made. And is it just me, or is it a lot funnier than the original? Really good stuff here. Definitely a 4/5 or higher.
Really though, who cares? I mean, you know San Diego is working on The Show and helping Jaffe with Drawn to Death. Guerrilla is working on Horizon. Guerrilla Cambridge is working on Rigs. Santa Monica is working on God of War after supposedly canceling another project years into development. Media Molecule is making Dreams. Evolution is supporting Drive Club. Polyphony is making Gran Turismo Sport. Naughty Dog is working on Uncharted 4 (and rumored The Last of Us 2). And studio Japan is worki...
"Sony owns the market. There are 2x PS4's out there than Xbox One's. Sony can do whatever they want, and we as a consumer have to take it."
You don't have to "take it." You don't have to do anything. And these companies shouldn't be expected to provide you games at no cost. Just because it has been done before is nice, but it's not mandatory. When you buy a game for a system, you're buying it for that system and not whichever on...
I can't wait for Civilization on the Vita. It's about time it finally came over.
But it looks so pretty!
Yes. Their single minded focus on preventing piracy led to expensive, proprietary solutions that in the end, drove customers away. So now instead of some games being pirated by a few, nobody bought the system at all.
Other systems, like Windows, Android, and 3DS all have easy to pirate software on them and it doesn't stop devs from making games for them.
What was edited? Did I miss something?
But in answer to your previous question, there are a number of things my PS3 does that my PS4 doesn't. It doesn't matter if it's a "corporate design" or not.
The PS3 plays my PS1 games, both physically and digitally. It also plays minis. I can not only download Vita and PSP games to the PS3 to transfer to my handhelds, but I can also use the PS3 as a backup device. It has a media player that doesn...
The PS3 was definitely the most complete console I've ever owned. As a gaming machine, it was amazing. As an entertainment system, it was top notch. It really was an all-in-one box that could do it all. And while the PS4 has slightly prettier games, it still doesn't come close to offering what the PS3 did.
Right now, my PS3 is a multimedia juggernaut. It plays movies, music, and photos. It has an amazing library of games. It plays PS minis, PS1, PS2, and PS3 games. I...
Where's the "facepalm" gif when you really need it? The only thing that is happening here is that you won't be able to buy PSP games from the PSP anymore. They shut it off in Europe like a year ago. You can still buy them and transfer them. You can still re-download them. You can still put them on your PS3 and copy them over.
And since the wi-fi on the PSP was slow as hell anyway, if you were still using that method, then god bless you.
Sony is not going to take the Vita behind a shed and shoot it... that would require Sony to actually put effort into doing something for the Vita.
The Vita is great. It has an amazing library of games, but the market of people who want to play those kind of games on the go is very small (relatively). Even the 3DS, which is always heralded as a shining success isn't doing so hot.
It's hard for these devices to compete with smartphones, which are now mu...
